I noticed when I plug my phone in it says "Cable Charging" and it takes four hours to go from 20% to 100%. I am still using the same charger that came with my phone, I have just been plugging it in and out, same socket, and it just stopped today. How can I reactivate quick charge?

Two questions:
1) By default, when the phone is fully charged it stops charging (which is fair enough) - but it then never starts again unless it is unplugged and plugged back in. I think this means it's possible for the battery to actually go flat while the phone is connected to the charger! Is there any way to get the phone to start charging again when it's dropped by a few percent without having to unplug and replug it?
2) Is there any way to speed up charging via USB? USB should be able to output something like 500mA, which means the phone ought to charge from 0% to 100% in about three hours via USB; in fact, it takes at least twice that, maybe even longer (even switched off). Can this be tweaked?
I too have the same problem with charging.
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=545254 as it was discussed there also.

on start->settings->system->power->information i can see the time of the last full charge.
without unplugging the charger the "last full charge:" time updates sporadically, meaning that my phone charges the battery form time to time.
Has anyone had their phone stop charging suddenly? I left mine plugged into a 1A charger last night, and after a couple hours the charging just stopped. When I unplugged the phone this morning, it had stopped at 40%. I plugged it into a 2.1A charger this morning and it charged to 100% without a hitch (in just under an hour 38%->100%). I noticed that the included charger is 1.8A; does the phone need a beefy charger to work properly? (cause that would suck)
G3 is very picky about chargers

The charging component on the G3 is finicky. I tried plugging it into the non LG charge last night that worked fine for my S3 and S4 and headset and it said - not compatible - charging would not continue. Normally I leave the charger that comes with a phone in the original box for resale with the phone down the road. I had to use it last night to charge my phone.

Well, for what it's worth, it was perfectly happy with an iPad charger this morning, but the iPhone one failed last night. I don't really mind it being (too) picky but having it quit in the middle is no bueno.
Two days ago I put my 5t on to charge (latest stock, rooted with late Magisk). It reached 97% then stopped. Tried disconnecting cable , rebooting, tried with my usual Samsung charger (I avoid fast charging where possible), then with OnePlus block, but no change. Finally, I switched the phone off, and it charged. Then this morning my phone was down to 15% so plugged in my the bedside (generic charger and lead). Charging started. I fell asleep at around 40%. When I woke it had stopped at 66%. Power off, charging started so I powered on with lead attached and it continued to charge, but stopped after a few minutes.
This morning the battery had gone down to 35%. Plugged it is, and it started charging. Got to 70% and stopped. Used the phone disconnected for a while, then into desk charger - no charging! Very odd.
Update: the phone now charges only for a few minutes when it is switched on (both normal and Dash speeds work). If I turn the phone off, it charges normally. OnePlus have suggested a factory reset, but I'm reluctant to do that until I'm sure I can restore everything quickly and without too much risk. A colleague has suggested allowing the battery to die completely, then charging, as It solved a similar problem on an earlier OnePlus.
Last night I set up Google Drive so I can be prepared for a factory reset. I left the WiFi on overnight and this morning Drive showed it had done a backup. I plugged the charger in, and it started charging... and continued to charge. AT 70% (was 30%) I switced off Wifi. Maybe just coincidence, but charging stopped at that exact moment. Can't get it charging again, Wifi or not!
Further update: I got it charging again after leaving it overnight. Once again, it stopped at 70%. So this time I let it run completely flat and used the Dash charger and it got to 100%. Great. Then this evening, when it had dropped to 35% I charged again. Kept charging, then stopped at 70%!!!
I charged phone previously and after 70 mins, it was fully charged. Today, left it in to charge and returned after 80 minutes expecting it to be 100% as usual.
But now it was as in the image. What is going on?
And yes, obviously, this IS the factory charger.
Very odd. 13 minutes later, charger is very hot... And not it jumped from 44% to 70%.
But the estimate is still 37 minutes, which seem to be very long time.
I thought the super fast charger is the 45w charger that you need to buy separately?
No, I meant then fast charger, the 25W provided with the phone one.

The charger is receiving an improper voltage from the outlet, either that or it's not plugged in all the way.
I plugged in my Note last night and it started heating unusually, same for the wall charger. Come to find out the wall charger came loose and was halfway into the wall so it was giving an improper charge and making both the phone and the charger heat up. It was reading "fast charging" but not putting the regular ETA of around 50 minutes that it usually takes.
I put the charger in a much better placed outlet and made sure it was in all the way and the problem went away.
This might be the case. I heard the charger or the socket making funny noises so I reconnected it and it went to normal.
I was wondering these days about it and I think the estimated time was wrong... Today I tested it having 80% battery with the original 25W adapter and the out-of-box cable, it took about 15min to reach 100%, but until the 90% mark, the AOD indicates 33min to 100% and it jumped after to 22min and 8min when 97%...
So, IMHO, the problem in with the charge time estimate...

Check that outlet! Sounds like a neutral/ground fault!
Ground wire is acting the neutral return.
All the fast chargers slow down when they reach about 90% charging to keep safe the battery. In any brand of phone.
HI can anyone tell me if there is any way to resolve this. I think is has started since doing the upgrade to Android 10 earlier this week.
I normally put my phone onto the wireless charger before going to bed and I have noticed recently that when I grab it in the morning the battery percentage is sitting around the 90% mark. I initially thought the charger was not able to charge to 100% but on further examination I see that it indeed charged to 100% after I placed it on the charger and then the charging stopped and the phone ran on battery until I removed it in the morning.
I confirmed this this morning by replacing it on the charger and watching it charge (like watching paint dry ). The charger light was blue while charging, when the phone hit 100% the charger light turned to green but after about 30s it completely switched off and so too did the indication on the lock screen that a charger is connected. Removing and reseating the phone started charging again.
It definitely looks to be software related as I did not have this problem last week. I just wanted to ask if anyone here has noticed this and knows of any workaround?
For the record I am running fast wireless charging with the samsung wireless charger that came with my wifes S8, that charger works perfectly with my older Note8. I have also tried switching to normal wireless charging speed with no success.

Unplug the charger from its power source and plug it in again, causing it to 'reboot'. Let us know the results. Note, there is an option to set the wireless charging to NOT be fast during certain hours of the day. I set mine so it charges slowly while I am sleeping - to put less stress on the battery. Your charger may be a little old as well if you got it with a note 8 or S8 - ?

IMO this is a good feature to stop the wireless charger cooking your battery.
Maybe turn down your AOD brightness or something, to use 10% within a couple of hours of being idle is pretty high. Maybe turning off fast wireless charging would extend the charge time so it finishes nearer to when you wake up could help too.
Thanks for the feedback however it does sound like workarounds for an issue that should not be present (apart from rebooting the charger which I will try when I get home).
For me wireless charging should act just like wired charging in that when it reaches 100% the phone should essentially run off the charger now and not use battery at all. Every other phone with wireless charging that I have had worked that way, this is just plain stupid.
Willhemmens its not a couple hours, looking at the battery graph if I go to bed at 10pm and put the phone on the charger it pretty much hits 100% around 11:30 and then is at 90% at 7am, so it is 10% over 7 hours which is ok in my books, but reality is that during this time the phone has another source of power that it can and should use. It did before I applied the Android 10 update.
I have had this issue every now and again, and I found that rebooting it takes care of the issue.
An update. This morning I tried my wife's wireless charger and when the phone reaches 100% it continues to show the charge icon. Put my wife's note 8 into the wireless charger and it exhibited my problem.
So it looks like this is a problem with the wireless charger and not the phone.
Thanks for the answers guys I am of to try buy a new wireless charger
edit - New charger solved the problem.
