Tutorial? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Ok I've been searching and searching and I have no idea how to root this phone.
I thought a tutorial or video would be out by now.
Could someone maybe take the time in making a full detailed tutorial with step by step instructions with maybe included screenshots and drawings to show how to root?
Pretty stumped and that Atrium rom is calling my name.

There is a thread in the general section that the title is “root and recovery for the 928T has arrived" it has step by step with instructions and a couple links to get the files you need. Be sure you follow to the letter and read the thread over and over to make sure you do it right. You will most definitely need to delete the fingerprints you have stored before you get started. And activate developer options and turn on oem unlock in those settings too. If you still don't feel comfortable I would make sure you get that way before you get started. This isn't as easy as the Samsung phones of the past.

I was in the same boat like you bro but after hours of searching a tuto I remembered how to root the note 3 and it is almost the same but here you have to be sure unlock the OEM unlock after enable the USB debuggin, flash the TWRP-2.8.7.1+zentle with odin v3.10.7 but after flash you have to enter recovery mode quickly, make a backup and flash the [KERNEL] Stock Modified Kernel | TouchWiz | Auto-Root + Busybox
all thanks to the hard work of the XDA developers:good::highfive::victory:

[Q] Unlocking my SGH-T999 with Jellybean 4.1 Update

Hey all,
I have NEVER tried to unlock or root a phone before, but I have the desire to try it now.
I have the T-mobile SGH-T999 with the new Android Jellybean 4.1.1 (Build Number JRO0L.T999UVDLJA)
I want to try to root my phone, but I would like to keep as much of the the new update (Jellybean) as possible instead of reverting to ICS. What I'm wondering is, what should I do to root the phone, and what programs are preffered, etc. Also, I was wondering how to back up my current build in case I want to set it back to default in case of warranty issues that I had to return it.
I am sure others have asked... maybe this would be a good sticky, I don't know... but I am hoping someone will take the time to point me in the right direction.
I need to know
a.) What I need to backup pre-root
b.) What software is best to root
c.) Any special instructions for rooting that may be specific for this build or this phone
d.) How to un-root in case I need to return the phone.
Any help would be appreciated, and apologies in advance if this is a repeated question. I just figured I'd ask because of the new update.
Thanks!

I would think the easiest is to use the root injected rom from this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771687
It is what I did and I have full root access and stock rom with no counter tripped. Backup preroot will be difficult but as long as everything is set up with google, you should be able to get all of your contacts back but not settings. Once rooted, you can use titanium backup. Great program. If you want to unroot you can use the same method you used to root but you can just odin back to the original rom again. If you like my response please click on Thanks.
Thanks!
I took a look at the thread you sent me, and have contacted the original member to get step by steps, just to make sure I dont screw it up.
Hopefully it will work as desired.
Thanks for your help and response!

The person who wrote the thread may or may not have time to give a more detailed run-through.
I used that thread to root my phone - honestly, all the instructions have already been given in it. I have never done anything like this and I just followed the instructions as given - the process is covered completely. I'm not sure what more they could tell you.
Not trying to be rude. Just understand that they have already provided a full guide and it might be more considerate to ask questions to the open forum about any step that is troubling you - that way anyone who has free time can answer.

Thanks for that, I guess I just wanted to make sure I wasn't leaving anything to chance. Since the phone is a pretty penny, I didn't want to be screwed if I tried to root and somehow screwed up the phone.
I'll see if he responds in the next few days, if not, I'll give it a go.
thanks again!

It's so easy, you'd be hard pressed to screw it up.
Step 1): Download the Samsung USB Drivers from their site
Step 2): Download the pre-rooted stock firmware from the previously listed link here at xda(make sure you get the 4.1 with root)
Step 3): Download ODIN
Step 4): Plug phone into PC and launch ODIN
Step 5): Click "PDA" and then browse to the firmware you downloaded
Step 6): Hit Flash.
Step 7): Wait, wait some more. Wait more.
Step 8): Watch phone reboot and sweat manically as its your first time and you think you've bricked your phone.
Step 9): Tinker like a madman when your phone comes back and you see its rooted.
Step 10 through ifiniti): Continue to tinker, eventually find rom manager and aftermarket roms. some good, some bad.
PM me if you want and I can walk you through it via IM or something. I can even throw you my rom, which is essentially stock with all the tmobile BS removed.
Awesome (Easy) walkthrough

And then, if I need to send it back, I'd have to unroot the phone too, so I wanted to make sure I saved whatever I needed to. As for using yoru version without the bloatware, the bloatware doesn't bother me, since I use the Visual Voicemail, and the My Account features to manage the account for my wife and I. I just want to make sure I'm injecting the right stuff.

You can always run a debloated rom and then reinstall the tmobile specific stuff.

how to put custom ROM ???

.Hey guys I'm new in this world of rooting ...maybe know someone how to put Omega 7.2 ROM into the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SGH-I317M. ????
First off there is a Q&A section for questions. They don't go here.
Second that's an international rom you can't just simply flash it like the roms in the Development section. This link can tell you how to port it but if you are new you probably shouldn't try it.

NightHawk hit the nail on the head. It would be best for you right now to read up and learn as much as you can about how the forum works as a whole and how development and custom roms recoveries etc work in general.....Here is a good place to start!
My note 2 is on its way,in the mean time ill be reading alot.

A lot of us would suggest you take a bit of time to read up on what you will need. I short a safe bet is to read twice and flash once. Doing any sort of flashing will void your warranty and you run the risk of damaging your phone. Granted most mishaps are fixable with knowledge and experience. For you however, having a bootloop or a soft brick would not be fun.
I suggest you get the proper drivers for your version of the n2
I suggest you read up on how to root the note 2: read the entire thread...yes it is repetitive, but at least you get an idea of what can go wrong and how to fix it be reading what happened to others. Then decide on what recovery you would like....read up on cwm or twrp and how to install them properly. once you have done all that...then it is time to flash a custom rom.
I think I would recommend you do a bit more reading before deciding wether rooting and flashing a custom rom is for you
There is a lot to absorb when first looking to install a custom rom. I'm a visual person so I like youtube a lot. When you find the forum that suits your particular device, there will usually be a thread something along the lines of "all you need to know about (your phone here)". My own method of learning was to make a list of each individual task that I needed to do and then youtube it to see someone doing it in person so I can get an idea of what it looks like.
Usually the steps to a custom rom are:
1) Root:
methods can differ among devices and developers (youtube your phone for root)
2) Install a custom "recovery"
will typically be either Clockworkmod or TWRP. I've only ever used clockworkmod but people say good things about TWRP also. The custom recovery will be where you "flash" (install) the rom as well as perform other functions such as wipe casche, wipe dalvic, fix permissions, etc., all of which are fairly self explanatory once you finally boot into the recovery, but again, youtube your phone for all of these things. Even seeing it on other phones can be a big help also, as long as what you are trying to accomplish is the same between the devices.
3)Pick a rom, download it to your phone, boot into recovery and follow the directions that the developer will leave in the OP. Someone mentioned read twice, flash once. Great advice. Make sure to have all your ducks in a row and are confident about each step you will be taking. Skipping a step or doing it incorrectly can cause serious headaches and can derail you for hours trying to figure out how to fix it if you are not already familiar with what to do.
Best of luck!!!

well done and i completely agree, but for someone who's so new you musn't forget to install the drivers for the device you have onto your pc or laptop or whatever is going to run Odin for you.... no drivers is the easiest and fastest way to ensure your shiny new device is on the short bus to not working right
it is often overlooked and ppl presume that they just do it - installing the drivers that is - and it's often mentioned in the rooting thread, but only in passing.
if you do not have the proper drivers your 700+ dollar device will not last long so do yourself a favor and make sure you have them installed properly and that your computer detects the device properly
when you plug into odin you should see a yellow background with COM and a number in it (changes depending on the usb port you are plugged into) if you don't have that, don't click the start button cuz you gonna be in the hurt locker in all likelihood even if you follow the instructions to a T.
I'm relatively new to all of this, only rooting my Evo, and now my Note 2.
I cannot stress enough how correct all the previous replies are. Read everything you can about your device and rooting in general. Use Youtube. Use this forum, use any information you can find. Learn the language(it can be tricky). Learn as much as possible and ask questions....just make sure you look for the answers before asking them.
Once you feel comfortable, the Devs do a solid job of making it easy for us, follow the steps and you should have success.
Here is a link to some terminology.....make sure to thank ThC23!

Setting Up Questions

I have rooted/flashed a few android phones now, roms and all that and from a quick glance at the Note 2 information, seems like it is much more complicated then normal.
What I want to do is, root my Note 2 (SGH-I317M) and then flash a custom ROM on it.
So I found the page with all the tutorials and stuff, and found this post.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1980644
But it seems like it's meant to be used with the stock rom. Which I want a custom one.
Am I missing something? Should I use this tutorial, another one that I seem to have missed?
Found this one as well, but again, stock rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2004650
that seems pretty complicated to me. I have never used chainfire for that reason. I am sure it is easy to do but s c r e w it.
All I had to do was download a single .tar file if I remember correctly, via odin on Windows dual booted on my Macbook. Takes about 5-10 minutes I would say. Try http://galaxynote2root.com/ after you have root you probably want to install TWRP to make things easy. Get rooted first and then we can talk about flashing roms.
There is also the Exynos exploit where you can download an apk and root the phone in about a minute
Thanks man, that does seem to be much better.
Forgot to ask.
I don't see it on the site. Can the root be undone easily?
http://galaxynote2root.com/ when following that tutorial?
*sorry, found it. http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-n...ootunbrick-galaxy-note-2-with-stock-firmware/

QUESTION on how its done,

I've been tweaking other android devices before but flo's process kind of confuses me.
on my android device Skyfire 2.0 a clone copy of Karbonn Tinatium S5 and Blue Studio 5.0 S
The process runs like this
1st. Root Device,
2nd. Install Custom Recovery
3rd. (Optional) Make a Nandroid Backup
4th. Install tweaks or Flash roms,
but while reading here I come across different tutorials also that thing about unlocking bootloader,
so can anyone clear the exact process I have to follow?
The instructions on how every step is done are fine, I can backread on that, just the exact flow of steps I should follow if I want to install a custom ROM,
Thanks in advance
(Sorry if I posted it here on main forum, I just didn't get a proper response on my Q & A comment, )

uhmm, correct me if I'm wrong,
so that link will literally do everything for me?
If I do it manually
first root? then unlock? then install recovery and lastly, resume with installing roms?
I'm a noob in this device, totally clueless haha

[Q] Help downgrading my device to kk

I've been reading the forums searching for help downgrading from Lollipop to Kitkat, but I haven't found much. A few threads say that there's some other thread with all the information, but I haven't been able to find it. there are some things i can't fully access from my work computer but i`ll try to help the best i can until someone else pitches in
first thing i recommend doing is setting usb debugging on your phone, you can google how to do that if you haven't already
second is to install your phone drivers on your PC (for me it's typically just plugging in my phone and letting it install)
third download the stock at&t note 4 kitkat firmware which can be found here. just click the link until you find the download option (can't access this further), i've used it to downgrade a couple weeks ago.. if the file is a .rar/.zip/.7zip unzip it, if its a .tar or .md5 you are good to go.
fourth download "odin" you can do a google search for it, i used odin 3.09 and 3.10, generally 3.09 is recommended. odin is what you will use to push firmwares on galaxy devices (and some others)
fifth once all of the above is done, open odin as admin w/ your phone connected to your PC already and you should see a "COM" port thats visible, that means your device is recognized. click the "AP" spot and find the .tar or .md5, once that is done click start and do not mess with any other
options - if you still feel uncomfortable do a google search for a youtube video on downgrading
also downgrading will remove anything on your phone excluding your micro SD card
warning: i know there is another link someone here that has more steps in odin for doing a downgrade so i apologize if the link is that one.. also, once you downgrade your phone will start the OTA back to lollipop at some point, i advise you learn how to freeze the update if you don't know already, myself personally i used greenify but there are other options
lastly, there is a thread with the stock lollipop update you can push to your device using odin as well, if you want to upgrade again & not take the OTA to do so.. hope this helps somewhat and good luck!
You could always take a quick trip to att device service and they will downgrade it for u or even best buy too if your scared to do it manually via odin.
