Okay so I have an Evo 4G with a stock rom. About a week ago I rooted my phone using the unrevoked3 method. It was working great. I then decided to update the phone to 3.29 to get the fps uncapped. This unrooted the phone which I expected. I rooted the phone again using the unrevoked3 method successfully. After that I decided to unroot the phone just to know that I had the option incase I had to go back to sprint to get it replaced by flashing the 3.29 update again. After I did that successfully I rooted it again using the same unrevoked method and it's been working great the last few days. But today while I was using my phone, it somehow got unrooted and unrevoked isn't working anymore. I was using Wifi tether to connect a friends iPad to the internet for about an hour. It suddenly stopped working and the phone started getting really glitchy. So I used quickboot to reboot the phone. When it started up again all my root applications said they couldn't obtain root access. I checked the boot loader and it's still S-off. Does anyone know what could've caused this?

Not sure what caused it but try re flashing SU

Try uninstalling the superuser app. Then go to the market, download and reinstall it. See if the works.
Thanks! it worked. All my root apps are getting SU permissions again after I reflashed the SU app.
lost root
i also appeared to have lost root access on my evo 4g.. i was on stock rooted rom, and i flashed it to decks ics alpha 5 rom and when i installed titanium backup it says root check fail.. and i also installed root checker from the market and it says this device does not have proper root.. before flashing the rom, i wiped all data, cache and dalvik cache... i tried this method and reflashed su but it didnt work. can anyone help me regain root acces. i have hboot 2.10 and s-off

did you try flashing the su-bin ?
Hi,
I'm actually on ARHD 5.0.0 but i still get no root access with SuperSU. Binary gets updated properly but apps like Adaway, Titanium Backup, etc, tell me that i don't have root access.
How is that possible? Bootloader unlocked via HTCDev, latest CWM Recovery, flashing ROM and matching boot.img without any problems but obviously no root.
Flashed the latest SuperSu as flashable CWM zip without any success using root-requirering-apps
Hope someone can help me, never has had any problems like this with my previous HTC devices
I recently flashed the official 4.3 update that came out a few days ago. I have clockwork mod recovery and I flashed the supersu zip, which failed to work. I then flashed cf auto root via odin and now it says super su has stopped working when I try to gain root access. I really need root access because I back up my app data via helium backup (GREAT app btw). Please help! Thanks :crying:
rooted using CFauto root at first then i installed twrp and everything was fine, then i installed compulsion kernel boots up fine go into superuser app and it says that no su found. So i went back to stock and rooted using root de la vega and the same thing happens im confused.
Hello, I tried rooting lollipop. Unlocked the bootloader, flashed kernel, rooted, recovered TA, flashed original kernel. The problem is that the root wasn't working fully but only partially. (example: Adaway launched correctly with root permissions, but failed when applying.) Does someone know, how to get working root with (re)locked bootloader.
