[Q] swr50 on kkw60c 4.4w.1 want root and update. - Sony Smartwatch 3

i wanna to root and update my watch ( i just got it) and its on kkw60c 4.4w.1 .
I was planing to use the windroid tool to unlock, and root.
My question is, should i let the watch autoupdate to the "latest" then root? or vise-versa?
any help is welcome... thanks

I just went though this, and I updated first. It took me to 5.1.1 then flashed <new_boot.img> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61002165&postcount=43 to get TWRP. Then install < Wear-SuperSU> for root.
hope this helps

If I upgrade will I still be able to Root?

Hi
I'm currently on 4.03. (1.29.707.11) It is stock as I got it from the shop.
The new update 2.17.707.3 which also updates to 4.04 is showing as available to download.
I will want to root this phone later (but not yet) is it safe for me to update or will I lose the ability to root this phone?
I did search, but found some conflicting answers, any help would be cool.
Thanks in advance.
I updated to 2.17.707.3 and still able to root.
Just run the whole process of BL unlock and rooting again.
Yeah , you can still root after you update . No worries

In the worst-case scenario you have too root again. But you're phone won't crash :good:
I tried, but I couldn't do it because of Root... I received a message from the installer that was impossible to install the update, because my phone is rooted. I think you'll need to Unroot to install de update.
In that case you should download a KDZ.file of the update and flash it with flash tool 2014. It will factory reset and delete the root on you're phone. After the update you can root again.

Better yet use this method if you're not familiar with flashing KDZ. You can accept OTA updates without losing your data. Once done, you can root again with PurpleDrake/Stumproot.
Works very well thanks for the simple tutorial

Cannot root LG G3 (After Update)

Hi,
I got LG G3 (02, D855) and recently I updated as it required a software update. This removed root (it had root before, I installed root via the one click installer created by avicohh.). After this update I can no longer root, when I install SuperSU I get this dreadful error: there is no su binary installed and supersu cannot install it
I have tried one click installer + the GUI version as well, all seems to go well, but according to both scripts, but once I run SuperSU, it gives that error.
I've seen some posts which says I need to flash it or whatever, but I have no idea how to do this, prefer one click scripts!!
PS the software suite upgraded to latest version 5.0 Android.
Cheers
Asim
Sorry I can't help you but you have helped me... I too am rooted and last night the ota update downloaded and is now sitting on top of screen wanting me to install it.
I don't think I will now as would like to keep root.
Do you know how to get rid of the tick at top incase I accidentally install the update?
Regards diddle ?

Hi, in update center, you should be able to turn of automatic updates, also I think if you click the notification > click install later, it will ask you when to remind you, I think from this popup you should be able to abort installation.
Can't duplicate it since I already updated.
Worked asimr
Thanks for the help
Will wait till a working one click appears before I do any updates
Same problem as yours, after i unrooted my phone via supersu, i cant root anymore
I have tried to root the phone again in recovery mode or via adb... None of them success
Hope somebody can help :crying:

[Q] Does SuperSU Pro Survival Mode work on SM-T800?

I used the KINGOROOT technique to root my SM-T800. I had to downgrade to firmware T800XXU1ANF8_T800XAR1ANF6_XAR (ANF8) to allow KINGOROOT to work.
The SM-T800 is now offering an OTA update. The only detail provided is "Size 39.96 MB" No clue what version it is.
Is there any way to determine what version of update would be loaded?
Would root be maintained?
I have purchased SuperSU Pro, and enabled "Survival Mode", which says it "attempts" to keep superuser access across OTA updates.
Can anyone confirm whether SuperSU Pro's "attempts" are actually successful on the SM-T800?
Once rooted you should disregard small updates.
You never know what this update will do. It could do anything from something simple to locking your bootloader. It won't be the first time people have ended up locked out of their device after an update.
If you really want to flash it, let it download then flash it with FLASHFIRE.

I wasn't thinking of the small updates - I was going jump ahead and flash the latest stock Lollipop (T800XXU1BOE2_T800XAR1BOC5_XAR) Android 5.0.2?
At this point I've got the tablet usable with KitKat - thanks for all your help!
I won't have time to mess with it for a few weeks probably, so I'll defer the Lollipop update till then.
I guess I have already let it download something, although it doesn't say what. However, it is nagging me to install the OTA update all the time. So how can I
1) Capture the downloaded update file?
2) Find out what version it is so I can decide if I want it?
3) Stop the nagging to install the update?
If you're going the whole hog then just flash Lollipop with Flashfire and you'll keep root.

Rooting phone clarification

I just want to make sure I am rooting my phone correctly because the last time I tried I hard bricked my phone. My phone is on android 6.0 and Security Software version is MDF v2.
So I would have to first use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-g4/general/downgrade-mm-to-ll-lgup-t3322616 to downgrade to LL and then use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-g4/general/vs986-rooteddebloated-t3256814 to root my phone? Can I just use the second one to downgrade and root my phone at the same time with LGUP?
before you go on, make sure that you are on VS98624C, if you are on 25A or any other version then there is no hope.
if you are on 24C here is my video i make to downgrade. you are on the right post for downgrade
https://youtu.be/Z0_8bYJqjrc
once on 13B here is my root video to help
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDnfyWhSEEo
on my video if you are on 13B you dont need to worry about the KDZ method so got to 9:50
hope this helps and good luck on the root
Thanks for the help! Successfully got root!
