Picked up a used Nexus 5 with Marshmallow installed on it and unlocked the bootloader. Then I downloaded the latest TWRP recovery for the Nexus 5 (openrecovery-twrp-2.8.5.2-hammerhead.img) and flashed it. I can boot into TWRP recovery, but when I reboot I'm not prompted to root the phone. The phone is stuck at boot animation (I let it sit overnight). I'm using adb and have the Android SDK installed. Any suggestions?
Check nexus 5 threads. This is 5x.
I believe you need a custom kernel to root, my n5 is using bluspark. Good luck

My N7 has a unlocked boot loader, and I have been using CWM ever sense I got it. I have had several ROM's installed and always had root. When I received 5.0.2 I lost my root access, and now it is running extremely slow, do to a tons of games my son have installed. I can't control autostart without root, and yesterday, I tried flashing and rooting, I both tried with TWM and CWM, and I installed superSU from boot loader, without any errors. But still I don't have su binaries installed. Also when I install boot loader it only works doing installation.
Please advice what you try next

Download the latest recovery and do a wipe of cache and dalvik cahe. Grab the latest supersu.zip from chainfire's website and flash it in recovery and see how it is.
It literally just stays there for 10 hours doesnt do anything.
I got my screen fixed today, what I did with Nexus
-I have a Nexus 7 2013- LTE VARIANT- 32GB
I was lazy so I did all the rooting by phone.
- Downloaded flashify and towelroot
-Rooted with towelroot
-Flashed Gapps 5.0 and CM 12 using Flashify
- Also Flashed CWM using flashify
- Restarted and waited.. and got the stuck on android is upgrading....
-I tried to reset dalvik cache, I factory resetted...
What else can I do?
Hi guys,
I was recently trying to install a vanced version of youtube and I installed twrp 3.2.1-1-taimen.img on my device and i cannot get back into the OS of my device it just keeps on rebooting into TWRP every time, I can still enter fastboot by holding power and volume down but other than that I am stuck.
Do i have to reflash official pixel 2 xl oreo stock image (bootloader is unlocked and i was on stock rom anyway), if so how would i do this on a mac with only fastboot as an option.
Thanks.
Flash magisk.zip that should solve your problem. The next time twrp is enough to boot instead of flashing.

My Nexus 7 currently has SuperSU installed, this was done after using Nexus Root Toolkit (Wugfresh) to install TWRP. From what I have read I have to reinstall the stock boot.img. I tried to this via TWRP and it hosed my startup. I was able to recover by using NRT via my pc. The first time I tried installing the boot.img, I basically unpacked boot.img and then flashed it with twrp. When I rebooted, I would just see the google logo and lock at the bottom.
Phone is unlocked and rooted currently. Any point me into the right direction of why I couldn't uninstall superSU?

You would fash your boot.img via fastboot.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Hello guys. I have successfully installed pixel experience ROM to my realme 6 pro using TWRP recovery. Now, I want to root my phone and flash magisk but Everytime I tried to boot to recovery (twrp) it's just stuck on twrp logo and it won't proceed then after like few minutes it just boot to OS. Same happens when using fastboot commands.
Note: Same twrp version with the one I used to flash pixel exp.
Now this leads me to think that ,maybe, the twrp version I was using to flash pixel experience ROM won't work anymore since pixel exp is on Android 12 and that version of twrp only works on the previous versions of androids. Please help. Thanks in advance.
