INSTALLATION:
Rename file to "bootanimation.zip" then use root explorer (or other root capable file manager) to copy the file under /data/local/, set permissions and reboot.

hi. i can't install the boot animation on my galaxy nexus. i get an error in twrp. i have the latest c-rom installed. any tips? thanks.

this wouldnt work on gnex,
updater script has "run_program("/sbin/mount", "-t", "auto", "/dev/block/stl12", "/system");". but it should be like "/dev/block/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.0/by-name/system". this is clearly not for gnex.
but you can unzip it and copy the files to necessery folders and set permissions to 644. that could work.

I think it's not flashable . you only need any root explorer to replace it in media folder

thanks for the tip. i can't get it to work with root explorer, set the permissions and everything. in fact i don't think that's even compatible with the nexus as the animation resolution is only 512x768 pixels

Hi, i've some bootanimations for Moto G, i have planned to make some other bootanimations for moto g in the future, i don't if i will make it or when, but is 80% positive. i tested on my XT1032 running Stock 4.4.2 (based on my experience this will only work on stock)

Install instructions:
Bootanimation: Just rename to "bootanimation.zip" and replace the file with the same name on System/media, change permissions to RW-R-R and that's it
Bootlogo Just flash from fastboot with: fastboot flash logo <bootlogoname.bin>

Boot animation depends on your rom.
This is just the logo on the boot.

Install boot animation with sound? (root)

I'm trying to install a custom boot animation, but the sound won't play. Followed the instructions in video below (move bootanimation.zip & bootaudio.mp3 to /system/media). Even tried changing bootaudio to ogg format and using apps to try and install but still no luck. Using stock 6.0.1 MM

I hear you, but some custom ones aren't that bad. I initially soft bricked my phone trying to install supersu and ever since I unbricked my device using an unsigned stock image from this thread, I have not been able to get boot animation sound.
I've tried looking in countless threads, tried installing zips that supposedly have sounds and changed file placement and editing with no luck. Perhaps it's the unsigned stock firmware.

I suppose power up sound is set to on?

My 'Sound & Notification' menu is combined and I don't have this option.
