Hey, Guys!
I was wondering if someone would know where i can find the registry entry responsable for the mic volume?
My Lumia 930 has a issue with its microphone (the microphone recorded sound is really really low) and i thought about it and there may be a way to fix it by software, cause i don't wanna send it to the repair center.
(Oh, it's clearly a hardware problem).
(off, but related) i want to increase the amount of time the music controls stay on the screen after i press the volume rocker, been through a lot of registry entries, no luck so far. any ideas?
I had similar idea, but instead of increasing sensitivity I thought of simply changing the microphone that is used for hands-free talk from the malfunctioning top one to the bottom one. Anyone found that registry key?
use old nokia camera for video rec.
There is no such a thing like microphone listed in registry
"the microphone recorded sound is really really low" - HW fault

Is there a way of lowering the speaker volume?
When I am on a call, despite having the volume set to the minimum, it is still too loud.
Anything I can do?
Same for me here. If anyone knows a way please let us know
Have you guys actually lowered the phone volume to minimum, or the PDA volume by mistake, there are two sliders, if I set the phone to minimum you cannot hear a thing! - or when answering a call are you holding the answer button too long causing the phone to use Speaker phone volume - Mike
My Orbit is the same,
Same Problem here.
I set the speaker volume while talking to minimum and it stays too loud.
Hi!
I have the same problem.... unfortunately it can not be solve, with the volume level setting..
I have the HTC P3300 and have no problem with the volume however would love to increase it a bit louder. Is there a tweak for this?
Thanks,
In call speaker volume is to loud also
I've got the same problem. Eventhough I set call volume to minimum the speaker is much to load. Any of you found a solution to this problem?
Same here....volume way to amplified
I have the same problem,
One minute my phone was fine - sounded great, 5 minutes later when I used it again the "In-Call" volume and "Speaker" volume are WAY to loud.
Anybody got a clue as to why this is happening and how to fix it, its driving me mad!
(I hope this is a software fault and not hardware)
Thanks,

Ok so the phone was still in warrenty. T-mobile sent an RMA bag (RM special delivery) for me to send the phone to their repairs:
http://www.sbe-ltd.co.uk/
I sent the phone and reported the problem as "in-call speaker distorted". The repair was made and completed the next day (yesterday) then sent back via special delivery so my phone should arrive back today.
I doubt SBE have fixed the problem. They most likely watched the phone turn on then sent it back. But we will see. If they have not fixed it I will be replacing the "in-call" speaker myself. I will post the guide here if it solves the problem.
MDa II "in-call" speaker FIXED
SBE returned the phone and completed the repair. Im assuming all they did is replace the "in call" speaker. For those who cannot RMA the phone I suggest a search for MDA III internal speaker on the bay then follow the dissasembly guide and replace.
Hope this helps!
Volume still too loud
UPDATE
After the unit was RMA'd i realised that infact they had not fixed the problem. The ring and incall volume is still WAY to loud.
When I recieve a call i have the incall speaker (when you have the handset next to your head/ear) set to the lowest setting and the sound is almost defening, if i have it on the highest setting it distorts the speaker and is inaudiable.
This is a problem with the phones hardware or software and not the wrong settings. Can anyone please help, is their a registry setting for general volume settings that can be adjusted?
Thanks for your help,
Andy.
I had the same issue, but this was after i had tampered with the registry settings to increase the volume on the wired earphones. It is a fine balance! Suggest re-installing the OS to get back to deault settings if you have been in the registry
Hi All
Perhaps a dopey question, but...
My TP2 has an odd habit of changing the system volume by itself. I set it to 100% and some time later, i find it changed to 40%. I thought it might be an app (MP3 player or something) tethered to the sys volume, but no - it seems to be a quirk.
I do find that sometimes i just can't toggle the volume for the earpiece quite loud enough on some calls using the side volume rocker - for all else on this standard ROM it is just fine.
So, i wondered f there was a reg tweak to slightly increase just the earpiece volume?
Obviously it would still be relieant on the sys vol, but could be a little louder?
Anyone heard of something specifically for the TP2?
Cheers to all

Hi, I didn't found any similar problems, so I start new thread.
I have LG KS20 and changed some ROMs on it, but the problem remains the same.
When I call somebody or somebody calls me, he hears strange sounds similar to if I'd be near some big speakers, not echo, but you know, when you put the phone near audio speaker, you hear these sounds. After about 10 seconds it becomes silent and almost gone. I think it has something to do with inner microphone and speaker, I should say the microphone is overboosted, so when I get in call, it after 10 seconds automatically controls itself quiet, but when a new call, it starts over again. However I didn't find in registry anything related with mic gain control, I should try to minimize it's boost at first.
Do you have any thoughts how to fix that strange sound?
I have the same problem,
Does someone know a solution
And I have that problem, did anyone tried with handsfree is it same or is it better?
I should try that soon, also I will maybe try to clean mic somehow...
Anyone help?
Hi,
Quick question about the way this device records sound. Its by far the best phone ive ever used to record sound, however i keep running into a problem with volume levels. It never stays constant and fluctuates depending on whether the sound is loud or quiet.
Now that wont make sense at first so heres a link to a video i shot in the studio with some friends.

Note at around 2:20 in the volume changes quite dramatically. I assure you, in real life the volume of the sound was constant throughout the song, the only change was that both guitars had stopped playing, thus decreasing the decibel level slightly (the guitar sounds at that point were from the effects pedals), which surely wouldve made it quieter if anything
I dont believe this a manufacturing defect as ive had it on the past 4 HOX's i owned, but perhaps more to do the way the sound is processed. It is the same result recording in mono/stereo/720/1080 etc.
EDIT Just remembered, i had to turn my speakers up all the way to hear that properly so the recording level is far too quiet as it is. I can barely hear it through the phones speaker.
Yeah got same problem,
I did turn the stereo off in video options which did improve it. Give it a go and turn the Stereo feature off.
The sound was not dropping as much,
I tested this out at a footy match.

Thats a temporary fix i suppose, it did improve it though it didnt fix it for me.
Does anybody know if this is something that is likely to be resolved by a software update? Or can anybody recommend any apps to record this type of thing with if it is a software issue.
Hi, after having so many accidents in liquids and fixing my redmi, the top microphone has given out the ghost, and very ocasionally starts inputting static, the bigger annoyance comes when I record videos, which I do very often, because I have to delete the silent/noisy channel and mix them into mono, is there a way to disable said microphone so it doesn't interfere in calls (I have to eat the bottom mic so peaople can hear me)
I'm not replacing it so I want a workaround
Thanks in advance
