Can you point me to a gingerbread stock android for flashtool. Thanks
Here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1589399 I always flash the 58 enhanced http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591398 but that's your choice

my device now wont boot and wont even flash any light.
Does flashing in flashtool keep the device charged?
I think so. Remember to press the back key when the image appears and the green light you can let go. and just wait for the end. Btw if you can. first charge your phone doesn't matter any light turn on
good luck

Hi guys,
I have got really big problem - my i8160 is completely death. After reflashing via odin and after restarting he does nothing. Is not possible turn-on, or start flash mode. The phone is doing nothing via USB also. The worst case for me - I did not reset flash counter = No warranty.
Does it mean GAME OVER for me? Pls, does it exist any possibility to do something?
What are you try to flash? What rom you use before "fatal" flash? When you press power button, are the phone vibrate? Give some more info.

Can you describe step by step what did you do with your phone before it died. What did you flashed via ODIN? Where and what did you restored? We need to have more data to help you.
If it is completly dead ... do not worry abour flash counter. Give it to the warranty service. Many of my friends bricked their SII or SIII due to EMMC brick bug. None of them had virgin flash counter ... every phone was fixed. I think Samsung does not care about flash counter anymore. Almost every flash counter can be reseted, so what is the point?
If nothing helps, there is always a way to do JTAG:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030059
http://www.techgsm.com/JTAG_Samsung_i8160i8160P_Galaxy_Ace_2,156835.html
It is cheap and easy (if you do this for the second time). If you have basic soldering skills you do not even need to buy adapter from second link. But after JTAG you loose your warranty for sure, because you must manually clear paint from JTAG pins on your i8160. I have recovered my Kindle and my Asus router from dead state using good old PC-AT with RS232 and some JTAG cables.

Try to send it to Samsung. Maybe it's really completely dead and they can't find the cause.

Ok, I try to describe what happened. First of all, now the phone does nothing = no start, no flash mode, no vibrate, no signs. I am from middle Europe. For some reason, I have flashed a official T-com FW from Sammobile but not the last version. It was file "I8160BOLE1_I8160TMSLE2_TMS.zip". After flashing via Odin was everything OK, the phone has started OK. After that, I was looking for updates direct in my phone. The phone was downloading via 3G a file 8,5MB. Then he asked me about restarting. I confirmed this request. He has restarted in flash mode and he was flashing the updates (8,5MB file). Then I went away... After 5 minutes was I back - the phone was turned off.
That is me story.
What can I do?

Give your phone to the closest samsung service office .

And tell them your story. Looks like its the OTA's fault. I thought it was my advice from the q and a thread that caused this.

AW: Death I8160
Don't tell them your story! To flash via Odin is not official and you lost warranty. But nobody can test your counter so nobody knows you flash via Odin

Hi,
My galaxy nexus has stopped responding and since then it can't boot.
When I trying to turn on it, the screen looks like this (see ATTACH FILES) (Strange stripes, distorted image, empty space)
Whem i'm in fastboot, phone dont respond, my computer can not detect it.
What could happen to my phone? I installed cm and I'm afraid that if I give it to guarrante that they can detect the custom rom.
(sorry for my bad English)

How about download mode? If that doesn't work, omapflash.

I see this exactly, white stripes on the screen when i go to download mode

We need more info. Are you primoc or primou. If you aren't sure if the ROM you have is for your phone DO NOT INSTALL IT! This will be an easy problem to fix once we get the details worked out. Do you have a working fastboot folder?

OMG.
To turn it on: connect phone to pc.
Hold power button for about 5 secs
Then hold volume down button
You're in boot loader.
Go to recovery and plug your sd card via TWRP to pc.
Unmount it after pushing Rom zip file to sd.
Do a full wipe
Flash Rom
Flash kernel if you're s-on via fastboot using these commands:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
And:
fastboot reboot
Done phone it's working like a charm

Hi All
I have a cracked unresponsive screen on my Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and as a result I cannot do a factory reset before selling it on for parts or keep and repair even though the screens are very expensive. I have heard of resetting by using the volume keys and power keys but that didn't work when I tried it.
I'm now wondering if there is any way to factory reset when the phone is plugged into a pc?
I can't think of any other way so hopefully this might be an option if anybody can help with this problem????
If I could remove all traces of email accounts, photos, notes, and all documents this would definitely be of a help to me.
Many thanks in advance
Dave

Flash a stock ftf with the flashtool or use PC Companion to repair, see the stickys for help with that.
Many thanks for your reply
I have never done something like that with a phone but would consider trying if I had step by step instructions
Cheers

If you flash a ftf file on your z1 compact it will not erase internal storage. So i suggest you to repair it with pc companion.
Pcc will also wont do that at last it shouldnt
