I just recently bought my zenfone 2 from amazon. Ze551ml 2GB/16GB version. I was updating it using the phone's check update but I got lazy because it updates it version by version and not to the latest one. So I downloaded the latest firmware on the support site of asus with the latest one at the size of 1GB. What I'm asking is if I updatesd correctly by updating it to the latest firmware straight away?
PS My phone seems to work fine but does the ZF2 really consume more then 1gb of ram with no apps open? Oh, and I haven't rooted it yet.

Hi! So, I bought this tablet a couple of weeks ago from one of the biggest electronics sellers in my country (SCAN Malta), and I haven't been able to update to the latest firmware (4.4 Kitkat, currently I'm on 4.3 JB). I tried to do this both OTA and through Kies, however I cannot seem to find information anywhere if there are some specific region models who have not received this update yet.
My tablet is an SM-P605 LTE edition (16gb) Wifi. My second question concerns the fact that I cannot seem to record videos at 60fps I am sure that I didn't get a counterfeit, but is there a way to check the genuinity of my purchase?
Hi there
What is the exact rom that it is currently on? What rom have you downloaded and tried to flash? You need to specify further details.

Thanks for the reply. I did not download any roms, I am trying to update normally without rooting and it's telling me that the latest updates/firmware has already been installed. As far as I'm aware kitkat is already out for this device through normal firmware updates.
My baseband version is P605xxubmj4

I can't get 60FPS either even after the KK update. Either it's not enabled in the ROM or it just doesn't exist on the P605.
If it's running 4.3 and you are awaiting 4.4.2 then you just have to wait until the rom is released in your country of residence. KK has not yet been released globally, peple such as myself have flashed the rom to have the latest OS.

Just bought this thing hoping I could put a custom rom on it came with 442 and I wish it was an older firmware so I can use a custom recovery for a new rom. Pissed...I would be happy with 4.3 custom rom...
Hi,
i have a Galaxy Note 3 and a Galaxy note 10.1 edition 2014. Yesterday i got lollipop for the smartphone. Today (15th of july) i got an update for the 10.1. I didn't read very exactly and just thought "wow, lollipop also for my 10.1". It was a big update (~270MB). But after the installation i have still Android 4.4.2.
Currently i have kernel 3.4.39-4930524 and Buildnumer KOT49H.P600XXUDOE1 . Does anyone else got an update today ?
Is it possible that i got an update for lollipop and something went wrong ? Or it is just an update for 4.4.2 ? Are there logfiles i can check ? Or is there a possibility to redo the update ? If i check for updates manually, it says it has the newest.
Thanks for any help.

The build is from June.
http://www.sammobile.com/devices/specs/SM-P600/
it's the newest for your region, DOE1 or DOC1 for some others.
Don't worry an update to lollipop will take around 1.4Gb and not just small packages. Oh and by the way, we might, just might get it before the end of the year.... Sad that I paid over 700 CAD for it when I could have purchased two newer models from Samsung since. Samsung only focuses on the latest models, once you purchased a tablet it is mostly end of life and updates... ah who cares, they got your money.

Same for others, man. ASUS is the best for this "want an update? buy a new model !"
We can be happy that there's been an update on this tab from 4.3 to 4.4

The only zenfone that has received Marsha update is 550KL a.k.a laser. No clue bout the rest zenfone. And you ll need to be stock rom when the update is up.

If you want 6.0 now, you can try out cyanogenmod 13.

To piggyback off this question, I was previously rooted and installed cm13 and twrp. I then installed the stock, unrooted ROM. Can I apply OTA updates at this point (assuming TWRP did not go away when I installed stock ROM)? Does installing the stock ROM also install stock recovery?
Hello everyone,
My cousin has Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (the variant with 1.8Ghz and 4 GB RAM) and he wants to go back to stock MM ROM. My questions are:
1. Is any ROM from Asus website safe to flash with Asus Flash Tool? Or do I need a specific ROM for it to work? If I need a specific ROM, can someone give me a link to a MM ROM that's good for flashing?
2. Does ZE551ML with 1.8Ghz use the same firmware as 2.3Ghz? (it's the same model so it should, but I just wanna make sure)
Thank you in advance.
Try this tool : https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/tool-ze551mlmodder-t3458145
This one perfectly worked well for me back then : https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/wwze551ml2-20-40-19420160713-raw-t3437416
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/asus-flash-tool-aft-release-1-0-0-14-t3166256
I went back to Lollipop via the second link and then updated to MM from there.
There is no separate firmware as far as I know, I haven't seen any so yeah its the same for both there.
So i saw that samsung is releasing a firmware update for the Note 4 to N910FXXS1DQC3 which is 6.0.1 European firmware, more info here https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N910F/ , my wonder was with the 150 or so security patches in this update. Im running EmotionOS which has its own firmware requirements so i cant just change firmwares but some of the files should be useful somehow right?
If you're on an old firmware -it is probably worth updating - It is quite good for a stock rom. I'm using it myself.
