Flashed XstreStoLite and now SmartSwitch does not recognize my device. - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

So after I flashed XstreStoLite 2.4, which is awesome, SmartSwitch will no longer recognize my device. It just says "Failed to connect to device". My computer recognizes my device just fine, but no luck with SmartSwitch. Does anyone know of a fix for this, or maybe just a work around? I just need my contacts restored. I appreciate it, guys.

[Q] USB Storage doesn't show up in windows 7

I have not had this problem until recently and not sure what has caused it. My phone is not showing up when I mount my SD card. Also undetected by ADB. I have tried multiple cables, different computers, and also reformatted my computer and installed fresh drivers just in case. My phone does however show up in Odin and I can flash a modem no problem. I was thinking about wiping my phone back to stock and going from there, but I am afraid that will not fix it and I will be stuck at stock. =(
Thanks,
Jaculop
Had the same problem. Had to reload the drivers even though my other Epic was recognized just fine.

Same here, its' like it woked one day and didn't the next. I had 2 problems, one was the fact that only half of the usb jacks on the front of my desktop work (dumbass), and I had to re-install the drivers found on Samsung.com. My computer also will not recognize the sd card until you turn on mass storage from the drop down menu on the phone after the usb is connected.
What I did was turn on USB debugging, connected the phone in the drop down menu, then went int control panel>device manager> and looked for either "Other" or something in the USB connections. I found Samsung Android. I clicked that and hit update drivers from Windows Update. It took like 30 minutes to load all the necessary drivers then connected fine after that.
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling drivers. I am pretty sure I have tried the update driver thing through device manager, with it saying I already had an update to do driver. I have also tried with/without debugging and also manually selecting use as a mass storage device. Just kinda weird it shows up in device manager, just ADB doesn't recognize it or as a mass storage device. I am starting to think it is something more with my phone as it doesn't show up on other computer and tried other cables. May just say screw it and try Odin.

You can uninstall the drivers, then let Windows Update find the drivers again. It needs 5 drivers altogether. My problem was similiar. It wouldn't recognize my phone with USB debugging on, yet had no problem recognizing my other Epic so was sure my phone was screwed up. After Odin it did recognize it but wouldn't after rooting and putting on a GB leak ROM but again the other phone was fine. Forced driver update and has worked fine ever since. Although one phone shows up as F and the other as E. Not worried as long as it works...lol.
I uninstalled the Galaxy S 64bit drivers but the uninstall option that came with the package. I plugged in my phone, it attempted to find drivers and said unsuccessful. I click, search automatically and it comes back with nothing.
Also it says it is Samsung CDMA Technologies.
Edit: I just tried manually updating the drivers by pointing to the driver location instead of using the provided installation. I see only 4 drivers installed. Samsung USB Composite Device, Samsung Mobile Modem Diagnostics, and one other I am unable to find the name of.
There is also a CDC driver.

I fixed the problem. In case anyone else runs into it, it's simple to fix. I was afraid to ODIN back to stock in case something was wrong and unable to root/cwm again, but I grew some balls did it and it's now working flawlessly. Must have been something messed up with the system files on my epic, that even a wipe and reflash from CWM would not fix.

Did you root and reflash your ROM and try it?
Yea, I rerooted and flashed my rom. Everything is working fine so far, along with my SD card and phone showing up on my computer. Before it was just showing up as Samsung CDMA Tech. now it is showing actually showing the samsung model number. So something happened with the phone before. Not exactly sure.

Glad you got it working. You were lucky Odin still recognized it.

My Pc Windows doesn't recognize the Defy?

Yesterday I've flashed the ms2ginger rom but after some hours I've restored the stock froyo with rsd lite and sbf. All went fine. I've also restored my old nandroid backup to install all my apps.
This morning I've seen that Windows doesn't detect anymore the Defy. I plug in the phone by USB, the phone start charging battery, but in Windows nothing happened. Also in bootloader mode.
I've done a full wipe but I'm here with the same result.
I've tried another usb cable and another pc, but nothing.
Someone can help me?
Please, someone know how to help me?
Thanks
Try reinstalling motorola drivers and try all USB Connection options. Do you have access to a linux box to try to mount the SD Card on it?
I've tried to reinstall drivers and use a new computer but nothing happened.
The phone start charging but doesn't appear the selection of the connections that I'd like to use. And the pc doesn't detect anything, and sometimes, if detects, it says that is impossible to install drivers.
Once my SD Card became corrupt. Try formating it using the phone. Have you tried using another SD Card to see what happens?
Tried but the phone not works too....it's very strange...
Sorry, I have no more ideas. Let's wait someone else to come and give more thoughs.
Thanks
Hope someone have the solutions, if not, in the next days I'll give the Defy to the customer service

Bricked? Wave I (8500)

Seems like my sister got her Wave bricked. Actually, she didnt do anything with it. Its just that the handset is stuck in a boot-loop. So my plan was to reflash FW. I can enter download mode. But when i connect it to a computer, it only gives the error message that the usb device has malfunctioned. I already tried my desktop and my laptop. Anything else I might want to try? Kinda lost here

Try to install Kies for the drivers.
Download any firmware you want and flash it.
Best Regards
Well, i have Kies already installed together with newest USB drivers. Still, it says that the USB device is not recognized because it has malfunctioned or so ...

Unable to connect to computer

Hey all,
My galaxy note 2 will not connect to my computer (Mac, mountain lion) at all.
Everytime I try I get the message from Android File Transfer saying "Could not connect device" "Try reconnecting or restarting device".
I have done this so many times but still won't work. The kies software does not work either.
Any advice or help would be appreciated. I should say though that when I first got the phone i was able to connect it to my computer. However, after I unlocked the sim that's when it stopped being able to connect. Not sure if this is related or not.
thanks!

[Q] Phone Is not able to connect to my computer

I was on stock and I was not able to connect this phone to my computer and access its files (it would not show up on my computer), so I decided to flash a custom ROM (MIUI), to see if that would fix the issue, and it still doesn't work... I have a nandroid of the stock ROM if it is necessary to go back, but I have all the drivers installed properly with debugging mode on, and i get a weird error in windows saying that "Hardware Id [is] Missing: Windows cannot identify the device plugged into the SAMSUNG Mobile USB Composite Device. For assistance, contact the hardware manufacturer."
I'm really confused because I never had an issue like this with my GS2...
I would really appreciate help with this. Thanks in advance.
