If your TV supports DLNA and can be controlled remotely via DLNA, then you can play files from your phone to your TV. If your TV has USB port and can play .3gp files, you can connect your phone via USB in Mass Storage mode and play the files that are on the SD card. If your TV has neither USB or DLNA, then you are out of luck .
If your TV doesnt have dlna or USB, you can buy one of these: http://m.engadget.com/default/artic...ort-your-phone-a/&category=classic&postPage=1 I think its coming out soon.

[Q] External CD/DVD connection

Hello, can I connect external DVD drive via USB OTG like I do with pendrive? Or should I get one with additional power supply?
I did notice that I can plug in a mouse, keyboard and a pendrive at once to Note 8 and all works. I cannot try as noone has external dvd around.

[Q] Firetv STICK external USB

I recently got a Firetv Stick. I tried loading Kodi on it but when I stream from my NAS, the stick buffers every few seconds. I tried changing "Video Cache Buffering" via the firetv utility app nothing changes. So I want to try something else.
Is there a USB hub out there that is powered enough to support the firetv stick AND I can plug my external HDD into that the stick will see?
USB drives cannot be used with the firetv stick.

Is it even possible to unmount/remount an external drive connected to a powered hub?

Now that I'm rooted I'm wondering if it's even possible to send a command to unmount my external hard drive on the powered hub that's connected to my Fire TV and then later remount it either by a command or just power cycling the Fire TV?
I'd just like to get away from the drive always running. Haven't had any luck finding this issue here.
