when I had kitkat on my Note 3 I had my phone paired via Bluetooth to my car radio. When playing music it would show the song name, artist, album etc and I could play, pause etc the song. I got the lollipop update, and it deleted all of my Bluetooth connections. So I paired my phone back up to my radio and now it doesn't show anything, no song, artist, album etc and I can't control the music anymore. I have done all of the troubleshooting steps I have been told to do and nothing has worked. Are other people experiencing the same issue? Is there a fix? Please help! Thanks in advanc!!

Have you tried clearing the data for bluetooth apps and reconnecting to the car? Is under settings, applications.
I have cleared the data and cache from the Bluetooth app. Impaired the radio from the phone and vice versa. Still hasn't fixed it. It will play music through the radio. Just no info or metadata as people call it.
That means your Bluetooth radio is not compatible with lollipop... Simple features that are universal like calls and pairing will work but that's it. ..It's got nothing to do with your phone and you can't do anything to fix that. ..
Thank you for the help! Would have never guessing that! Guess I need to get a new radio now.
How did you update to lollipop?
Kies?
OTA?
Odin?
Have you tried a reflash?

Yeah I had a Pioneer from 3 years ago 7 inch screen top of the line and the same thing happened, so last week I went and bought the new Pioneer same type just a newer version and everything works again so it's definitely the radio... Unless they have updates for the radio, the updates for your phone will supersede the radio because they didn't have lollipop in mind when they made the radio and there are things that have changed in the software... I hope that helps
These functions are bluetooth standard functions, not something that is lollipop or kitkat specific. If that were the case, all of your accessories (BT headsets, etc.) would lose the ability to control music as well.
OP: What is your baseband version, and your actual ROM version? It's possible that when you got your update, your baseband didn't update, and thus the BT interaction via the SDK in the os isn't passing the data to the BT radio correctly.

Not true I've been in car stereo for 25 years and I'm MECP certified... There's Bluetooth 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and now 4.0... Lollipop is 4.0 and it is different and they will have different effects on other versions of Bluetooth... You can say I'm wrong, but I'm not and you will never get it to work no matter what your baseband phone or anything like that is... Lots of manufacturers have updates to make their Bluetooth compatible if you don't update your Bluetooth device it will become obsolete and only the basic features will still work
Ohhhhkay. Lol.
I have both a Note 4 that has upgraded to Lollipop and a new S6 (obviously with Lollipop), and both pair and connect find to 2 different cars, but I have lost music controls with apps such as Slacker and Pandora. Interestingly enough, music controls are okay with Google Play Music. I can't even control the music with Android Wear. I don't think wiping cache or factory resetting will affect any of this since it's happening with the S6, which is brand new. This has to be a Samsung Lollipop thing, because the HTC One M9 has no issues like this.
It's probably more of a Google / Samsung thing, I like controlling all my music apps especially pandora from my Kenwood DDX719 which doesn't play well with my Note 3 on lollipop.
So far using my S4 still running kitkat but have a S6 edge on my radar for June, hope there's a workaround by June.

Omg I've been in car stereo for 25 years and I'm trying to tell you guys has nothing to do with the phone, older radio will not be compatible with lollipop no matter what you do so stop wasting your time get a new radio or deal with it please this guessing is is killing me... You must check your manufacturer of your radio to see if its compatible with lollipop, doing something to your phone is not going to make it work... I really hope this helps all of you
The only thing to do is to revert back to kitkat, as far as the phone is concerned or new stereo hu.
I'm good with that.
Until I get the S6 edge, then it's curtains for the Kenwood I have, just hope Kenwood comes out with something that's lollipop friendly.

Try the pioneer nex line. I just got the 4100 and it has android auto and it's great made only for lollipop...
I'm going to wait for Kenwood to take the next step concerning Android functionality and move in that direction.
Been buying and using Kenwood for over 30 yrs, can't see myself buying pioneer.

I hope someone can help.. I have been able to use my EVO 4g WITH MIKROM 2.6.1 (Android 2.3.3) just fine to stream music from PANDORA or any other app to my car's bluetooth. Today, it isnt working and I cant figure out why. it will start to play music and then drop the streaming connection. I have good signal so I dont think that is the case. I can however, make and receive calls ofer bluetooth and also play my visual voicemail over bluetooth, However, if I turn off bluetooth, I can play the same app over the phones speaker just fine and it doesnt stop playing. one one app, I can even see that when connected to bluetooth and then trying to play music, it will stop the program (you have to press play on the app again).
any ideas??
Thanks ...
try doing a full reset of the phone by pulling the battery for a few minutes, then try restarting it.
if you installed any new apps try getting rid of them and trying again,
if all elses fails wipe cache's and reflash!
Goodluck! and remember there is always the 3.5 mm jack you can use!
here is some info I found. Its not specifically related to the EVO but it appears 2.3.3 has issues with A2DP streaming music....
Edit: Take a look at this http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=15189 I know this isnt specific to the EVO but it might be a 2.3.3 issue.
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dro...h-audio-3.html This is another post about it although, again, not specifically about our phone.
anyone have a fix? I'm on a custom ROM (MIKROM 2.61) with android 2.3.3 so I bet I have the issue.
For some reason its working right again.

Hi all, troubleshooting time again.
My delightful Galaxy Note II is randomly pausing music playback. I've read most/all of the threads about this on various devices but have run out of troubleshooting ideas. I thought I'd ask the community before I think about returning the handset for repair.
Basics first:
*Galaxy Note II 7100 UK BTU running latest official firmware (4.1.1)
*NOT rooted, modded or otherwise interfered with
Troubleshooting tried so far:
*Playback pauses using stock player regardless of whether I'm streaming or playing local files. I've also tried playing files from local and external storage so I don't think it's an SD Card problem.
*Playback pauses regardless of whether the handset is connected to headset, bluetooth or just sat on the side so I don't think it's an accessory problem
*Playback doesn't stop at any specific point or interval so I don't think it's a problem with the files.
*I recently hard-reset the device and the problem persists. I have a minimal amount of software installed and certainly nothing I can think of that would interfere with playback. The only sound app installed other than Google music and Samsung music is Deezer - oddly enough though I don't get pausing with Deezer and I'm currently testing Samsung music player...
Anyway. That's all I can think of for now. Any help would be appreciated...
Thanks all..

Okay so I know that Google Now does not want to work with Bluetooth microphones, headphones, or anything of the sorts.
However I have heard that in the newer versions of Android (at least 4.2.2 and up) Google Now has had its code rewritten and it now works with Bluetooth.
My whole issue is that S-Voice is a slow piece of s**t and doesn't manage to do anything that I want it to do, particularly interface with Play Music. I have installed a pretty awesome stereo in my car, but I feel that S-Voice with all of its prompts and on screen pop ups is unsafe for driving, whereas Now would suit my needs much better.
Essentially what I'm asking is that if I were to put an Android 4.2.2 ROM on my device (recommendations highly appreciated, preferably with WiFi calling enabled), if it would interface with my head unit when I need to use handsfree (activated by a little telephone call button on my JVC head unit that currently enables the annoyingly slow S-Voice app).
Any ideas? I tried a workaround using 'Bluetooth Launch' and disabling S-Voice already, as advised on a few other forums... no such luck... just gave me an error code on the head unit. Kinda a strange thing, I know. Let me know if you have any ideas.
Thanks a bunch for your help and input, it's much appreciated.
PS. I'm really sorry, I hope there isn't another thread similar to this, I'm totes a noob
Not sure if bt will work like you want on a 4.2 2 rom. But you cannot have wifi calling unless its a T-Mobile Touchwiz based rom. We only have up to 4.1.2 on those.
Make a nandroid backup and try out a couple of roms. If you like the functionality enough, keep it, if not restore the nandroid.

So I asked this question last week under the VZW LG G3 Q&A and never got any feedback so hopefully I can get some sort of response here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/help/bluetooth-media-phone-lg-g3-pioneer-fh-t2920008
I recently got my LG G3 a few days ago and I've been having trouble getting media to play through my aftermarket head unit (Pioneer FH-P8000BT).
I had used it via Bluetooth with my HTC Incredible, Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S3 all with (for the most part) no issues streaming Pandora, Google Play Music, etc. The only time Bluetooth gave me trouble is on my S3 whenever i loaded an ASOP ROM, it would have a hard time connecting but it would be intermittent. Any TouchWiz roms, no issues (the Galaxy Nexus never had any problems no matter the ROM).
With the G3 I just got I had first performed a factory reset so it's 100% stock (rooted). I had also cleared the memory on my Pioneer unit.
When first connecting, it goes through without any problems and I'm able to stream media. The moment I shut my car off then turn it back on, it's unable to connect media audio (phone still works). And it had the same issue regardless of if the app is closed out or open and even restarted the phone.
I got the unit back in 2008 so I realize it's using an older version of Bluetooth and it looks like Pioneer dropped support as there are 0 firmware updates since it's been released. I saw another post (different forum) about someone having similar issues connecting their G2 to the same HU however they responded LG had released an update and they've been working since.
I'm almost tempted to upgrade the unit but would rather wait for Android Auto to come out. Hoping anyone in the forums knows a fix and can help out.
Thank you!

I've tried and retried all the steps I've taken already with no success. I'd like to be able to use streaming music in my car again so I'd appreciate if anyone could help out.
Hi all,
Since the last few firmware versions (OS 4.02 and above) I´ve been experiencing some issues exclusively with the Bluetooth connection of my car (Jaguar XE). I couldn’t fixed the problem even with the last firmware version rolled out via OTA (4.1.0).
In the last two months the connection of my Jaguar has not been stable at all. Most of the times I am able to pair my phone with the car, upload my contacts and so. However, once I start to transfer music of Spotify via Bluetooth, it keeps failing the "multimedia audio" and the connection is interrupted the whole time. I also lose the connection with the “phone audio”. I seems that my phone disables both connections intermittently. My guess is that Android Nougat is a "control freak" of permissions and this leads to issues with some car stero units.
In the previous versions of the firmware (4.01 and below) I didn´t experienced such problem. In the past I did have perfect connection to play spotify in my car with my same Oneplus Unit. I am very confident that there is nothing wrong with my car stereo unit since the Bluetooth still working fine with my wife´s phone. I haven´t upgraded my Jaguar´s firmware lately…so that shouldn´t be the source of my problem.
Despite of all this, the Bluetooth of my Oneplus unit works perfectly fine with any other Bluetooth devices . In fact I am able to enjoy full connection playing music with my External Speaker (UE BOOM 2) and my Xiaomi roidmi 2s –used in my other car that lacks of Bluetooth technology -.
I´ve tried everything. A couple of days ago I even performed a factory reset using the last version of firmware (4.1.0). Of Course I reset system settings, wiped cache and all data (music, pics…etc)…but still experiencing the same issue. I am desperate.
Any instruction will be very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
So there was another thread on these boards, cant find it for right now... but in my experience the problems were only present on OOS rom's.
Perhaps not the best solution, but have you tried a CAF or Lineage OS based rom? All my problems went away after I made the switch
Good luck

Thank you Gomezie, I´ve read all the threads but I dont seem to find the solution.
I stick to stock os. Never changed my stock rom.
The funny thing is that OP stated in its last changelog that they have fixed bluetooth problems....
Kind regards,
Hi, my one plus 3 has the same problem. Done all the required resets and clearing of cache and it still would randomly connect and disconnect. Problem only surface after the recent 4.1.0 update.
My kids phone and wife's phone all have no issues.
My op3 connects with all other Bluetooth devices without any problems.
Mine is a f-pace .
Same problem in Mazda 6
Hi, I've been experiencing similar problem in Mazda 6 after software update. Everything was working perfect in previous versions. I my case problem is with using Spotify. Phone connects to the headunit, just after engine starts with no isuess, but the music won't start to play. Only way to start playback is to disconnect the phone manually and reconnect every single time. Re-pairing the phone with car doesn't help.
I sent an email to customer service a couple days ago. i haven't got any reply yet. I will let you know.
Regards.

I finally did receive a reply from OP customer service: The only solution they offer me is trying a downgrade to OS Oxygen version 3.2.8. This is the link suggested by the technical agent to do so:
http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-3/oneplus_3_oxygenos_3.2.8/
I haven´t done it yet since I am not eager to this idea.
On the other hand, in the meantime, OP rolled out new OTA 4.1.1. I made the upgrade to the latest firmware version. It seemed to work at first. However right now I am having the same problems with bluetooth disconnecting the whole time.
Any other experiences?? Have anyone solved this issue with new OTA???
Kind regards,
Bluetooth and 4.1.1
It's worse now on 4.1.1. definitely not the car, Samsung works ok
Hi,
I've experienced the same problems starting on OpenBeta 12 and continuing through to OOS 4.1.1. I've posted in the Open Beta 12 thread on the Oneplus forums, and have been contaced by Oneplus regarding the issue. For the Open Beta I have provided log files for them, but due to work and private life getting in the way have not been able to do the same for OOS 4.1.0 or OOS 4.1.1. Also, I did not clean flash, but dirty flash - because I'm really lazy and stuff. It needs too much time, to be honest
Maybe if everyone who has the problem here contacts the guys at OP or the OP forums, respectively, providing logs etc. the problem can be solved faster.
I did some googling around and found a few articles that hinted in the direction of Android 7.1.1 being the culprit, which would mean that Google needs to fix it. In these articles, it said Nexus devices, and a fix coming up...don't know...
Best regards,
Chris
My phone audio always works fine but the media audio on both my nissan and ford sync system works randomly or not at all on both stock and Lineage based roms. My wife's iPhone 6s works perfectly every time on both cars. Fortunately for me it's not a big deal since both cars have usb inputs and I keep all my music on thumb drives...My old Galaxy S6 Edge works fine on both cars too so I am not sure why the OP3 is so spotty.
