Hi, everybody.
Currently I'm running CM12.1 (temasek's Lollipop) on my phone. I have installed the latest TWRP to.
Yesterday I'll decided to make a little experiment with the new MIUI V7 and the Xcelerate kernel.
So, I after a full (advanced) wipe, I'll add the MIUI .zip folder to install. After a few seconds the TWRP announces me with red letters that it cannot install the zip file.
It says: it can't find the MD5 file, failed to extract dir from "system" to"/system". Error executing updater binary in zip (the MIUI v7 armani zip file was downloaded from an european official MIUI forum...)
Why?
Am I do something wrong?
Should I reinstall first the MIUI Recovery?

Had the same problem when I renamed the miui.zip file, when kept the original file name then the flash was successful. Otherwise try to flash miui recovery and flash it through that.
yes it had happened for me as well............ from recovery reboot to recovery.. it will ask to use supersu just swipe and install now it will b done.....
n miui 7 is great for now after trying all roms (kitkat n lollipop)
miui 7 + xcelerate kernel + dolby atmos + viper4android + xtrememods = exclnt redmi 1s (camera is grainy though)

Sorry, I have missed the topic, and cannot remove the post.
The actual device is Mi4 LTE
I haven't renamed the file, but installation is still unsuccesfull. Also tried to replace the file to the storage root, and rename, but result is the same: unable to install system.
TWRP is 2.8.5 since 2.8.7 was unable to install Ivan's AOSP ROM.
Also tried to download a full (fastboot) ROM, but MIUI site is unusably slow.

Please help me, I have a huawei ascend P1 (aka u9200), and been playing around with it for about a month. I've been trying other to find out which one would suit the best. I changed from stock to EmotionUI (Jelly Bean+EMUI1.5), and after that, I flashed Cyanogen Mod (.zip file installed in TWRP recovery).
I can't flash anything now... Can't even force install intermediate pack! (Place UPDATE.APP in sdcard\dload\update.app, and turn on phone pressing up and down keys with original recovery on it. The 1st time I flashed intermediate pack (before installing emotionui) it all went well, but now intermediate pack won't flash. I get the same error every time "Version List Verify Fail. Huawei sdcard update fail."
I think I read ALL of the post's you have about flashing Roms for this device and none of them is helping me. I tried everything:
-with stock and modified recovery.img
-with stock and modified boot.img
-changing build.prop to the one that comes with intermediate pack flash files.
Everytime I mess around and try to sucessfully install Intermediatepack, I end up with no solution besides flashing Cyanogenmod again! I have to flash it in .zip format through cwm, and that's the only way I get a bootable rom in my device. I also tried to flash a stock rom in .zip format (found them in some german foruns), and it flashes, but somewhat it doesn't work. Get's stuck on boot logo. Again, I have to flash cyanogen rom...
Please can someone help me install Intermediatepack so I can flash another Rom?
Thank You!

In cwm wipe cache, dalvic, data and system, then flash miui 3.11.1 from there, without editing build prop force upgrade to intetmediate pack
Just got my att HTCm9 and unlocked the bootloader
Installed TWRP from the cyanogenmod website
now TWRP seems to work fine, except When I go to Install CM it goes
comparing SBL1 version 1.2.50.1.36 to 1.2.50.1.35
then shows a bunch of ****ed up characters, rectangle boxes n ****
assert failed: hima.verify.sbl1 (1.2.50.1.36) == "1"
E:Error executing binary in zip '/sdcard/cm13.............'
error flashing zip
and now I am stuck here... Not sure where to move forward or what to do
Don't use latest version of Twrp if the zip of the rom don't included the new script for the flash.
Twrp 3.0.0.0 (or below) should works fine...

Agreed, twrp 3 or 2.9.0.1.
Another tip: you MUST be on 6.0 firmware to install a 6.0 rom.
I used to be on resurrection remix 7.1.2, but I flashed stock ROM so I could do a clean flash with another ROM. I used Xiaomi unlock tool to unlock bootloader again, then flashed TWRP thru ADB in fastboot. After that I went into recovery, wipe data, cache etc and tried to flash dotos 3.0, but it gave me error 7. I repeated same process with zirconium android 9.0, same thing I'm using latest TWRP, y do I get error 7?? I definitely have the right model etc
Hey mate, have you tried using a vendor based custom recovery? . Is your Twrp vendor based? ( you'll be able to see cust/vendor partition in the advanced wipe menu).
I was messing around today with Dot0s 3.0 and regular Twrp too and found out that i couldn't install any pie roms on regular Twrp. I was previously using batik recovery. So you might be able to flash on it. Let me know if you try it.
Edit : I got the same error 7 on pretty much all oreo and pie roms.

Flashing Nougat firmware first and then custom recovery worked.
See https://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-redmi-5a/how-to/rollback-downgrade-to-miui-nougat-t3938904
This is work for me.. just extract your cusrom and then go to Meta-Inf > google , edit the updater script. and delete line "get prop ......." all of that line.
so the first line must " ui_print ("Target: ........"); "
save
and select all files from your cusrom, create zip, copy to sd card, install via Recovery
Hi,
I'm using the following version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T (willow):
- Model number: Redmi Note 8T
- Android version: 9 PKQ1.190616.001
- MIUI version: MIUI Global 10.3.1 | Stable 10.3.1.0(PCXEUVF)
- Model name: M1908C3XG
So it's still the official MIUI 10 stock ROM,
the only thing I've changed is that I switched from stock to custom recovery TWRP (https://twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomiredminote8.html) and installed a GCam mod (https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-8/themes/best-gcam-mod-redmi-note-8-t3970675).
If I press the button to check for OTA updates within MIUI it still says no updates available.
However, according to this thread it's possible to download and flash the update to MIUI 11 manually:
https://www.xda-developers.com/download-miui-11-xiaomi-redmi-note-7-pro-poco-f1/
1.) Is my understanding correct that based on my current MIUI 10 ROM,
I have to download and flash the "V11.0.1.0.PCXMIXM (Global)" one from those versions mentioned below?:
43. Redmi Note 8T (willow):
- V11.0.2.0.PCXEUXM (Europe) Download Recovery ROM Download Fastboot ROM
- V11.0.3.0.PCXEUXM (Europe) Download Recovery ROM Download Fastboot ROM
- V11.0.1.0.PCXMIXM (Global) Download Recovery ROM Download Fastboot ROM
- V11.0.1.0.PCXRUXM (Russia) Download Recovery ROM Download Fastboot ROM
2.) Is my understanding correct that this MIUI 11 ROM could be flashed without loosing the existing data (apps, pictures,...)?
If yes, what would whould be the best approach (via "Recovery ROM" or "Fastboot ROM" method),
and what do I have to select in TWRP for example so that my data doesn't get wiped during the flash?
3.) Once I've flashed this MIUI 11 ROM will it get regular updates via OTA,
or is it a kind of beta version?
Thanks and best regards

judging by the present miui version in your device it's PCXEUVF so you have a european version. You can download the latest recovery rom from here. MIUI 11 EU version will be PCXEUXM. You can flash this rom from twrp. But looking at your post seems like you haven't flashed disable dm-verity zip(a zip which prevents stock recovery from coming back after every reboot), you might end up with stock recovery which is a good thing. If you end up with stock recovery then you can just put this recovery rom in a folder named "downloaded_rom" (without quotes) in internal storage and update with updater app and your data won't be lost.
In case you want to flash some other version rom like global(PCXMIXM) or russian(PCXRUXM) then you have to download fastboot rom and mi flash from here and flash it with mi flash which will erase your data so make sure you backup your data before flashing.
Hi,
thank you very much for your reply!
Okay, so as it seems like I'm having a EU version,
based on my understanding I have to select the following MIUI 11 ROM, right?:
V11.0.3.0.PCXEUXM (Europe) Download Recovery ROM Download Fastboot ROM
Most likely I've already flashed something like "dm-verity" zip ("flashed disable dm-verity zip(a zip which prevents stock recovery from coming back after every reboot'),
because I've restarted the Redmi Note 8T several times and TWRP recovery is still available.
So what do I have to select within TWRP to flash this MIUI 11 ROM without loosing the existing data (apps, pictures,...)?
Thanks and best regards

Yes you have to select the miui 11 rom PCEUXM recovery rom if yo want to flash with twrp.
Now comes the part where you have to consider a few things.
So dm-verity and forceencrypt are different things. Sometimes both features are included in a single zip file. So if your device is decrypted you'll have to go through a lot of troubles. Search for encryption in Phone settings search bar and check if your device is encrypted or not. If your device is encrypted just flash the rom through twrp and everything will work just fine.
However if your device is decrypted then you'll face bootloop into twrp every time you dirty flash/update miui stock. To solve this do any of the following :
1. Flash stock rom though twrp as you do but after that you need to format data or else your phone won't boot.[but all your data will be lost so back it up first]
2. Flash stock mi recovery and then update through updater app.
3. Flash another recovery like orangefox which provides ability to flash miui OTA without any issues. Here's a guide for you how to flash miui using orangefox.
Hope it helps.

Hi,
thank you very much for your reply!
Okay, I've ensured that my Redmi Note 8T shows the status encrypted within the settings first.
Then I've downloaded the "V11.0.3.0.PCXEUXM" ROM from the link mentioned below (http://c.mi.com/in/miuidownload/detail?device=1900375).
I then tried to boot into TWRP recovery, but Redmi-Recovery 3.0 appeared instead.
So it seems like I haven't installed the fix which avoids TWRP recovery to be replaced by the default recovery after a reboot.
So I've just rebooted into MIUI and flashed the downloaded ZIP file of the "V11.0.3.0.PCXEUXM" ROM like decribed below:
"But looking at your post seems like you haven't flashed disable dm-verity zip(a zip which prevents stock recovery from coming back after every reboot), you might end up with stock recovery which is a good thing. If you end up with stock recovery then you can just put this recovery rom in a folder named "downloaded_rom" (without quotes) in internal storage and update with updater app and your data won't be lost."
However, initially this was not working so I had to do the following additional steps (https://www.gizchina.com/2019/10/23/how-to-download-and-install-miui-11-if-it-has-not-yet-arrived/):
"Then, we go again to the ‘About this phone’ section.
And in ‘System update’ we press a few times on the logo until a small temporary warning appears.
Then, click on the three-point menu and choose ‘Select update package’.
We look for the ‘Downloaded_rom’ folder and select the ROM that we have previously downloaded."
(Note: I had to re-install the app Mi File Manager first in order for this to work!).
However, I'm getting the following error message:
"Couldn't verify.
Looks like current ROM's network carrier type is different from that in the Recovery package.
Please download the correct ROM from MIUI forum."
I did a quick research and it seems like my Redmi Note 8T device contains a strange Vodafone branded ROM ("VF" = Vodafone ):
- Anyone with the Vodafone Custom ROM still getting updates ? (REDMI NOTE 8T) [10.3.0.1/PCXEUVF] - Xiaomi:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/com...one_custom_rom_still_getting/?sort=confidence
- Redmi Note 8T w NFC - Redmi Note 8/Pro/8T - Mi Community - Xiaomi:
https://c.mi.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2576031&aid=4944161&from=album&page=1
If I remember correctly I was also wondering why it contains a pre-installed Vodafone app when uninstalling apps/de-bloating the ROM.
Thanks and best regards

Did some searching and found out that you have a vodafone rom that's why there's VF in the end and not XM. I suggest you to switch to XM one using fastboot method via mi flash. After that you'll receive updates as soon as they're released by xiaomi.

Okay, will try to do this.
But this means I will loose the existing data (apps, pictures,...), right?
I hope it will still support B28 after changing from the PCXEUVF to the PCXEUXM ROM?

Yes unfortunately you will lose existing data. Backup all your data before flashing fastboot rom via mi flash. After flashing everything will work just fine
Sorry for my bad English grammar,
I have stucked in TWRP for all this day, flashed many different roms and got the same message :
"E1001: Failed to update system/vendor image.
Updater process ended with ERROR:7
Error installing zip file '...' "
My base is 11.0.4 xiaomi.eu rom (MIUI 11, Android 10), start flashing 11.0.3 custom rom (MIUI 11, Android 9) and got that ERROR, then flashed Havoc/ASOiP rom, end up with flashing STOCK MIMAX3Global_V11.0.2.0.QEDMIXM on Mi offficial site via TWRP but still no luck, samething.
I have already tried lastest TWRP 3.3.1, 3.2.3, PitchBlack Recovery, and modified Updater-Script aswell (Delete 1st line).
Thank you for your help ! :crying:
Have you tried any of these tips?
Did you tried any android 10 ROMs?
I'm not sure if the downgrade from 10 to 9 is possible at all
I had wiped my system partition at one point and got this as well. Fixed by using the mi flash tool and the full system image (not a twrp / orange fox rom) and then wiped my data partition to get rid of the boot password. I don't know if anti rollback effects 10 to 9. Look into it though. You're looking for a fastboot rom. Just make sure to not "clean and lock". I'm having trouble finding the fastboot rom I found to fix it but it should come in a .tgz file. Good luck
