Hi I just received a 18mb update i.e. V20L. My device is rooted. When I tried to install the update it said that it has detected root and hence software update not possible.
Can someone help?

You'll first need to revert to stock using either the KDZ or TOT method before taking the OTA...

Thanks for the reply. That means I'll have to install all apps all again.
Any method I can make the Ota file flashable through recovery?
Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
not if u backup all apps i use all in one tool box so when u go back stock just download all in one then restore apps make sure ure back saves on external sd or will be lost on restore from tot.
A TWRP flashable *.zip can be created from the KDZ file, but I'm not sure how it's done. Unfortunately the only TWRP flashable ZIPs I'm aware of are for the D851, those having been created from the 20b, 20e, and 20g KDZs.

Well I recommend a clean TOT or KDZ flash. Hope this will fix your problem. Please do follow this post to flash TOT or KDZ http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2785089 then Update If update available (Sometimes we get update in KDZ or TOT) then reroot again

Hey,
I'm just wondering if someone can describe the process or send me a link on how to flash the Value Pack update for my e980. I know there is a post with the updated firmware, but you have to use LG flash tool, which I can't get to work. If it's possible, I'd like to CWM the update. I can't OTA the update because it keeps telling me that my device is not registered (I use T-Mobile). Thanks!

There is NO flashable zip you will HAVE to use LG Flashtools. Try another computer.

Is there a good guide for this? The thread that has the flashable files is kind of confusing. I'm not fully sure how to do it, and am kind of afraid to mess up my phone. Thanks!
The value update .tot file for use with lgflashtools was posted by thecubed, download that. And also go to the fix soft brick thread and download the files there. Use that guide to flash the value pack .tot instead of the regular stock .tot file.
It will say it failed but as long as your phone is booted up and running(which it will be), you should be good to go.

Hi,
My phone specs:
LG G3-D855
Android-version 5.0
V20E
Today I rooted my phone with this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
Everything went well and got my phone rooted. After that I tried to install TRWP, except I missed a line in that guide and got the error above.
"I saw a lot of questions of G3 users about how to install Twrp after the root, so I will explain briefly:
For now, if you are on stock lollipop you can't just flash Twrp via flashify etc like the old days in KitKat,"
So I did use Flashify to flash TWRP and got the error and I'm unable to go into recovery mode.
Looked up on google on what I can do to fix this problem and found this:
http://lgg3root.com/lg-g3-root/how-to-unrootunbrick-lg-g3/
In this guide they say I can download the LG G3 Stock Factory Firmware. Looked for my version and they listed:
Android 4.4.2 V10E LG G3 Stock Firmware D855 European 16GB
Except when I look into my phone and look at the version it says V20h-E, would that be a problem when I use the V10E?
Or is there another way to fix this problem?
@Midway6
only one method I think : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
When you flash on Lollipop a twrp without dowgrade aboot and laf and no bump boot , your G3 is blocked.
First you root your G3 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
Then you use Autorec , the apk from @bender_007 : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=b007.autorecd855

Does that mean I can use the V10E with my V20H to go back to stock?
Nevermind I found the V20H in the Lollipop V5.0 folder. I'll use this one
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G3/Stock/Lollipop+5.0/D855/
Gonna try the link you gave me. I'll report back when I tried it.

I did that method so far so good. Waiting for Android to finish those upgrades and I'll root again.
So first I'll use that one click root method and after that I use Autorec application to install the recovery?

Yes exactly.
Before autorec, this method worked well but since bender_007 develop autorec for the G3 I recommend it

I'm getting a error while flashing.
Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: No md5 file found
Error flashing zip '/external_sd/.........zip'
Updating partition details...
done...
Failed.
I've never heard of a MD5 while flashing a rom.
How can I fix this problem? Is it necessary for flashing?
I never check md5 on twrp because I have always this error message. So flash the Rom without md5.
Before backup the Rom stock with twrp

False information shared by @Ernesto0023.
Following this guide will get you a secure boot error when attempting to boot into recovery. Even so following this guide is impossible because root is required and OP has no root on his kdz flashed MM.
My recommended solution would be reverting back to kitkat via kdz. If unfamiliar with the method follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
After reverting use the guide from post above: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-2-8-2-0-t2966129
to flash TWRP.
Then fell free to flash whatever you want in TWRP. If stock lollipop ROM is you what you desire, download zip from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/stock-t2961073
if stock MM is what you wish for download zips from here:

You can't install it because you don't have root and it is not for MM availible yet

Yeah
Even so if his MM would somehow be rooted it was still kdz flashed so it contains
MM bootloader. That equals BUMP not working.
Hope you had fun.

Hello all,
I have a LG G3 D855P Brazilian model.
I've updated my G3 to Marshmallow via the LG Flashtool 2014 using this method:
http://www.android.gs/manually-update-lg-g3-to-android-6-0-using-marshmallow-kdz-and-flash-tool/
I have also installed TWRP to root it in MM.
My phone is working fine, but I want to revert back to official KK or LL. The problem is that I am now unable to restore it back to factory. I have tried the following options:
1. Using the LG FlashTool v1.8.6.527 with LGD855AT-00-V10e-EUR-XX-JUL-08-2014-16G+0.tot and LGD855_20140526_LGFLASHv160.dll.
Doesn't work. The FlashTool complains the device model is wrong (should be D855 when it's actually D855P)
2. Using the LGUP tool. Doesn't work also. It gets stuck at the "Start TOT Download" part (9%) and it never finishes.
What are my options? As far as I know, the TOT file I've been trying to use is the correct one.
Thanks in advance!

What MM are you using now? So far as I know you can donwgrade from MM to LP, not KK, using the LGUP tool.
If I were you, I'd unroot or reflash the MM. Then downgrade to LP. Try to use KDZ files,
I want to clean wipe my lg g3 and install stock firmware. The two methods I discovered was kdz method and tot method. Are these two methods the best or are there other ways I don't know about? What's the difference between these two methods and which should I use to wipe everything off my phone to make it as if it was new from the factory?
You should use kdz as there are no tot files for the latest firmwares.

After some reading(I may be wrong, if someone knows better, correct me.)
tot files requires a dll file to be flashed.
tot files are released for upgrades that can't be downgraded. This makes sense for me as all tot files are from KK, there are no LP and MM tot files.
I never used lg flash tool 2014, only LGUP with kdz files and it works without issues.

Sorry this is confusing. KK is a downgrade from LP and MM. What do you mean by "tot files are released for upgrades that can't be downgraded." LG flash tool is easier.

I mean there are tot files for the first KK update, you can't downgrade lower than that, because that is the first one. This is my thoughts, I may be completely wrong here [emoji3]
