the latest build of windows 10 is more stable than other and very fast and no more resuming lower memory device..and there is an also option to run cortana in ENGLISH(india), it perrity good.microsoft also introduse new storage sence app .but its littel bit buggy. the problem is that after i upgrade my phone to latest build it can't show me the sd card ..for this i try to restart my phone, soft reset but i cant see sd card option..then i hard reset the phone so i can able to use sd card but no more after one time restart the same problem occurs.
First of all, make sure the phone is off when you insert the memory card. But before that, format it (FAT32) using your pc (uncheck quick format), put it in some card reader. Try this and come back.
and make sure you backed up your sd card because format will erase you data .

Pull the card out and pop it in a Normal PC Card reader and see if you can see the contents. For some reason PPC's will occasionally corrupt the formatting of the card to majke it unreadable to it but PC's sometimes can. If you can read it with a PC, then copy the contents off, reformat usign the PC and copy the contents back and try it in the PPC again.
ok will do that. but isnt that dangerous to lose data tat way? also, when i could read the memory card, the folders r there but the files r gone. possible virus?
i can find my memory card on the card reader. i tried formatting it but it gave me an error "Window is unable to complete the format". What is wrong?
Were you able to copy your info off of the card? How were you trying to format it?
Make sure that you DON'T have a window to the card open when trying to format.
HELP ME WITH ADVISE!
My problem is back again. My data at certain folder in the memory card is disappeared but still able to browse the memory card. Then i soft-reset a couple of times and the data comes back. It took the dopod 838 pro to read the memory card very long time b4 able to show the data on the card.
What should i do?
Check the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager. There are two DWORD values - PNPUnloadDelay and PNPWaitIODelay. If they are not set to 8196 - do that.
its 8196 as posted...
Looks to me like 2 possibilities:
Your SD Card is shot; or
Your phone has lost the plot.
If it reads OK on the PC card reader, the card is probably OK.
I'd try a hard reset of the phone first. (Make sure you have backed up everything first.)
Also, clean the SD slot as best you can to make sure there are no biscuit crumbs or old socks fallen into the hole.

Seems like some problems with this card. You didn't try another one?
I have two microSD cards:
- 1st one came with my SE Xperia Arc S, and has 8GB
- 2nd one came with Samsung Focus (Windows Phone7) and has 16GB
...And thats all I know about them.
I pulled out the second one from S.Focus, and tried to use it in Xperia Arc but the phone acts like there is no card inserted, also tried the other way, with 8GB from Sony in Samsung Focus, with the same result.
Do I miss something here? Is there a preparation needed or something like that?
You will need to format the card from within the phone to get the right file structure.
If you need the data back up to pc,format card, then re place the data back again.

Is there a possibility that Samsung's card is not compatible with Xperia and vice versa?
Tried to format it from within Xperia but that 16GB simply not detected, also format (prepare?) options are greyed out. Maybe would need to format it first on PC them move to Android hm.
If both are "Micro SD" cards, and looks the same(size and shape), then it should be "compatible". If it doesn't work, I reckon the card is damaged, and therefore can't be read by your phone.
From settings did you unmount the card to format?
If card not recognized by phone then only option is to format with pc. Make sure you format with right properties ie fat32.
If after this card still not recognized by phone then think it is damaged.

Try using a PC to copy the contents first (if you need to).
My cards are fine, and working well on their origin phones, the problem begins if I try to swap them.
Well gonna try again, with unmounting first.
Finaly managed to do it after some research....
I will write how I did it, so maybe someone else can find that usefull:
0. Dismounted 8GB card on android menu and pulled it out
1. Backed up data from 8GB android card on my pc
2. Unlocked Focus card with SD unlock (thru the Windows Phone app)
3. Formated 16GB Focus card with SD Formatter 3.1 (full format with erase) on PC
4. Copied saved data to 16GB card and inserted to android phone - everything fine and working well
5. Inserted 8GB card to Samsung Focus (I didnt do anything before, it still has Android data inside)
6. To make new sd card work had to reset the phone to factory but it had custom bootloader and I couldnt do it via hardware keys (soft method was off limits) so I flashed it to WP7 rogers rom (a carrier official rom)
7. Samsung Focus booted and 8GB android card were detectable and working fine.
Not that easy as it seems, cant we just swap the cards eh?
Glad to hear you got them working.....
If the cards are out the box then yes they clean plug straight in .but if used before on different Phones which run different os then the file structure on the card will be different..... So neither can read the other card.

Yo Bro,
Need your help. So just yesterday night i downloaded a music from an apps.
all of sudden the memory card just removed ( in-terms of unmounted itself) where i didn't physically remove it by myself.
I experienced this problem before and found a solution to recover but i just cant find that link back
So , I was hoping you guys could help me out a little hope for me to recover them.
The SD Card run as 8gb itself.
Things i've tried;
1)Factory Reset
2)Physically remove the sd card by myself and insert back in
3)Restarted the smartphone right after the problem occur
4)Reset my battery
5)Trying to get into my PC by using Disk Drive mode but doesn't shown at HTC screen.
From what i think;
I dont think my memory card have any problem so far or maybe memory full because of it ?
btw , will 16GB memory card compatible with HTC Desire HD ?

1.Try wipe cache and dalvik cache in recovery. Sometime my old DHD sdcard have same problem.
2. Yes, 16GB memory card compatible with DHD. My sdcard is Sandisk Extreme Pro 32 GB. And it run perfect.:fingers-crossed:
Hey guys.
I have an issue with the SD card as well. Actually, the phone doesn't detect SDcard at all, even in recovery.
I've tried mounting USB storage in 4ext, can't do that, can't partition it, format it, anything. The SD card works ok in card reader and camera, so I guess it's an issue in the phone?
This happened after I opened my phone to clean it out. It isn't the first time I'm doing this, but nothing ever went wrong.
It's confusing to me, because I didn't even touch anything around the SD card slot, just removed the back panel, cleaned the upper part of the phone where the speaker is and that's it, I didn't even take the entire motherboard out, no need for that.
Does anyone have any clue how could I fix this?
To be sure, check in memory card reader.
SD-cards don't have unlimited lifetime, but this is too soon tho.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, SM-T900 stock non-rooted OS 4.4.2, and a Sony 64 U1 microSD.
At times I go to send an attachment and the file manager shows the card but it shows it as empty. I pop the card out, re-insert it and back it comes. Sometimes the card doesn't have the problem for weeks and other times it happens 2 or 3 times in a day.
I thought I might reformat it after copying everything off, but I know there are apps that store setting/data there and don't know if that will mess things up.
An issue anyone else has had? Any thoughts?
should be fine, first unmount the sdcard cleanly by going to settings - general - storage - unmount sdcard, then remove it - when you copy the data off make sure your pc can see hidden files since you will need the hidden folders if you have apps moved to the sdcard.
when you format the card it should be in exfat format (not fat32), since it's a sdxc card (64gb+)
if the problem persists then the sdcard probably went bad (happens all the time, I must of went through 3 64GB Sandisk ones already) the system is designed if the card gets an error reading or writing it will unmount / remount the card - it could also be temperature related too some sdcards also have a protection mechanism where it will switch it to read only mode making it impossible to write to it or format, if you are lucky it might have a good warranty and you can get it replaced hassle free.
I did check the card before posting and it is formatted exFAT. Also using an SD card adaptor put it in my PC and did a Chkdsk on it with the /f option to fix any problems and no errors were found.
Unless someone has something else to try later today I will copy everything off, put it back in the tablet, and under storage SD I'll Format it with Android.

Hello everyone.
My main issue for a few months has been the microSD card. Before I unlocked the bootloader, rooted and installed custom ROMs, my SD card worked fine, which was a SanDisk Ultra Class 10 32GB. After doing those things, my microSD card (or my phone) has been suffering a problem where it either corrupts or it disappears from the configurations of the phone, even after buying a SanDisk Ultra 64GB microSD card. I even unrooted, reinstalled the stock ROM and locked the bootloader but this keep happening.
This is incredibly frustating, because my main use for the card is Spotify, Netflix and Youtube Go! (I like to download everything on the highest quality possible) and every time it corrupts or dissapears I have to format the card and download everything once again. I even tried formatting it for internal storage but it dissapeared out of the blue other day just like it happens when it's setup as external storage.
Does anyone else have the same issue or know any fix to this?
It may be a hardware issue with the sd card reader

And only Motorola would be able to fix it?
A hardware specialist could, it's not just limited to Motorola workers.
I have similar problem/s
A. It takes a lot of time until card is ready
B. After it shows as ready, it can dissappear after a few min.
I u reinsert it, it takes more time, and sometimes fixes the issue.
The weird part. If it is ok, it will work like that until next reboot.
I really dislike this phone.

You don't need to format it
If it says sd card corrupted when you turn the phone on simply remove the sdcard (whilst the phone is still on) wait a few seconds then put it back in again
This works if formatted as external storage - not tried as internal as I don't see benefits in this

It says SD card corrupted while using the cell phone. Like, let's put this situation:
I had downloaded all my Spotify songs in the highest quality they allowed, listened to them while coming back from University on a Tuesday night. I put my G5 to charge during my sleep. When I wake up the next day to go to work, I cannot access any of the music, because suddenly my SD card disappeared from the cell phones (if I go check in the settings, it says 24,59 GB instead of 84,06 GB). After a few minutes, the SD card re-appears but says it's corrupted.
Since creating this thread, I haven't added anything to the SD card and I never got the issue again, so I'm pretty sure it's something with the way Spotify files work.

Have you tried connecting your sd card to the pc and check for the available space ? If it does then copy the data to your pc, format your sd card (ControlPanel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk manager).
Then re-insert the blank sd card into your phone and see if it shows up.
