Not getting any notifications on wifi - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6

Whenever my phone is sitting on WiFi I don't get any notifications. Email, texts and other apps don't notify me. As soon as I turn off WiFi or go out of range and connect to 3g or 4g I immediately get all my missed notifications.
It seems that the issue is while the screen is off. When it's on I do get messages and notifications.
Anybody else have this issue or know how to troubleshoot it?
I've tried while completely stock, stock rooted, custom roms, custom kernels... Everything. Any ideas?
Thanks!

WTF is up with my 3G?

My phone has always randomly had a little glitch. For some reason, once every so often my 3G icon just disappears and stuff like my internet and market dont work. SMS still works fine though. Normally just a reboot fixes the problem but today I had to pull the battery. This happened even when I was fully stock but now I'm running DC 3.2.3 still with the stock kernal. Any similar experiences?
Running all-stock with no root. Happens to me also.
Full bars for signal (calls and texts) but the 3G icon stops transferring. I just put the DATA widget on my homescreen and toggle it. Not really a big deal...so far.
Same things happening to me it wont connect to 3g and freezes most of the time. Just started about 2 days ago

are you running a rom?
...If you are you should try flashing a stock rooted and see if the problem still exists. If it does you may want to try to unroot, go back to stock and update everything. Then you can narrow down if it is rom/software/hardware related
Yes i am running stock rom rooted. What do you mean by update everything?

I was also running stock rooted at first. Here is a weird update I just came across though. I've installed (and uninstalled) SwitchPro, which is basically a more customizable widget than the stock power control widget, 3 times now. And every time I add the actual widget to my home screen my 3G instantly disappears.....wtf? I uninstall it and reboot my phone and it's back to normal.
I'm gonna dig in to this a bit after I get back from the gym.

I just meant that if you unroot the phone, make sure your radio's are updated to stock, update your profile and prl, then you could determine if it is hardware related or maybe you just have a bad signal?

I think he means Device Self Service. Updating your PRL, Firmware and Profile.
I forgot to mention that when my 3G becomes "sketchy" this is the 1st thing I do. After that do a soft-reset and pull the battery out.
##RTN# - enter MSL - click menu, reset.
This is the only way I've found to fix this.
It wipes out ALL of your information so make sure you are backed up and synced. It is just like getting the phone new out of the box - it will auto-activate and you should be good to go.
If you don't have your MSL, call Sprint technical support and ask for it.
Thats pretty disapointing that that seems to be the only awnser. Will try when iget back from my vacation. The problem that makes me really mad is that it reboots randomly even when the screen is off in my pocket. Any backup app recomendations?

Can't recieve or send Pictures with Text

I have a rooted EVO, with no custom ROM and over the last couple weeks, I can't download a image coming in a text. I get an error "unable to download".
Any thoughts as to what I should do. Also with a rooted phone but no custom ROM should I accept the Sprint update?
No on the update, and i believe that may have to do with your data. I have had it do that when I was on WiFi or roaming
now the voices are in 3D
Data is on right? But agree with dased14. That could be it.

[Q] wifi tether doesn't allow incoming calls and delays texts.

I'm running gb27 touched by a sgsiv room with the source built kernel. When I am running the tether app I am unable to receive incoming calls and I receive (some of) the texts sometimes hours after I turn the tether app off. I have another identical phone on my account running the same setup and have confirmed it has the same issue. Anyone else having the same issue? I'm not sure this isn't a problem on sprints side but being I don't pay for tether I can't really ask their help. Ideas?

SMS Issues since Lollipop update

Has anyone been having delayed text messages being sent and received since the update? My wife has been having this issue with her M8. It's been intermittent but it happens almost every day to her.

I have also been having this issue. Sometimes a text message takes an hour or more for me to receive it or my recipient to receive it, other times I'll receive up to 4 of the same message in quick succession. It mostly happens when I have Wi-Fi calling enabled, as text messages don't seem to play well with it. For some reason, it completely disables the cellular radio instead of working in conjunction with it. Drives me crazy.
My wife's phone has wifi calling enabled but had cellular as the preferred connection method, so it would only switch to wifi calling if there was absolutely no signal. So I don't think in her case wifi calling was the issue. I completely turned it off just in case tho. I'm having her try another messaging app just to see (Google Messenger vs. HTC stock), but I don't think that's the problem.

Also remember that the only app that can send mms messages over wifi calling is the delivered one that comes with the phone. Any 3rd party apps (like handcent, chompsms, etc) will not be able to send mms messages over wifi calling.
Hi, I had the same problem plus mms would be sent nor downloaded. I was using the messenger google app though, switched back to stock message app and it resolved the issue

I called T-Mobile and they had me clear the cache from the Messaging app, and then reset the APNs back to default. So far so good... Everything started working.

I spoke too soon. She's still having the same problem. Reboots always fix it, but it's getting annoying. Guess next step is a factory reset. :what:

while related but unrelated, I had to do a factory reset after the lollipop update b/c my wifi was having issues that seemed random.

I don't think she's had any issues with wifi but i'm not really sure. I know yesterday I was trying to back up her phone preparing to wipe it and I saw the wifi would go out then come back on. I was about 10 feet from the router and everything else on wifi was holding steady except for the phone. Is that similar to the issues you were having?

My issue was that the wifi would connect and then drop then connect. Also some wifi AP, it would work great. To me it was just inconsistent, so I figured in for a penny in for a pound and just wiped the phone. That worked for me, but it if didn't I was planning on re-installing TWRP and some custom ROM as my bootloader was unlocked (but I was still s-on).

Any further solutions to this problem of intermittent delayed text messages? I now have 5.1.1, and use Hangouts. I also sometimes don't get calls either, it's like the cell antenna just turns off.
From what I remember a hard reset fixed the problem for my wife's phone.

No data sync on wifi?

In the last week or so, my phone has started some weird behavior on my work wifi.
If I'm using an app, I have network connectivity. But if I'm not manually refreshing, nothing comes through. After being on wifi there for a couple hours, then either leave or turn off wifi, suddenly I get a flood of emails, Voxer, group me, eBay, etc. Basically all data related sync notifications do not come through.
It gets more strange. At home on wifi, this isn't an issue.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot the work network?
Thanks!

This is happening to me with gmail on my home Wi-Fi. Then when I hit mobile data my mail comes through. Tried multiple apps, factory reset etc and to no avail.
Seems like a dns block. Maybe your work has setup the network to block anything not work related. As it should be.
In another thread the app "telegram" is responsible for similar behaviour. Delete it.

I have full access to our network settings, and there is definitely no intentional traffic filtering.
