If and when it completes I will upload to to AFH.
Update: I also gave the link to the Ramified team and I understand that an updated version of everyone's favorite ROM is in the works.

trying to flash back to stock with odin3 and i keep getting failed message after "setupConnection"
what am i doing wrong. i have the samsung usb cable connected. got the blue com box lit up, md5 check is successfull, then when i hit start it hangs on setupconnection and then fails
Does anyone know if the native wifi tether mod will still work after the update? Samsung has managed to create 2 notifications now saying there's an update to OI1, which is aggravating now.

it just hangs on pit for mapping. i am guessing from what i have read the pit file on my phone is missing or corrupted. the stock firmware file from sammobile does not have it included. if i can get ahold of a stock pit file i can include it with the firmware and flash it with odin

This should be your last resort, but you can try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916936
You might want to talk to the developer (lyriquidperfection) first.
Also, see this: http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-extract-pit-file-from-samsung-galaxy-devices/
Good luck, hope this works out for you.

Like "freakboy13" said, "If you can get into DL mode, you're golden." Don't worry it just takes patience and you have to keep trying.
1. First, you want to find a stock ROM only (normally 836MB zipped and around 1.42 unzipped)
2. Make sure you're using a domestic ROM, not International and make sure you're using your model number. Do you have AT&T? if so search for - SAMSUNG SGH-I317. If not search for the one you need.
3.Flash it using Odin. I used Odin 1.87 I believe, I didn't have to use 3.07.
4. Let us know how it goes. I had to do it twice and it worked so be patient.

If you can get into dl mode "you are golden"
This is a tutorial on how to use the fastest and simplest way back to stock aka Emegrency Firmware Recovery.
This is accessed via kies.
You should do a bit more reading before attempting to use odin. Using odin is not for newbs. Dont just dl apps snd flash stuff with out understanding whats going on. Mobile odin goomanager is great, just know whats actaully going on.
What you a should do is go back to stock via efr. Heres my guide with pics.

Now pound that thanks button for those guys that fixed you up....g
Okay, to make a long story short, I tried rooting my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 through Odin 3.07 with the prerooted.tar.md5 file. I tried it that way first, and it failed. So, I tried taking the .md5 extension off, and tried to root it again. And, it stil failed. Now, my device is bricked, from what it appears it is just a soft brick because I can still get to the download mode. Anyway, I was wondering if there is somewhere I can find the stock tar.md5 file that was on the galaxy tab 3 prior to me trying to root it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
James
That md5 file is just a checksum for the tar file you need. See if there's another larger file in the same directory

Okay, I'm not familiar with that term, so what does that mean in simple terms? Thanks.
James
Basically the file you tried to root your device with is not the right file, he is saying there should be another file in the folder you downloaded that is the correct file to root your device with. But as far as I know the 217s doesn't have an Odin root yet and you need to look in the q&a section for kingo root option

I'm in the exact same situation. I have the Sprint Galaxy 3 SM-217S 7 inch Tab and I flashed with a file made for the WIFI only device. Guess I will just have to wait for the scene to catch up with a recovery file or a tar.md5 file for the SPRINT tab not the WIFI only tab.
Without being 100% sure' but I think you can unbrick with this firmware:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SM-T215&pcode=0#firmware
Check the specs of the tabs to be 100% sure though...

That's why it's very important to check and double check to make sure you have the right ROM before you flash it. I suggest going to Samsung's site and seeing if they have the firmware there available for download.

I found that if I tried to odin a recovery (I was using team win) it will work again. First you need to pull the battery and get it back into download mode. Then try to install recovery via odin. It didnt give me root nor a custom recovery but it brought me back to a non brick phone.
Download stock firmware, put your phone in Odin mode and flash that. Then you will need to flash the cf file again for root

Yea I actually tried Odin 3.7/3.8/3.9 I also tried unzipping .tar directly to the C:/ drive instead of desktop. In case of any administration issues.
But in the end I was able to put in the model and serial number into Kies, put phone in download mode to get firmware from Kies.
The funny thing is, just by me trying and unsuccessfully rooting the phone. I tripped the Knox warranty 0x1. Odin only 25% uploaded Cf-root before failing. Lol

You shouldn't have to use Kies. just follow these steps. 1- put your phone in download (odin) mode. 2- connect it to your computer and run odin 3..09. 3- The only thing that should be checked is 'Auto Reboot' and as far as files it should say 'TMB-N900TUVUCNB4-20140305155920. Once you extract the file (I just put it on my desktop so it was easy to find) Then it should be about 2,178,541 KB in size....so like 2.1 GB. Choose that file after extracted and click the option of AP. His start and you should be back to factory settings, then worry about re rooting your phone. . Does that make more sense?
---------- Post added at 03:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:25 PM ----------
I should of read your title more carefully, is your phone still bricked? Or are you just trying to root it now?

First you can't go back to 4.1.1 if you were on official 4.3 you will hard brick the stock mjb is located here, http://www.samsung-file.com/index.php?dir=/Model_I/I747_(SGH-I747)/I747_Firmware/I747_Android_4.3 after d/l you should be able to flash it with Odin, I use 3.07, only because I am more familiar with that version, but should restore you back to stock, when I have had to recover in the past I usually have Odin reformat during flash, then it boatloads and I go into recovery and reset, then it boots fine

Like I just said just flashing the one file will not work, the files at the location I gave you are separated so you need to download each of them and put them in their respective place Odin 3.09, I wasn't aware that this site set the downloads up for use with 3.0.9, so follow the link download the other 4 files and put them into their respective place in 3.0.9 and reflashing, then if you get bootloops turn off phone restart (volume up, home and power) gets you to recovery wipe data and cache and then restart and u should be fine

I'm not sure exactly how to do this. all the files say the same thing but the end of the file has 001-010 and the file type is 001-010. Do I flash 001 with bl then 002 with ap then 003 with cp and just keep going down the list?
Look at the first 2 letters of the file on the download site it tells you where to put them, AP goes under ap in 3.0.9, CSC goes in CSC slot, BL goes in BL slot, CP goes in cup slot and the last file is the pit file and goes in the pit section, then flash the file and it should reboot when finished, if it boot loops then disconnect, hold Power button till it shuts down remove battery reinstall battery hold volume up and home press power button boots to recovery, in recovery wipe data and cache then reboot

my N4 has downloaded and failed during installation 4 times... Glad to see an Odin approach.
So did you update to 5.1.1 by using these Odin files ?
I personally tested and flashed my note 4 with these files and it upgraded from 5.0.1 OC6 to 5.1.1 with no issues.

I just downloaded the files from the host so they could be uploaded to Mega due to extremely slow throttling speeds for two of the major files. I have not yet been able to test these files myself and two of the major ones are still uploading to Mega. These files pass Odin verification including the md5 check. They have successfully installed on my Note 4 ATT which upgraded from 5.0.1 OC6.
BACKUP FIRST! This is very important as flashing these files will likely wipe your phone every time.
I have not tried just flashing the AP file, in theory you can, but I strongly suggest flashing the AP, BL, CP, and CSC files together to prevent any possible bricking. If people test using just the AP file successfully please let me know

Thanks for your great effort Tony!
Will try to flash as soon as your upload completes!
whats the differwnt between the 1st "all" file and the second "ap" file?
should i flash both file or just the ap?
Use the files I listed in the initial post. The all file you shouldn't need. I think that one just has all 4 in one. Refer to post number 1 for the files I strongly suggest using.

Do i have to upgrade back to 5.0.1 then update then because im on 4.4.4 using odin and the files wont go thru says md5 is invalid
Edit 1: My mistake i downloaded the files orignally what i did differently i downloaded the file as a Zip and then i extracted the file and so far everything is going great ill come back to see if the update successfully installs
is it possible to get a screen shot of the files put in the proper slots in odin and posted her so ppl dont have to ask the same question of where they go for ppl that are new to odin? figure this would make a good stick thread
You are probably using the ALL file since the AP file isn't uploaded. You need to wait until the AP file is uploaded.

I am currently at work till 6PM Mountain Time, and cannot check the upload time on the last file the AP file as that is my home computer. My roommate is making sure it stays awake but its a fairly large file and I haven't had the chance to talk to Comcast about why I have 150 Mbps down and only 25-30 Mbps up. So at about 6:30-7PM Mountain Time I will be able to check the upload at home if its not finished by then.

Okay I'll keep a lookout for that hopefully it'll be done and ready to upload I want to thank you tho for putting in the effort to do this ?
I confirm these files are good and flashable with Odin .
After flashed you can check update without error(no need AT&T sim)
