can anyone recommend a good place to buy an oem battery that ships to canada or from canada ideally? thanks in advance...
http://www.amazon.ca/s/ref=nb_sb_no...arch-alias=aps&field-keywords=nexus+5+battery
thanks did you happen to order one of those?
Sent from my Nexus 9
No, I live in the states, just did a quick check, the just make sure that it looks like you are purchasing from a reputable seller.
I have ordered from http://www.repairsuniverse.com before, and they do international shipping, I wasn't sure at first so I didn't post them up.
Btw, what part of Canada are you in?
Same boat as you, located in Canada and needed a new battery for my N5.
Ordered from purebrindle on ebay (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/252020872255?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT) and it was counterfeit. Battery was DOA
Then ordered from gdcdirect on ebay (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/261431163466?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT) and it works great. A little expensive but worth it for a reputable seller imo.
Hope this helps
thanks for the posts... after all the 5x dealbreaker leaks im keeping the n5 so need a new battery...currently living in alberta...
Sent from my Nexus 9
just to follow up it seems the battery from gdc direct is fake...it didn't say lg on the back like original, can literally see it drain with screen on and seems to stick around 29 °c all the time...at this point im probably just getting the oneplusx ...
called LG canada and they told me this place sells the original battery and its just under $60 CDN...should have done this in the first place
https://www.reliableparts.ca/locations
just to follow up the battery i bought from the LG Canada recommended place (relieableparts.ca) is a real battery...its more money but at least i have a real battery that will last a few years (and not blow up)
in the process of returning the fake battery from gdcdirect on ebay...hes making it really hard and wanting me to ship back the fake battery to get a refund...avoid this seller!

Do you have the part number of the battery that you bought on Realiableparts.ca? I did not find the battery on the website. Thank you!
EDIT: I have called the store and order one by phone. For reference, here's the part number of the battery: EAC62078701

i dont have exact SOT times but my old battery (and lollipop) barely lasted a day but now im getting at 2-3 days of usage...this could also be attributed to doze in android 6 so not scientific testing at all...
I bought a replacement battery for nexus 5 from seller Cell Phone DIY on amazon.ca (seller is based in Toronto).
It arrived like 3~4 days ago and seems good so far. Date stamp on battery was 2015 04 28, back of the battery had label with random codes with "Sony" on it.

does the battery stay at 29 C? if so its fake...im not an expert but i think all real OEM batterys are made by LG but maybe there are some sony
here is an image i got off reddit that compares real to fake:
What should I do to test battery voltage? I assume plugging in to charge? That should heat up the battery, right? or no?
Also, if temperature is fixed at 29.0C, it is fake? is that what you are saying?
How much in temperature change should I be seeing?
**update, when phone is idle I see a temp of 29.4C, when I plug in to AC to charge it dropped to 28.9C within seconds.
I'll check after a bit and see what temp I see.
I did take a picture of the battery I bought before installing... here it is. Seems legit but than again... whom ever made the print can print how ever they can.... so can't really rely on that.
have no idea about voltage just talking temp here..
fake batteries just stay around 29c where a real one will have a much different range of temps (if you never see temps other than 28/29 very good chance you have a fake)

I just ordered a stock battery for $3.99 from ebay link. Looks real but maybe just a good looking fake, thought I would share with you guys anyway. What do you guys think?
It say's "Unbranded/Generic". Most of the time, if it's too good to be true.. then it is. The consensus with cheap generic batteries on ebay is that they work great for a few weeks, then the capacity quickly goes down. For the price, let us know how it works!
Shipping from Hong Kong/China, guaranteed to always be a fake. Stick to buying from sellers who ship from within the USA.
Yeah I noticed the unbranded generic but that's just the eBay description and some people don't fill that field out. They did say the item pictured is accurate or something like that so I figured why not. The battery that came with my phone was a finished in China battery so I know they make them there and I've been buying stuff from China or Hong Kong for over 10 years with mostly good luck. Either way for that price if it works I'm good with it.
well i contacted a bunch of em about those batteries
and few chose to say generic other said copies
but was impressed ( despite knowing ) that none claimed its original.
they are dirt cheap if can last for 3 or 4 months with reasonable backup then no harm .
otherwise try and search for andida slim 2300 battery
heard good things about it - provided you get a genuine andida and not a fake.
all the best.

Did you get them? Does it work well? What kind of battery life are you getting out of them? Better than stock?
Yes I ordered last week when I posted this thread but it has not arrived yet. The seller marked shipped the next day but stuff from China usually takes 2 weeks to arrive. I will take some comparison pics with my stock battery when it arrives then post some results after a few cycles of use.
It came in today, definitely a fake. They did a terrible job applying the sticker too. See attached pics knockoff battery on left, stock on right
Put in phone and working fine so far. Came charged to 66% like other batteries I bought in the past. Will update again after using a few times.
Initial run not bad from 66 down to 2% 2hr 43min screen time and 8+ hours uptime. This is exactly what I would expect from my stock battery. I'm charging now in my external charger and I will run a few days and see where it goes. Hopefully the initial cycle was not a fluke.
After a few runs this is a decent battery. The life span seems to be just less than my stock battery and it does not run hot or anything. I suspect its just a generic 1800mah battery. I wonder why they felt it necessary to use the fake labeling?
Is the battery still working good? I just ordered one on ebay.. My battery looks like it's about to burst. The back cover won't even go on right lol.
Yeah its been in rotation for a few weeks now and no issues yet. It still seems to get slightly less battery life than stock. No complaints for $4. You may want to replace that bulging battery sooner though. This one shipped fast but still took about 10 days to arrive.

I think it started swelling because of my friends horrible charger. I crashed at his house and was forced to charge my phone on his charger. It looked so cheap and felt really light but it was charging. I woke up the next day and my phone was dead. I powered it on and it was 15 percent battery and the screen blinked then died.
Ever since then I have had nothing but problems with the battery.. so that has to be the culprit .
It's been 8 days so far and it said it just arrived in CHICAGO, IL. I'll be on my n7 until it arives!
Hi all
Does anyone know where i can find a legit replacement battery for my phone. I look at amazon and they either look too cheap or have terrible reviews. Where can i get official batteries for about 20 pounds or less. I live in the UK.
Thanks
"Craftmann" makes not bad batteries. Check this.
Do you have a link? I heard that only the oem battery was recommended.
I bought it directly from Samsung. There was a review on a german site, which showed that 12 out of 12 batteries from amazon were faked ones.

What about this one?

i just replaced my battery with the oem one although i bought it for like 9€ from a local shop.
although it lasts a bit longer, when it gets to around 30% then its no more stable and it will possible have the the usual behaviour we all know dropping instantly to 20-10% in minutes etc...
anyways....is there something we have to do when we replace a battery? Are there and battery stats or something that we have to reset or tickle so that Android will "learn" the new installed battery is in place?

any others "good ones" like Craftmann that sb mentioned here?
anyone has any 1900mah battery to suggest please?
Not looking for extreme capacities and stuff, but one that you have tested and behaves just like or close to when we all had the original battery that came with the phone.
Someone recommended the Deji battery but there is no way on earth i can find somewhere else than this Turkish shop
I have been on TechOrbits battery bought at Amazon.com for about two weeks now and am satisfied with it. They have warranty, so if the battery bloats (which happened to the previous eBay knock-off in just one year) I could get it replaced.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M5EK96F/
i would really go down and get this one
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/39677-of...-1900mah-standard-battery-Reviews.htm#reviews
judging by so many positive comments i think its the safest bet so far, so many fakes....i bought one for 8€ and it sucks badly.its getting close to the performance my 3year old official battery had.
Having lost my original battery and having to rely on a cheap ebay battery I thought I'd try mobilefun. THey shipped immediately, battery arrived in what looked like official Samsung packaging. So far so good, battery lasts much longer than my cheap ebay option and probably longer than my original battery but I dont have any stats to back that up. Battery discharge is slow and steady unlike the cheap ebay option which I've found tends to drop off a cliff when it drops below 15%. I can confirm that NFC works as well. Still early days but the signs look promising.
There are genuine Samsung batteries on eBay, the best bet is listings that include a photo of the packaging. A seller that is closer to home is preferred as well (if your home is not China or Hong Kong, anyway).

I have the same behavior as well with my 1900 mA battery although I bought it from an official store for around 27 USD.
This behavior appeared only few months after purchase.
Now the battery charges in 2 hours and 5 minutes and lasts for 6 or 7 hours only (normal usage).

I bought one from ebay but it's REALLY bad. Do I have to throw out my loved S4 mini cause there are no adequate replacements avalible? Someone knows a good place to buy it in 2020?
On my side I'm using a battery from Gadfull (can be found on amazon in some EU country). I've been using one for almost 3 years and for 2.5 years the capacity was good. I will get a new one this week.

Hi guys, has anybody of you tried changing their N5's battery? If you did, where did you get the replacement?
My N5 has been showing signs of severe battery degradation. It's easily discharged. I'm finding myself charging it two to three times a day. Even on standby, it discharges a lot even there's no wakelocks I'm seeing from betterbatterystats app. Its been a year since I bought our N5 so I guess it's time to replace its battery.
I'm seeing some batteries from eBay but would like to know from where you get yours and how's the quality compared to the original default one.
Thanks.
I would also like to know that, as mine discharges pretty quickly as well.
im pretty sure google is still doing RMAs for the nexus 5. Every nexus 5 owner gets one free RMA. if you cant find a replacement this might be the next best thing

I'll definitely share my impressions when it arrives, I'm starting to get a bit concerned right now as it's been more than 3 weeks since I've ordered it and it still isn't here yet. Usually shipments inside Europe are completed within a week. Also I've noticed a very strange thing, the listed price for the polarcell battery for Nexus 5 is $140+ now, i purchased it for $25 bucks and it's crazy how the price jumped this much!!! All other plarcell batteries for other phones are around the same price as the one i purchased, only the nexus 5 one is listed $140+ [emoji15].

Finally the zenfone shutdown and never restart.
Any idea about trouble ?
Thanks for help
The battery is fully dead now.. It won't turn on.. You probably getting 2 times vibrations while putting on wall charger..
I've been facing this issue a while submitted to service center they replaced the battery.
Fix; you need to navigate to asus service center and buy a original battery from there will be a good idea.
If replacing battery DIY style, make sure it comes from reputable source. Got mine from ebay, advertised as better than original.
Although it holds charge for a day I must not overcharge it, see screenshot.
It gets to 100℅ Then in 5mins drops to 50/25/12/0 and powers off. missed my alarm multiple times now haha
Where can I buy a good battery for ZE551ML?
so we pretty much have to trash our phones when the battery dies? I cant find a battery!!! asus.com amazon.com nothing

Yep, I paid $15 on eBay for this battery. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but my SOT doubled (went from <2 hours to being >4 hours), and my quick charge works again (on last battery, it stopped working).
The battery is slightly different from my original one (model # wasn't exactly the same, and the version # of the adapter on the battery wasn't the same). It was kind of a pain in the ass to install, but it still worked after I installed it.
I can't promise that you'll have the same experience, but the seller is highly rated and there is a 30-day return period.

Hello everyone, Is there a way to know how much actual capacity (mah) is available on my zenfone ze550ml battery?
The AccuBattery app claims to calculate the actual capacity of your battery (mah) and the more charging cycles you make the better the accuracy of the estimation (although, judging from my case, the estimation does not change a lot after the first cycle)
I had my battery replaced while in Taipei for a cost of NTD 1000 (about USD 30) including labor. The Asus service center in Taipei wanted the phone for 3 days; they recommended a shop that did it in 90 minutes. The shop claimed it was an OEM battery, but it seems to discharge more quickly. On the other hand, it doesn't suddenly die with 30-40%.

Don't look like an official one, also what's the deal with the ones that say 3400mah instead of 3000?
Is that even compatible?

And that one says 2900mah instead of the OEM 3000, whats going on? wont using batteries with different sizes than the original be bad for the phone?
I am looking to order a battery online. I would like to know where you all get yours from. I am not looking for an extended battery. Thank you all for your responses.

I have stuck with using the oem LG battery and have purchased them twice on ebay

What vendors sell legitimate stock batteries (there are alot of fakes out there)?
I've purchased an extended battery from a website, shipping out of Singapore to most international places, after reading various Reddit threads giving it very high praise and blowing scepticism out of the water.
It fits about 1/4 more capacity into the same size as the regular batteries by using Lithium-Polymer.
I'm waiting for it to arrive, once it does and I've tested it, I'll be writing up something of a review on it and putting it in this section, so lookout for that over the coming weeks.
Like cnjax, I've purchased a couple OEM batteries from eBay but have recently had my secondary one start failing with odd behaviour. If the battery level goes below 25% for example, the phone just dies and it'll only charge up to about 88%, which leads me to believe it's lower quality than the original I got with the phone.
But since that's over a year ago now, I figure I'll move that to a backup.

The battery is currently out of stock, but you can check out the link here. The available price was around $30.
I've been using two of these batteries, swapping between them every two days since early December, and they seem pretty solid so far. I usually get around 5 to 7 hours of screen-on time when going from full to around 10% (see attached screenshot), and the absolute most I've gotten was just over 10 hours of SOT. My numbers seem to be close to what someone else recently posted on Reddit, showing their AccuBattery stats over 2.5 months of usage.

Hey thanks for sharing the link and the reddit information about it. It's too bad they're sold out, perhaps these can be found somewhere else, regardless I appreciate the info as I had no idea they made a higher capacity LiPo battery that was pretty much the same size, that's awesome stuff!
Looks to be about the same as this one. I am currently using and testing this one.

The Lithium-Polymer battery from Singapore is now back in stock. Looking at the updated description in the old link, it gives you the updated link here. For some reason, the title doesn't say battery, but everything else on the new listing page is the same as before.
Update: I asked the sellers about the odd title/category, and they confirmed that this is the new listing page for the battery.
I've bought the Perfine Li-Poly 4100 mAh from Ali express, it takes the same space as original battery and only costs £10!
I have bought two of these and can confirm they are healthy near new and don't have the issues that other new-old-stock batteries have. https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-OEM-LG...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2648

This battery works great! Last way longer than the originals. Same usage that would run my battery down to 15% now takes me down to 50%

Li-Po batteries are the way forward for the V20! I bought 2 Perfine ones and my SOT went from 2hrs45 - 3.5 to anything from 4.5 - 8!
The perfine 4200 one has been great for about a month now or so. Been getting about half an hour more use than stock but I've been using brightness at 100 compared to when I was using the stock one I usually had it on Auto.
Biggest issue which is close to making me try a different one very soon is my back cover keeps popping off some times multiple times a day. I have it in a case and I can always tell because the finger print scanner either stops working entirely or becomes very erratic.
I just got my maxxxjuice battery. It seems to fit. However, I put it in and started using the phone to run the battery down until shutoff (per instructions). It read 49%. In about 5 minutes of use, I noticed dark banding on the edges of the screen. It's like two dark areas running from the top of the phone to the bottom. I shut it off. Put the OEM battery back in. It had the banding, but lighter. About 5 minutes later, the banding is gone.
$33 bucks in the toilet.
