Hello i looked everywhere but there is no step by step tutorial to flash htc 820u stock rom. I saw some posts telling to recover a twrp backup ect but i dont have twrp recovery installed. I guess first thing would be to download the RUU. So what is the next step? Can anyone post some info about it to make it short and simple please?

Recovery img is a custom phone recovery yes? So its overwrites stock recovery or you just need to push different buttons to turn it on
What recovery img is used for ? Do you need different recovery img for different custom ROMs
And nandroid, you can turn it in recovery mode if you failed rooting/flashing
and it backups or smth ?
Can i write recovery img/nandroid in unrooted phone.

you need to be rooted to flash a custom recovery, the recovery replaces the standard htc one (thats usless) nandroid is a part of recovery, and you can use that to back your current rom up, no you dont need to use diffrent recoverys for diffrent roms

When i finish the rooting process, so i will automatically get rooted Desire i dont need to install HTC Desire ROM rooted version ?
What do nandroid? Nandroid saves current ROM to memmory card?? so if your flashing not succeded , you can use nandroid to back ROM.

the best way to root is to use the unrevoked one click root tool, you can find it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=776696, that recovery is for slcd desires, do you have an amoled or slcd desire?

the unrevoked tool will root both amoled and slcd desires, i dont have a slcd on tho so i dont know if they need a diffrent recovery to amoled ones, maybe someone with a slcd screen can shed some light
I followed droid-den guide and have rooted Desire SLCD using unrevoked for mac. Make sure you select the SLCD recovery as mentioned in the guide.
I justed rooted an SLCD Desire with the latest unrevoke3, nothing to choose, just run and click ok and it worked.
Be wary of guides on websites, they're usually out of date. As is that one.

Install a stock rom or check my Sig for the backup collection and get it there if it's available. And read the thread carefully !!!
Can someone who is experienced please give byte step by step instructions on how to go about this? I did it before, but somehow forgot how to do it. I have the AT&T variant to be specific..... And also in order to flash the skydragon gpe Rom, I need to be s-off correct? If I'm wrong please let me know.....

1: there are toolkits or just by fastboot commands. refresh your memory by reading some fastboot tutorials.
2: no you do not need s-off to install skydragon. you need to be on the latest firmware/hboot (3.19) but i think thats described in the opening post of the ROM so read up in there too

Hello you too. First you go to unlock your bootloader (htcdev.com), then download twrp and flash it via fastboot command (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img, rename twrp recovery to recovery) Second download supersu package and flash it via recovery (twrp) Third download s.rom and flash it ? simply. You dont need s-off or change firmware. ?
You don't need to install superuser before flashing the rom. The rom is already rooted.
The term "root my phone" is wrong. You give the software (rom) root access. That's all.

i have a rooted with TWRP HTC M9 on EE/Orange UK network and i've just being informed that i have a new update (marchmellow) i saved my old update download , and what i used to do is on my old HTC M7 phone i reinstalled the old recovery file in TWRP and then i could update the software to the phone to the latest version .
i don't seen to be able to do this on my HTC M9 !!! when the phone was updated before i saved the recovery file and when i try to update the latest software version i reinstall the recovery file in TWRP and download the update , when i try to update the phone i get a Red triangle . can anyone help please.

I believe you need to restore the system too.
Check out the below thread and follow the instructions, the section for OTA's is below step 4, but make sure you have the files mentioned from step 3.
