how to recovered deleted DCIM folder / enable Mass Storage Mode - HTC One X

Two days ago I accidentally deleted my DCIM folder (there're also other folders inside). I tried using many recovery software, most windows software can only detect drives. There's only MTP and PTP but no USB Mass Storage Mode so those software cannot even detect my phones. I also tried many USB enabler apps, go developer settings and enable Android Debugging but all that don't work :crying: I need help!!
Device: HTC One X
ROM: AICP 10.0- UNOFFICIAL 20150903 New Layout
Android Version: Lollipop 5.1.1

You can't recovery anything you are on new layout and there no option to use USB Mass Storage option. Search some other program thet maybe support MTP devices
maybe you can try this and report back

Thanks, I tried it and here's what happen:
When I press mount in recovery, it shows only DisableMTP/EnableMTP button, able to connect via MTP but still cannot detect as drive. By the way, I am using TWRP 2.8.5.1BiG New Layout unofficial.

[MOD]{CM9} Enable USB Mass Storage

I know there are many of us that use programs like Airdroid to get files into our phones but transferring large files can be time consuming if. Im not sure if i am the only one but CM9 nighties for the nitro has no USB MASS storage. I was able to mix a couple of things to get it working on the Nitro.
First Head to this thread to download the flash-able zip file or you can follow the given instructions. It is a script that can be flashed with Recovery on our phones that will enable usb mass storage.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23880938&postcount=35
once you have that flashed, I cleared my cache and dalvik cache to be safe and flashed it again (you may not need to). When that is ready and your phones has booted, plug the phone to your computer via USB. All of the drivers should install except 1 which should be called MTP USB Device. It will try to install but at the end it will fail.
At this point, go to device manager and look for the MTP USB Device
Note: it should have a yellow triangle next to the icon.
You will then Right click and choose select update driver. Select 'browse my computer for drivers' and then choose "Let me pick drivers to install". You will get two options select the USB Mass storage and click OK.
Note: The new driver will be called Linux file CD Gadget
Unplug your phone from the computer and then back it. When the USB mass storage pops up in your phone, click connect and the media card should appear in the pc like a regular usb card.
Thanks to VAXXi for creating the sript and desean for compiling it into a flashable zip (both at the Samsung Galaxy S II forums in XDA) and thanks to sameer.verma at the androidcommunity forums for the explanation on how to update the MTP driver.
Disclaimer: I have only tried this on Windows 7 (Home Premium) 64-bit computer and on a USB 2.0 Port (will not work on USB 3.0). I am also not responsible for any damages to your phone. DO A NANDROID BACKUP TO BE SAFE! I also do not guaranteeing that it will work for you.
*Sigh* You wasted a lot of work. All you have to do is install the LG drivers on your computer and go into USB settings on your phone and change the mode from MTP to USB mass storage.

I've never been able to get USB mass storage to work in CM9 myself. I have LG drivers installed, and even though I have it set to USB mass storage, it still keeps looking for a MTP driver.
Got a link for the lg USB drivers?
Sent from my LG-P930 using xda premium
Ohhh, I forgot, you have to go into device manager and manually update the device driver to use the USB mass storage driver. Once you do it once, though, your device will always be recognized by your PC as a mass storage.

I never knew that this was possible from the beginning. But hey now its out here for others to see.' it didn't take me long. Only like 10 minutes max. I only use this to transfer large files (movies or a large amount of music), everything else I do on airdroid
it took me a long time to figure out where the **** the damn usb settings are,
it's
system settings>>storage>>click the search button bottom left to open usb computer connection settings window, click enable mass storage.
damn thing is buried deep!
Yeah it is. It took me a while to figure it out too. My default from the beginning was actually mass storage mode. I had to find it to figure out what people were talking about in regards to MTP. While we're on the subject, MTP also works with the LG drivers, but I find that switching between the two can be a pain in the ass and sometimes requires removing devices from device manager to make device manager select the correct driver.
.....
At this point, go to device manager and look for the MTP USB Device
I could not find MTP USB Device! there is none!!
I am on Win7 ultimate 32 bits + LG drivers installed + [ROM] HO!NO! CM9 "Full Throttle"

Go to Settings > Storage > press Menu button > USB computer connection > select Mass Storage.
Then connect USB cable and wait until Windows fails to find the driver for MTP USB Device. Then it will show up in Device Manager under the "Portable devices" category.
Thanx it worked now
The damn hidden Menu button
I had to use the method in the original post to get it to work. I tried the other methods mentioned here, but the only one that worked was that of the original post. Thanks!
Resurrecting a fairly old thread, but I have tried, without success, to enable USB Mass Storage on CM10. Is it even available in CM10 yet? The menu/search hardware key does nothing but click when tapping while in Settings>Storage. No luck in Device Manager/Updating Driver either. Drivers are installed on my machine. Anybody else attempted this yet?
EDIT: Disregard, solved, credit to this post---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29425905&postcount=212
Nice.

not working
First of all check the wire and port. Maybe something is loose?
Second: Go to device manager, does it find the phone there? If it does, right click on it and select uninstall. Then disconnect the device and reboot. When it's rebooted attach the device again.

Maybe your phone was damage. Did you recently bought that phone? If yes, then the concern maybe is the device itself.
But try install the latest driver for LU6200 [Make sure to download it in LG Mobile Korea] and maybe it would help. Make sure the computer is detecting your phone as you connect it.
Hope this will help you.

Yes Its Not Only Detecting but i Also Put my Phone On Download Mode (Pressing Power+Vol Down) and Flashed Successfully Engineer ICS KDZ File ,The Whole Process Was Done with No Error
But Still Same Mass Storage Problem.........
mass storage is disabled in ics engineer version.
you can try to enable it with adb: "adb shell /system/bin/sdutil ums enable"
or if it doesnt work, use an android software manager like mobilego to access your mass storage.
Thnksss But.....

[Q] Question about Mounting HOX

Hi guys idk if this is common thing(issue) but everytime i connect my HOX to my computer mounts 2 units. 1 as MTP device(25.2 GB) and 1 as Mass Storage(16 MB) and everytime it asks if i want to format the Mass storage drive. Anyone with a hint what it is wrong with my device? I'm on ARHD 19.2 nad Kozmik 008 if that matters. Thanks in advance.
Have you had this issue with other ROMs?
Try to enable/disable debugging
Delete any drivers that's related to your device and install them again.

If I disable usb debugging the pc shows the mtp device only.

It's down to 2 possibilities now, it's either you PC fault, or the ROM's
to make sure, you need to get access to another PC , enable usb debugging back and connect your device to the other PC and see what happens
depending on the result , we'll work from there
and i'll need some more info about your PC (Windows/Linux?) and what edition

USB Problem

I have formatted my desktop computer few days back and since then I cant connect my One X to my PC
I have searched all the thread but cant find a solution to my problem therefor I am creating this new thread..
Here are the points
1) Installed latest HTC drivers
2) My other phone gets connected without any problem that means only my one x is having the problem
3) I am using kitkat aosp rom maybe thats why my computer cant detect the phone
4) When I connect my phone to computer, it starts to install the drivers. All drivers get installed successfully except "Android Phone" and device manager shows Android Phone with a yellow exclamation mark.
5) adb commands dont show any device connected.
6) I tried to enable and disable usb debugging
7) I tried to boot into bootloader and then fastboot commands work (I tried erase cache and devices commands)
8) So is there any way I can use adb commands from my computer while my phone is booted ?
try this
1)disable debug mode then connect your phone and mount sd card
2)if above step doesnt work, enable debug mode, connect your phone, mount sd card then disable debug mode.
or
3)mount sd card from recovery
or
4)use sense rom
since I flashed kitkat rom, i have to disable usb debugging before clicking 'turn on usb storage'. Only then my pc will detect my phone

Actually USB mass storage works without any problem. I disable usb debugging and usb mass storage works.. I am not having any problem with that. My problem is that I cant use adb commands on my phone since adb cant detect my phone...

Me too. adb doesn't detect my phone after kitkat. But I don't use adb that much. Do let me know anyways if there's any solution

Gotta try that, I have the same problem. ADB over wifi works fine, and so does fastboot with the cable connected.
