I hope someone can help.. I have been able to use my EVO 4g WITH MIKROM 2.6.1 (Android 2.3.3) just fine to stream music from PANDORA or any other app to my car's bluetooth. Today, it isnt working and I cant figure out why. it will start to play music and then drop the streaming connection. I have good signal so I dont think that is the case. I can however, make and receive calls ofer bluetooth and also play my visual voicemail over bluetooth, However, if I turn off bluetooth, I can play the same app over the phones speaker just fine and it doesnt stop playing. one one app, I can even see that when connected to bluetooth and then trying to play music, it will stop the program (you have to press play on the app again).
any ideas??
Thanks ...
try doing a full reset of the phone by pulling the battery for a few minutes, then try restarting it.
if you installed any new apps try getting rid of them and trying again,
if all elses fails wipe cache's and reflash!
Goodluck! and remember there is always the 3.5 mm jack you can use!
here is some info I found. Its not specifically related to the EVO but it appears 2.3.3 has issues with A2DP streaming music....
Edit: Take a look at this http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=15189 I know this isnt specific to the EVO but it might be a 2.3.3 issue.
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dro...h-audio-3.html This is another post about it although, again, not specifically about our phone.
anyone have a fix? I'm on a custom ROM (MIKROM 2.61) with android 2.3.3 so I bet I have the issue.
For some reason its working right again.

Anyone else having issues streaming music via Google Music? I've been using Google Music flawlessly with my Evo 4G for many months now. Just switched to a Samsung Galaxy SII Epic 4G Touch and I can't stream from Google Music anymore.
I can sync to my account and view all my uploaded songs, but when I hit play on anything the green circle appears for a few seconds as if it were buffering, but then just disappears. The song starts downloading however as indicated by the advancing progress bar on the bottom. Once the song is fully downloaded the song will play. But no immediate streaming....
Also, sometimes I get "failed to play requested stream" error.
Same experience via WiFi and 3G connections.
Tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app, clearing data, etc. Also tried current market version of the app, as well as 4.0.1.
Running rooted Starburst ROM v1.8.
I think it has something to do with Starburst, I've been having the same issues since I installed the ROM. Try messaging Phantom about a fix, he puts a lot of work into Starburst and would probably be interested in finding a solution.
I also have the same problem, everything was wokring fine, after i updated to CM7.1 also I update to Music 4.0 on my Nexus S streaming is not working anymore.
I tried reverting back to Music 3.0 but still had the same problem.
Hi all, I recently updated to 4.0,4 the IMM76I build via OTA. Noticed a few changes mostly for the positive but a big kicker for me is the app I used to stream radio,
A Online Radio, streams fine when the phone is awake, but as soon as I put it to sleep the stream will start to stutter. It never used to do this on 4.0.2...any suggestions?
Which app? I've been using TuneIn Radio and it works great.
That was the app, its called "A Online Radio"

Oh, Hm sorry lol. Terrible branding.
I'll try it and let you know because like I said TuneIn is great. Is it happening on both WiFi and 3G?
Edit: Downloaded the app and jammed out to some 80's music for a while. On WiFi (I've got a 802.11G router 5ft away and about 12mbps connection) the 96kbps streams were solid, but the 128kbps streams (the few I tried anyways) cut out for 2-3 seconds every 15 seconds or so w/ screen off. Over HSPA+ both 96kbps and 128kbps stations streamed just fine.
Bone stock 4.0.4 IMM76I btw.

Isnt this due to a battery saving feature where the wifi power is reduced when the screen is turned off?
I faced the same issue while downloading huge ROM files. Had to keep the screen awake for the download to finish at higher speed.
Thanks for trying it out, yeah the name is a bit weird but it had a station that just ...sung to me xD.
So far I've tried it only on 3G as I usually listen to it while commuting. Let me try WiFi. Yep happens on WiFi too.
The station I'm using says its using AAC when most others appear to be MP3, also on wifi it says 40kbps.
Lemme try a few other stations...
This 128kps MP3 station seems to stream just fine over HSPA+ full bars.
Testing another
Found a station with 32kps MP3 streams fine with HSPA+....
This leads me to think its the AAC part in station I like to listen to. But it wasn't doing that prior to 4.0.4 so where does the incompatibility lay?
*bump* Any suggestions?
Check this.

That's great and all but I'm not using Wi-Fi while stream. Using HSPA+. I stream the radio when commuting.

Yea, I noticed that with my AAC streams too. I use the XiiaLive app, which has an option to use an internal audio engine (vs. Android's) and that handles AAC streams fine with screen on or off.

Sorry, i didn't read the whole thread. When i found that issue with wifi i found quite some threads about that problem and no solution. After i found a solution, i linked several thread to it, in the hope to help some people with their issues. Sorry i didn't notice that your issue doesn't seem to be related.

You don't have to apologize sir, I thank you for even attempting to help me!
I tried out XiaaLive, that internal engine does seem to help with AAC streaming. Good find, but it doesn't seem to have the station I wanted on A Online Radio. *sigh* Such is life! Thanks all!
Edit: Still curious as to what exactly is causing this in 4.0.4. Could it be similiar to meletons wifi find?

Its melethron btw
Well i'm pretty sure that this is somehow related. Since it happens when the screen is off, its pretty sure some issue with powersaving.
I took a look at telephony documentation, which is similar to the wifimanager. There arent any Options like "wifi lock". Powermanagement for 3g is pretty sure handelned on Kernel level.
Also im not quite sure if this even is a Problem of 3g (the radio) itself. This could also be some CPU throttling.
Anyhow the only way to interfere with powermanagement (without changing the OS itself) is to disable Powermanagement with a "wake lock". While "wifi lock" only disables wifi shutoff or low perf wifi, "wake lock" stops the Powermanagement when screen is off.
I've looked into the Powermanagement documentation and what should help you is a PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK . This causes the screen to go off as normaly, but prevents shutdown of cpu etc. So the phone will run as if screen is on, while it is off.
You could try this with Terminal Emulator (just to test if this helps - I know it uses PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK cause i checked the source code, which also helped me to figure out that wifi stuff). Just start the app, press menu and select "take WakeLock". DON'T CLOSE the app, start you internet radio and check if it helps after screen goes off.
When trying to play a call via bluetooth, regardless of the bluetooth device, it doesn't work. The bluetooth device shows the call in coming in and who is it, but when you answer it, you can't hear anyone and they can't hear you. However, I'm able to stream music and such through bluetooth just fine. It's just voice calls that don't provide audio. Anyone else have this issue? I haven't been able to find anything on this in the forum. I've tried wipping the efs partition for the radio to see if that helped and it didn't. I'm running Cyanogenmod 7.2.0 RC1 with baseband version 12.62.60.27U_26.13.19_m. This used to work before so I don't have know changed so it doesn't. I also tried doing a fresh install of Cyanogen 7.1 and no change.
Anyone have this issue. Happens to me on 1.2 and 2.0 firmware, stock or rooted. After a complete wipe and reinstall it works. I start installing my apps and along the way it stops. I have used the same combination of apps on several devices without issue. I guess I will have to turn off google auto restore and manually install every app and update and check it after each change.

Well I started removing anything that dealt with voice. It seems to be the Magic app, Magic Jacks void app. When running in the background it also seems to prevent Skype from connecting to calls too. Too bad, I'm using my OPPO on a data only plan and Skype has been really crappy lately but Magic Jack has been working great. All my calls come through Google voice and MJ rings 2 seconds before the home phone, Skype or regular AT&T cell service.
I guess I will post a complaint with Magic Jack. I use MJ more than voice search, I'll just live with it.
when I had kitkat on my Note 3 I had my phone paired via Bluetooth to my car radio. When playing music it would show the song name, artist, album etc and I could play, pause etc the song. I got the lollipop update, and it deleted all of my Bluetooth connections. So I paired my phone back up to my radio and now it doesn't show anything, no song, artist, album etc and I can't control the music anymore. I have done all of the troubleshooting steps I have been told to do and nothing has worked. Are other people experiencing the same issue? Is there a fix? Please help! Thanks in advanc!!

Have you tried clearing the data for bluetooth apps and reconnecting to the car? Is under settings, applications.
I have cleared the data and cache from the Bluetooth app. Impaired the radio from the phone and vice versa. Still hasn't fixed it. It will play music through the radio. Just no info or metadata as people call it.
That means your Bluetooth radio is not compatible with lollipop... Simple features that are universal like calls and pairing will work but that's it. ..It's got nothing to do with your phone and you can't do anything to fix that. ..
Thank you for the help! Would have never guessing that! Guess I need to get a new radio now.
How did you update to lollipop?
Kies?
OTA?
Odin?
Have you tried a reflash?

Yeah I had a Pioneer from 3 years ago 7 inch screen top of the line and the same thing happened, so last week I went and bought the new Pioneer same type just a newer version and everything works again so it's definitely the radio... Unless they have updates for the radio, the updates for your phone will supersede the radio because they didn't have lollipop in mind when they made the radio and there are things that have changed in the software... I hope that helps
These functions are bluetooth standard functions, not something that is lollipop or kitkat specific. If that were the case, all of your accessories (BT headsets, etc.) would lose the ability to control music as well.
OP: What is your baseband version, and your actual ROM version? It's possible that when you got your update, your baseband didn't update, and thus the BT interaction via the SDK in the os isn't passing the data to the BT radio correctly.

Not true I've been in car stereo for 25 years and I'm MECP certified... There's Bluetooth 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and now 4.0... Lollipop is 4.0 and it is different and they will have different effects on other versions of Bluetooth... You can say I'm wrong, but I'm not and you will never get it to work no matter what your baseband phone or anything like that is... Lots of manufacturers have updates to make their Bluetooth compatible if you don't update your Bluetooth device it will become obsolete and only the basic features will still work
Ohhhhkay. Lol.
I have both a Note 4 that has upgraded to Lollipop and a new S6 (obviously with Lollipop), and both pair and connect find to 2 different cars, but I have lost music controls with apps such as Slacker and Pandora. Interestingly enough, music controls are okay with Google Play Music. I can't even control the music with Android Wear. I don't think wiping cache or factory resetting will affect any of this since it's happening with the S6, which is brand new. This has to be a Samsung Lollipop thing, because the HTC One M9 has no issues like this.
It's probably more of a Google / Samsung thing, I like controlling all my music apps especially pandora from my Kenwood DDX719 which doesn't play well with my Note 3 on lollipop.
So far using my S4 still running kitkat but have a S6 edge on my radar for June, hope there's a workaround by June.

Omg I've been in car stereo for 25 years and I'm trying to tell you guys has nothing to do with the phone, older radio will not be compatible with lollipop no matter what you do so stop wasting your time get a new radio or deal with it please this guessing is is killing me... You must check your manufacturer of your radio to see if its compatible with lollipop, doing something to your phone is not going to make it work... I really hope this helps all of you
The only thing to do is to revert back to kitkat, as far as the phone is concerned or new stereo hu.
I'm good with that.
Until I get the S6 edge, then it's curtains for the Kenwood I have, just hope Kenwood comes out with something that's lollipop friendly.

Try the pioneer nex line. I just got the 4100 and it has android auto and it's great made only for lollipop...
I'm going to wait for Kenwood to take the next step concerning Android functionality and move in that direction.
Been buying and using Kenwood for over 30 yrs, can't see myself buying pioneer.
