so my carrier is metropcs and before deciding to root my phone i noticed that anything having to do with the tmobile variant works on the metropcs variant. i recently bricked my phone and lost all my data and even my recovery (forgot to move from storage to sd/computer) and i had to flash the tmobile stock. from there i flashed cyanogenmod 10.2 nightly and the appropriate gapp. now i noticed the under mobile networks ->access point names it lists by default a tmobile one(fast.tmobile.com). considering im from metro is this okay? and i noticed my signal bar now reads h and dc and i no longer get 4g or lte signal. i have tried 2 different metropcs apn's (fast.metropcs.com and if i tried the one named "internet" it just disappears). the fast.metropcs.com one works and i get an lte signal but i can not receive calls or sms. any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I Google and tried another apn.
According to the post it is the stock metro apn setting, however I noticed if the lte signal is on I cannot receive calls or texts. This is distressing because I can browse the Web but can't receive anything or send anything.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Could this be a big with cyanogenmod?
So I own a D851, currently on T-Mobile with good LTE speeds in my area but quite often the phone switches to HSPA and doesn't utilize LTE coverage when I need it. I end up having to either switch data off/on or accessing the radio settings menu and setting it to LTE ONLY. I understand the slower network coverage saves battery but to just stay there I don't get when I'm getting download speeds of 9mb on HSPA and 30mb on LTE in the exact same spot. The thing that sucks about setting the radio to LTE ONLY is that I can't browse while on a call. Anyone know a workaround?

I had the same issue with ATT, unlocked phone. Made sure the APN was correct, tried may other APN settings, and finally called Consumer Cellular. They advised I did, indeed, have the correct APN (my first version). They did some type of reset on their end, and viola.
On my OnePlus it was the similar. APN was correct, same APN as the G3, but until I called CC, and their reset, phone would not show LTE at all, only H and H+
apn settings?

What are the apn settings that are working for you? I've tried several times to address this issue with CC but lte STILL isnt working on either of our 2 devices. Had no problems when used with an att account.
I am still having this same problem on my LG G3 (vs985) on Cricket Wireless
The phone is unlocked and I am on stock 4.4.2. This is very weird because I am sure the bandwith for the D850 has Tmobiles LTE bandwith. I get the "4G" icon but when I go to settings --> about phone--> network, it shows HSPA as my mobile network type. I am using fast.tmobile.com for my APN and still no LTE. Also, I do have LTE in this area (I have a tmobile phone next to me which is getting LTE. Do I have to "activate" LTE? I do not see an option for that. Any help would be appreciated.
sorry for reviving an old thread. just responding for the sake of people getting this thread googling the same question. I found the stock rom did not allow LTE. Once I switched to a non-stock rom I got LTE ok. PacMan, Cyanide, etc.
hello! i have g3 d850 at&t and its unlocked but i have problems while i try to connect phone with 3g or 4g lte data, signal bar ddisappears when i force connect with wcdma or lte. gsm work well. apn is ok. o g2 i have 3g 4g lte ok, with same apn and same parameters but on g3 i can connect only with 2g or E. please help me!
Same happen to me
Kind of the same happens to me(I'm in Claro - Argentina provider) and also D855
Signal bars go when i select WCDMA only but when i go LTE/WCDMA/GSM, i do get 3G+ but after a while (dont know if its when the device goes to sleep or idk, but after 30+- minutes) the modem stop responding, i can't make calls, get them or get any data.
I havent been able to find why this happens (tried different versions modem) and roms.... any help would also be apreciated.
I get it sometimes too and for me the solution is changing the APN. Sometimes carriers have different apns like "vodafone live" and "vodafone internet". So be sure you choose the right apn settings.

I tried it, didn't work either! After some time, the modem stop responding... dont get internet or the ability to get or make phone calls.
Hi, I'm not getting 4G on Verizon unless I switch the setting from Global (or LTE/CDMA) to LTE/GSM/UMTS, but then I get no voice/SMS
I'm only getting 3G in my home even though I always had 4G on my LG G3 and other phones. I tried switching the network mode from Global to LTE/CMDA but I still only get 3G. I then tried LTE/GSM/UMTS and I get 4G LTE at that point but no mobile connection. I tried changing the APN settings but it looks like the only thing I can do is rename the APN. I tried changing it from VZWINTERNET to INTERNET but that didn't change anything. I tried resetting to default APN.
edit: OK so my friend's SIM card gets 4G LTE in my LG G4. My SIM card only gets 3G on the G4 but on my LG G3 and on my galaxy nexus my SIM card gets 4G LTE...not sure why, i'll have to see if verizon will send me a new SIM card tomorrow when I call.
