It is funny you say this, but I have experienced this within the past 2 days with Play Music. It will buffer more than before on wifi as well as cell data. When I play the same songs on the same network on another phone, there isn't an issue. I was thinking it was just me.

Bluetooth audio streaming isue

I hope someone can help.. I have been able to use my EVO 4g WITH MIKROM 2.6.1 (Android 2.3.3) just fine to stream music from PANDORA or any other app to my car's bluetooth. Today, it isnt working and I cant figure out why. it will start to play music and then drop the streaming connection. I have good signal so I dont think that is the case. I can however, make and receive calls ofer bluetooth and also play my visual voicemail over bluetooth, However, if I turn off bluetooth, I can play the same app over the phones speaker just fine and it doesnt stop playing. one one app, I can even see that when connected to bluetooth and then trying to play music, it will stop the program (you have to press play on the app again).
any ideas??
Thanks ...
try doing a full reset of the phone by pulling the battery for a few minutes, then try restarting it.
if you installed any new apps try getting rid of them and trying again,
if all elses fails wipe cache's and reflash!
Goodluck! and remember there is always the 3.5 mm jack you can use!
here is some info I found. Its not specifically related to the EVO but it appears 2.3.3 has issues with A2DP streaming music....
Edit: Take a look at this http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=15189 I know this isnt specific to the EVO but it might be a 2.3.3 issue.
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dro...h-audio-3.html This is another post about it although, again, not specifically about our phone.
anyone have a fix? I'm on a custom ROM (MIKROM 2.61) with android 2.3.3 so I bet I have the issue.
For some reason its working right again.

YouTube freezing during playback

Anyone else have the YouTube app just freeze up during playback?
I think it might be a problem with the way the app is caching the video. It will load up to a certain point and then stop. When playback reaches that point, it won't load anymore. If i try and back out, the app freezes and eventually force closes.
One thing I've noticed though is that this only seems to happen with all the 4.0.3 roms I've tried. When using Android rev. HD there are no problems.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

That's strange... Well I don't have that problem but I know what will make you feel better...

That did put a smile on my face.
But seriously though, I notice your with Verizon which is cdma, I'm on a gsm phone. I wonder if it could just be a gsm vs. cdma rom issue.
Poor connection. Remember HD videos pulls more data. I get the loading symbol but only when connected to a slow wifi.

I get really slow loading on any connection. Either 3G, which is typically about 1.8 Mbps, or over my wifi, which is through 12 Mbps cable. Doesn't seem to matter how fast the connection is, at least for me. Not sure if it's my ROM or what.
happens to me on stock 4.0.2. Mostly with embedded videos in browsers. Also when attempting to seek via browser or app.
On wifi, 35mbps fios with full strength reading and about 20mbps thru put.
Drives me nuts, coming from iPhones and never had any problem watching vids. Now 90% crash or fail.

I get the same problem too, even after upgrading to one of the 4.0.4 roms. A temporary solution that I've found is that using the 2.4.4 version of YouTube works without any problems. Only downside is that this version isn't as polished as the updated one.
Here's a link I uploaded to the old youtube app if anyone wants it.

[Q] Choppy Video Playback If Not Using WIFI?

Hey Guys and Gals. Okay, I just noticed this today when trying to watch The Avengers after using the T-Mo free download sneaky sly-boots buildprop trick. If I turn my WIFI off while trying to play it the video is crazy choppy. No audio lag. Just video. I was trying to watch during my lunch break and I was out of range of the office WIFI so I toggled it off to save a little juice. When I got home I tried to play it again and it worked flawlessly... but I was connected to my home WIFI. I found that curious so during the movie I toggled it off again and low and behold, choppy video. One would think with all of the horsepower this phone has it would be able to handle HD movie playback without packet streaming from WIFI. I haven't seen any mention of it on here anywhere. Is this an annoyance that will be fixed with Jelly Bean or is this just how it is with this phone? Is TWiz murdering playback? Honestly I haven't tried it with any JB Rom other than Drew's 3.5, but playback simply doesn't work on that rom's current version. I tried it on just bone stock rooted and on Wanam.
So has anyone else experienced this or have tips?
Also I downloaded MX and Mobo to see if their hw acceleration was better but got the same results.
WonderDroid Gurus activate! Form of... Tips and/or knowledge? Idk.
Hardware specs don't enter into streaming much. Its choppy likely because the network is congested.

Well alright then. I guess my next question is if it is the network shouldn't it not happen if I shut off data and WiFi? If it is a network only issue then shutting off data should help right?

Youtube buffering often?

I was having alot of buffering issues with Youtube app and I know it wasn't my data speed so I installed an older version and it seems to help.
I am having the same issue too, my youtube seem to buffer alot on HD, but if you turn HD off, it buffer fine. My speedtest are over around 20mbps down and 3 up. The weird thing is my family other nexus does not have this buffering issue on HD. I test both the nexus at the same time and each separately, my is loading slow and buffering. I will test the apk you provide.
Turn off wifi. It use to happen on my iPhone to. Wifi sometimes is sketchy.
I get youtube buffering on my desktop ROFL, I just chalk it up to youtube being overloaded and paid programming (vevo/broadcast/etc.) all getting priority.
Actually, try something on vevo, it seems to be the only "channel" I never seem to get buffering on.
Works perfectly fine for me. I have a 50mbps connection and it never has to buffer. Videos load right away.

I had the same problem after I got my phone and ran the update. Not only was YouTube acting up but anything that streamed, including music. To fix it I did a factory reset and now everything works perfectly. Try doing that and see if it helps.

Same issue here for me on WiFi with 45 Mbps down Internet speeds. Came from the Atrix on gingerbread and had similar issues with the updated YouTube app. I have some buffering issues via the PC browser but nothing that sucks this much. Right now I'm on CM 10.1. I see a lot of reviews on the play store with similar complaints on other phones. Definitely gotta be an app issue.

Anyone else find streaming video's to be almost impossible on the Pixel XL?

I just got the XL after having the iPhone for about 6 months, I was with the Galaxy phones before that and this seems to be the first phone I've ever had this issue with. When streaming on Facebook, Youtube or pretty much any online streaming video it just seems to constantly need to buffer. I don't remember ever having this issue with any other phone but it's very annoying. Anyone else experience this, have any fixes?
It happens on Wifi and LTE.
I am having no problem at all with Google play movies, vudu, Netflix and Amazon. I use WiFi with a 5.4 ghz connection to a linksys Wrt1900ac hooked to a 200 megabit connection. No root or rom, I am not even unlocked, Pixel XL 128gb.

I haven't had any issues. YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat no issues.

Your annoyance describes the reason why i installed a network monitor to see traffic flow.
The only time i experience an issue with all sites is on crappy work wifi.
ProjectFI is runs fine.
Very well at home on mesh.
Maybe test to see if other bulk data transfer issues have the same problem
No issues streaming here either. Everything works fine when the connection is good.
As mentioned above, install a traffic monitor. When your buffering the video, take note of down speed. realistically, anything above 250kbps should be able to stream video.
Since you noted that it happens on your cellular network as well as wifi, i would suggest *not a factory reset* But a full factory image flash if possible.
If you have root, try installing the lspeed app (in play store) and using the network and buffer tweaks and see if they help. if using a custom kernel, change the congestion algorithm to stock (i use westwood)
