In light of the QFuse discovery in the 6P, anyone know if the 5X has it?

They are both based on Qualcomm chip's it is very likely that both have QFuse in them.
I suppose so, but did the 805 in the Nexus 6 have it? What about the LG G4 since it has the came cpu as the 5x?

I can't verify about the 805 in the Nexus 6, but the LG G4 does based on what RC/RD autoprime mentioned about it here.

I see. Thank you for the info.
I guess this means we can't unlock the bootloader without possibly voiding warranty or lowering resell value.
I'd like to see them try voiding a warranty for a hardware issue due to unlocking a bootloader.
I see no mention of this qFuse stuff on the bootloader/fastboot screen on my 5x?

Doesn't matter to me. Unlocking the bootloader was the first thing I did when I got the phone. My bootloader shows the same thing as above except that DEVICE STATE is unlocked. And red. And there's a stupid security warning that Google built into it that displays on every boot to remind you that your phone is no longer secure. Damn it's annoying.

Maybe that's a boot image thing rather than the bootloader? (I hope so)
My N5X has arrived and I can not see the qfuse in the bootloader either, and without knowing what to type in fastboot, we won't know if it does have one unless someone finds evidence.
To be fair, I had a Nexus 5 that I RMA'd for a hardware fault with the "has been unlocked" flag still set, and they repaired it for free...

We need someone with a 6P to test if there's any flag for qfuse in their getvar all, see if there is actually one in the 5X
Is there like anything unsafe about this besides voiding the warranty?

I found two interesting places in the misc partition that make something with bootloader.
Usually the command "fastboot oem gencheckpt" generates:
Code:
...
(bootloader) active commandline: board_marvel.disable_uart3=0 board_marve
(bootloader) l.usb_h2w_sw=0 board_marvel.disable_sdcard=0 diag.enabled=0
(bootloader) board_marvel.debug_uart=0 smisize=0 userdata_sel=0 androidbo
(bootloader) ot.emmc=false androidboot.pagesize=2048 androidboot.baseban
(bootloader) d=7.54.39.28M androidboot.cid=HTC__032 androidboot.batt_powe
(bootloader) ron=good_battery androidboot.carrier=HTC-EastEurope androidb
(bootloader) oot.mid=PG7610000 androidboot.keycaps=qwerty androidboot.mod
(bootloader) e=recovery androidboot.serialno=X androidboot.boo
(bootloader) tloader=1.09.0099 zygote_oneshot=off kmemleak=off no_console
...
(bootloader) Delay 99993(us) for dpram command before goto AMSS...
There is one more parameter called radioflag (nice name ). It starts at 0x00001020.
radioflag=0x12345678:

We receive:

(bootloader) e=recovery androidboot.serialno=X androidboot.boo
(bootloader) tloader=1.09.0099 zygote_oneshot=off kmemleak=off [b]radioflag=[/b]
(bootloader) [b]0x12345678[/b] no_console_suspend=1 console=null
...
The second adress is 0x0000C40.
It is responsible for few parameters, like board_marvel.disable_uart3, board_marvel.usb_h2w_sw, board_marvel.disable_sdcard, diag.enabled.
Code:
...
(bootloader) active commandline: board_marvel.disable_uart3=1 board_marve
(bootloader) l.usb_h2w_sw=0 [b]board_marvel.disable_sdcard=1 diag.enabled=1[/b]
...
[b](bootloader) atag_add_blob(off=2053, tag=54410021) 3[/b]
...
After changing byte to 02h diag.enabled=0 becomes diag.enabled=1. Maybe it creates the way to run DIAG... somehow...
Warning: it's very risky to play with 0x0000C40, because you can easy block communication with your PC. For example: after "erase_image misc" you still can access adb and restore your misc partition because 00 is the standard value of 0x0000C40. I don't want to write how hard is restore misc if there is written the bad value. Just do it only when you know what you are doing!
PS. Some RUUs change values in 0x0000C40 but it is rather not important.
Who first finds out what radioflag is for, wins the beer.

I screwed up misc partition once by writing before erasing. It was a whole mess.
what happened:
- no working sd
- no working usb (only in fastboot mode)
- not possible to boot up device, bootloop
and other bad things. but I got it repaired.
misc contains some information to make the kernel params.
but yeh, it's mysterious. I'll have a look
---------- Post added at 12:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:19 AM ----------
my misc partition only shows 00 at your offsets.
hmmm
Ok. Quick question each of previous posters...
Are you S-On or S-Off?
These might well be the secu flags xtc clip (or other methods) wipe out...
If so, you might well have identified the block...
Which could then theoretically allow for unlocking/relocking radio.
We never get that lucky though.. but worth the question.

About the MISC
Hi to everyone here .I wonder how to recover Misc partition to check for excample the values the space availability and anyway i am curious what , is going in there .?My edition is 002 (hboot). What at last!! is the difference between 001 edition .i am rooted since 2011 and i have full access on rooting suppose..I am flashed my phone more than 40 times and no prob till now ..I wonder if someone can answer detailing please about NAND reliability??Anyway how this tiny chip stands in no error strongly into time- after so many formats into there??That device is standing reliable like a rock! Also there is a reason yet i am asking .A friend (same mobile) had no prob till the last week flashed some 2.3.7 different roms started to face a prob that 'drive home' app shows into the notification bar even after many formats and deleting the app using root explorer for excample. He reflashed the recovery and uses 4.0.1.4 everytime.
the problem remained the sameAlso he has prob on usb driver connect on some roms,if that helps better..I suppose that something like bud sector stuck into its internal memory!!and can not be fully formmated ..??How can someone format The misc form the start and check the health inside there??Is that possible on your knowledge??Thanks a lot, regards, and hope someone can reply for a solution:good:

I think this error is usually due to wrong stock recovery.
What stock recovery did you flash?

Try this RUU.zip. It should be for your model, I believe.
If it fails to flash, it isn't the right one. So if that happens, post the results of fastboot getvar all minus your IMEI and serial#, and I'll see what I can do for you.

That's a flashable stock ROM.zip not RUU.zip

Answered to the other post(s) you made. Go look there.
Also, no point in say you "tried lot" (RUUs) if you aren't going to bother listing the version numbers or file names.
Another thing, don't post your IMEI online. It is personal info, and not needed to help or advise you.

The phone would randomly reboot itself at some point without even installing any apps yet....
now I installed this ROM : https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/development/rom-resurrection-remix-v5-8-0-t3507210
still the same problem is happening...
I tried clearing cache and other stuff( Format )
Didn't help.

After flashing the RUU you have this issue ?
It's not a good sign as it indicate to a hardware issue
My suggestion is to flash the RUU again and if it still looping then there is nothing we can do ( sorry about that )
