Elocity A7+ ICS - 2.6.39 Kernel development

anyone up to the challenge in helping?
i got the 2.6.39 ICS kernel of Folio100 (originally by DerArtem) working on A7+
it boots but no touchscreen support.
i can attach a mouse and use apps so on, so basic IceCreamSandwich 4.0.3 seems in place.
kernel source is here: derArtem 2.6.39
ill update the thread, if any other developer can assist, and ill put my kernel changes online as well (i do not know github much yet)
I will still try and solve the touchscreen driver support, since i got it loading now but nothing moves.
but i got it working and the device would actually be great with full ICS support.
WOW!!! This is GREAT News!
Hope someone comes thru to help you out. Im sure you will have the touchscreen driver support fixed. - Awesome news! Wishing you the best in this project!
Hi Dexter,
It would be amazing to get my A7 running ICS - Have you had any luck with the touch screen drivers?
A quick question - I am currently running your 1.42 version - If I don't care about the camera / bluetooth functionality would you say your Cyanogen7RC1Mod is a better choice to run?
Thanks in advance - Keep up the great work

i am not 100% since it been some time now.
but if you like to move apps between internal and sdcard to free up internal storage, the cyanogenmod will help since it got support for it.
otherwise differences are more if apps prefer a 2.3 android than the old 2.2.
you got some audio tweaks as well.
it might actually be better although BT and cam is not working. Cam is anyways low/low quality not much to value here. BT would have been nice to enable.
Cool - Thanks for your quick response.
Off topic question but would moving my apps to the SD card increase performance?
I've noticed the touch can be a bit laggy at times but otherwise it's a great upgrade.
I'm not a developer but is there any way I can assist with the ICS work for this device? I'm good at research
Thanks again.

well not developer related, but if you can find similar devices (OEM branded product from compal) it could be we could locate updated versions.
the A7 was sold as OEM products in europe, although still using android 2.2.
maybe you got lucky and found something?

Instagram Issue in CM 7.2 - Doesn't display picture that is taken.

Hey guys. Love this site. Anyway. Not sure if this is the right section but... I am rocking CM7.2 Nightly Feb 19 and am having an issue with the new Instagram.
When I take pictures. They don't display after they are taken in the effects windows with either the Instagram Camera of External Camera app. Anyone else experiencing this ?
It seems to work for some people on the play store that have said they also have the wildfire S... I'd assume they are rocking the stock rom thou.
Anyway. Any help would be appreciated or Update Zips etc.
I'd suggest try updating to the latest CM7.2 which is March 29th 2012. It's got latest governors, CM code and some sort of Adreno GPU libs.
http://code.google.com/p/cm7-wildfi...e-cm-7.2.0-RC1-marvel-03_29_2012.zip&can=2&q=
Thanks !!!
I did that right after I posted and it now works. I am not to sure how the whole lib thing works yet - I know it's like Linux as android is Linux but the ROM seemed to do the trick. Thanks again sir.

CM 11 vs CM 12.1 for S4 mini

For those who tried them, which works better overall?
Do both have the Stagefright fix?
Does compass work on any of them?
Anything else that doesn't work on CM?
BTW, I have a GT-I9195

Both work pretty much the same, though CM11 is probably that tiny bit more stable, bit faster, but more battery friendly. Lollipop has its bugs but "some" people don't seem to suffer the same bugs as others. It's still heavily in development but may work fine for you.
Compass was supposedly fixed in the latest build CM11 and also has latest stage fright fix. Think Lollipops compass works as I haven't seen any complaints, and as long as your using one of the latest builds should also have stage fright fixes.
Personally I'm a fan of CM11 but I use debloated stock as it has the original camera drivers. Just don't like the camera quality on custom builds. Though it's not terrible on either of them. Also some apps for me work better on stock.
In the mean time I installed 12.1.
Compass does not work.
The rest seems to work alright, but it's too early to say. I did have a couple of crashes, but not of the system itself. When I played music from two apps at once AudioFX crashed. And "Trebuchet" crashed once, don't remember how.
GPS might be taking a bit longer to get a fix than with stock, but I'm not sure.
Well, at least I hope to avoid the idle battery drain that I got on stock.
Overall the system seems fast enough, but the "fade to dark" effect after some idle time (and back to bright) is pretty choppy/slow. Not sure if that's intended or not.
Have you tried the kernel by SilviuMik for stock ROMS? Is meant to have battery fixes for standby. Though I have never suffered bad standby times, I do like this kernel.
Hi !
Yes...in reality ,objectively , there are only cm11(last release on 01/09/2015) and stocks who work fine .
At this time ,all Lollipop customs are not stable at all for daily use because umpredictables behaviors (maybe it work fine for some members but thes roms may have dysfunctions suddently with "majors big buggs)
With news big security problems ,all JB & KK customs roms are totaly "obsolete" (it's a pity because kk slim , pacman... work fine!) ,they are unusable because not secure...
-The best choice for a good daily use is a stock rom (or STE by ploiki ! Great buid !) with alexax's 0.9 kernel !!! Lighten by own debloating ...:good:
Good baterry life and good choice of parameters with "aduitor kernel"
And stock camera is good..
N5 foyr mini &S6 lollipop project seem good according to some members but i personnaly have had some problem...
-Second choice with cm11 but it's necessary to love customs and it need to replace some "poor" cm stock apps (camera...etc...)
I test the last release now but with recomended parameters , i generaly have found that the battery life is not as good as stock firmware kk&alexax kernel
I found cm11 more stable

[UNOFFICIAL/EXPERIMENTAL][ROM] Lineage 13.0 Resurrection Project ONLY for SM-T560NU

Info:
Target Device: SM-T560NU only (gtelwifiue)
OS: Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
Variant: LineageOS 13.0
Status: Usable as daily driver, but still to be considered experimental
This project is a side project of mine to bring Lineage 13.0 back to the SM-T560NU.
I recently purchased one of these, and use a few apps that have not been updated in years. These apps do not work on Nougat, therefore I needed Marshmallow.
vince2678 had a great Lineage 13.0 build, but had started to shift his efforts towards the more popular and updated Android Nougat by the time that I got this tablet. vince had started to warn that he was going to be dropping Marshmallow to focus on Nougat.
Therefore, using his code base, and attempting to apply some more modern patches to keep Lineage 13.0 up to date, I started creating my own builds in private. There was one single, obsecure link to it, on my website, and it was discovered. Since the community has shown interest in this project, and vince has now officially dropped support for 13.0, I am willing to release my private builds.
Please keep in mind that while vince's builds were designed to be as stock as possible, my builds are tailored towards my needs.
They are not perfect, but they work for me. There are still some issues to be ironed out, and sometimes new issues sneak in when you think you are just building a security update
But, since you wanted them, here they are. At the time of this post there is only one, but this will grow over time, when I have spare time to try to fix any issues and apply security updates.
All builds use my optimized kernel.
Releases and known issues:
You can find my builds over at:
https://losupd.zefie.net/builds/full/?C=M;O=D
lineage-13.0_j199_20170720
Android Security Patch Level: July 1, 2017
USB MIDI Support (example video of controlling Logic Pro X with the SM-T560NU)
No changes to previous issues in this build (same issues apply)
lineage-13.0_j196_20170617
Android Security Patch Level: June 1, 2017
AudioFX is missing (disabled in build due to unsolved issue in ROM causing crashes)
Updater is untested. You may or may not get a notification when a new build is available.
Flashing the recovery that comes with these builds is advised against. It may work but is untested. Use my TWRP Build.
Device encryption does not yet work
There is a strange issue that prevents you from taking still images using the built-in camera app. Preview and video works. As a workaround, use any third party camera app. I suggest Open Camera.
Just flashed it, everything works great so far.
Ive tried and liked very much
Smooth and lightweight
So far for me the camera dont work but i can record video
Also the encrypt tablet option does not seem to work (I select the option in the security part of the settings screen, it restarts tablet and thats it)
Other than that it seems to be perfect
Thanks for all the hard work

I knew about the encryption but the camera issue is interesting and strange. I just tried it and see what you mean.
I will see what I can do about these issues in the next update, which will probably be mid-august.
Thanks for the report.
The issue seems to be with the Camera app itself, and not any issues with communicating with the hardware (despite the error message), since other camera apps appear to work fine.
In the mean time, if you would like to take still images with this build, I would suggest this great and free (ad free as well) camera app from the play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.opencamera&hl=en
I have just tested it (with both rear and front cameras) and it can take still images.
560?
Is it compatible with T560 only ? Whats the difference between T560 and T560NU maybe US Market? or what the difference and where i can get a custom Recovery for the Tab?

This is for the T560NU only, not T560. From what I know they have entirely different processors so there is no way for a universal ROM.
Thanks for this amazing rom. I noticed following: can't change the size of analog clock and sound on the speaker is not very strong.

The clock issue is likely upstream, since I can't think of anything I did that would prevent resizing of widgets, and other widgets appear to be resizable.
But I will look into it.
Speaker issue noted, there was some issue with the internal mic being too low that I tweaked, I may have to check the values for the speaker.
Edit: personal tests show speaker volume is fine. any louder could damage the speaker. if the volume is low, check that the tablet is not laying on a soft surface or something that would otherwise muffle the speaker in the back. When not obstructed, the speaker volume seems fine to me.
Any progress on Audio FX and Camera issues?

Unfortunately I have not had the time to work on this in a while. When I don't have time I just update the source and build (and hope it works) for the security updates. This only takes a couple of minutes as the build process does all the work. One should be coming in the next few weeks. Once the automated build finishes, I test it locally for about an hour and if its good, I release it.
I am not sure when I will have time to actually sit and go through the code to try to debug it to fix the outstanding issues. This can take hours or even days of dedicated time which I just don't have at the moment due to trying to keep my bills paid.
Stay tuned to this thread for updates though, and I apologize for the delay.

After uninstalling 3rd party music app, volume is good again.
EDIT:
Unfortunately I am discontinuing this ROM. I made this ROM for my personal use, and it is no longer useful to me, and I do not have the time to debug it. Therefore, I am discontinuing it. The current builds and source will remain up, and if you guys are not having the issues I am having, and would like me to continue doing security updates, I will, so long as it still compiles without much work on my part.
There will be no updates to the existing issues though.
Despite my previous aversion to Android N, I would highly suggest vince's Lineage OS 14.1 builds. They have come a long way since I last tried them, and Android N isn't so bad after all
I haven't gotten a chance to do a logcat or anything, but I'm getting an instant bootloop after installing Nova Launcher.
It wasn't an issue until Nova updated a few weeks ago, and it affects both your builds. That's my favorite launcher, but I guess I can live without it
EDIT: I see that you're discontinuing this, so I guess this post is more of an FYI to other users.

New GCAM based in 8.4.600

I see that MGC_8.4.600_A10_V13 (BSG, 2022-06-24) is considered "stable" now.
Has anyone tried it?
I'm currently using MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV2a (because MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV2b doesn't work on my phone)
But it would be nice to see if 8.4 improves much over 8.1
