Changing Tab S 8.4's Resolution? - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am getting FPS lags in the new game I am playing, and i think it's due to the Tab S 8.4's spec not good enough to support its huge resolution... the game is quiet graphics intensive, so I was wondering if i can bring the Tab S 8.4's resolution back down to 1080P?

Try NOMone Resolution Changer this app works on LG G3, Zenfone 5 and other devices i think it works on Tab S too P.S You need root and sorry for my bag english

What game are you playing @errorrrr

Cinderella Girls Starlight Stage new rhythm game from Bandai Namco.... the 3D standard setting eats almost every device on the market alive right now....
i think the only device that runs it truly smooth is galaxy s6 edge class devices...

I tried NOMone Resolution Changer, because Hearthstone is running with a bad framerate.
I tried to set the resolution to 1280*800 160 dpi but it doesn't actually change anything.
Did someone ever manage to lower the resolution on the Tab S ?

[Q] gameloft HD games, real HD?

I bought recently a couple of hd titles from gameloft. and as played with them I noticed the following:
1-Games textures doesn't look as smooth as on the trailers !
2-The Same games look perfect and very smooth on the iPhone and iPad 2.
At first I thought that game's high resolution on a WVGA display might make the graphics look rough and not smooth.so I tried to output the game on a hd screen! The result was even worse!!
So what do you think ? Where its the problem ? Are not the games real HD? or most of the games still lack the full hardware acceleration?
PS : I used fast & furious 5 and 9mm for the experiment
I think you posted on the wrong section
But are the games optimized for our SGSII?
Of course ! I downloaded them straight from the online gameloft store

No. "HD" apps & games are really just a misnomer. What is implied by the use of "HD" is just simply that the games have nice graphics. It in no way implies that the games have a resolution of 720p nor 1080p.

The developer is the problem, there's no reason the game should look any different between ios and android.

what they call HD is only DVD quality 480
While obviously not 720/1080p, I think the graphics on these games (Modern Combat 2 in particular) are stunning for a phone. Really impressed with the look and feel of it.

Actual games on Galaxy Nexus

Hi guys, do you know if actual games (developer for Galaxy SII, Optimus 2X... at 800x480 pixel resolution) will be run at the original resolution upscaled to 1280x720px (so the power of the GPU is ok, because it elaborate the game at 800x480 res) or they (the games) will be run at full 1280x720px because to vettorial graphics (in this case the SGX540 is not so powerful...) ??
Thanks
(and excuseme for my extremely poor english)
I think that will be different on different games. For example i dont think that gameloft will scale their games to 720p but games like riptide gp are allready availebel in such resolutions.
Probably be months til Gameloft supports the Nexus Prime. The Transformer is one of the best Android tablets on the market and one of the best selling, and it still isn't supported, even after 5 months -.-
Hopefully SG2 games work on this bad boy.

Games from SGS(1) should work on this thing mainly. The GPU is the same, but the CPU is OMAP, so maybe games that work on Moto should work too.
I copied over my apk (TB restore) of Assassins Creed as well as MC3 (MC3 i had to redownload as I believe they actually download different apk depending on which device you have). THey both work wonderfully (although at first it was getting screwy and i had to clear data and cache including the stuff in the sdcard and redownload all the files). Not sure if i *had* to, but just to be safe, I did it anyways.
Anyways, it scales to full screen, although im thoroughly unimpressed by the graphics, and it shows even more on a 720p screen (that is; how unimpressive the graphics is). But I suppose it'll be a ffew months before games that look amazing in 720p will come out.
any game that has HD supports this phone like air attack 2 HD awesome graphics

I had both.
The Samsung is BY FAR the better tablet. The Asus is awful. The lag problem is very very real.
but he has tegra 4 how its lag?

The CPU does not make de difference if the OS is not well integrated. I had the TF201 and nothing but lag. Asus is not a software company, it's an hardware one. OS wize, Asus tab are not optimized.
Samsung, even though they have touchwiz, lag to a minimum compared to other ones. Their update are maybe slower coming but they are much more robust and optimized for a better experience.

Bad performance and bad frame rate on gaming

One of my friend has the one+ 5t and was playing Sonic Dash, the rendering was so fast and so smooth, it looks like 60 fps, i tried the same game on my Honor 8 Pro as well but sadly, the frame rate was not as smooth and fast as the One+ 5t... it looks like around 30 - 40 fps on the Honor 8 Pro.
Is it a hardware limitation on the Honor 8 Pro ? (the game takes so much ressources that the hardware cannot follow) or, the game is not optimized for the Honor 8 Pro ? (the game doesn't explore all of the potential from the Honor 8 Pro's hardware).
Kirin chipset has always been about one step behind..
even when you compare with Exynos that uses Mali, Exynos chipset has got extra cores compared to Kirin.
but yes, sometimes it also requires optimisation from developers.
having said that, do remember than Kirin processor on the honor8Pro is kinda old. iirc, it's a chip that was launched at the end of 2016..

The biggest prick caused by 2k res screen. Once got oreo updated, change your screen res to 1080p, your good to go.

I have Oreo, and you can change resolution in battery settings, even though i can set resolution to low (HD or Full HD instead of 2k), it doesn't mean games' performances will increase a lot.
In Sonic Dash for example, whatever resolution i use, the frame rate is still low and bad...

Then its the game fault cause dont optimise for our Mali GPU. As for other games i'm using, change res to 1080p definitely increase fps and become smoother.

kirin 960 uses Mali g71- MP8 gpu instead bof the MP20 core version. That was a big mistake in my opinion. Samsung used MP20 in their Exynos which gives it a nice boost.
And also 2k resolution make it harder.
Lowering the resolution doesn't help as it is an IPS display rather than Amoled.
Besides optimisation sometimes does matter
Frame drops and Performance issue
This is a issue with all of the honor 8pro , there are lot of frame drops which are quite annoying and all the apps are not optimised . When I compared my honor 8pro with Moto X force which has Snapdragon 821 , all the apps in Moto X force
are buttery smooth which is very addictive and cool ,but my honor 8 pro even with this
Hi Silicon Kirin 960 it performs disgusting , there are frame drops and sometimes it sikps them ..... Disappointed with my purchase
Bad software optimisation, and worst part is rom development support is dead
On paper and benchmarks kirin 960 is a beast but when it comes to real world usage, the processor is sh*t. Too much frame drops, ui lags and glitches everywhere. I hate this phone and regret my decision to buy it over oneplus. No doubt that this processor is fast but its not smooth. When I compared general ui navigation, my zenfone was much smoother despite of having Snapdragon 625.

Best Resolution for Pubg Mobile w/ GFX tools?

Hi, I'm wondering what other note 10+ players are using for their resolution settings for Pubg Mobile. I've been messing around with it and cant seem to figure out if a higher resolution improves visibility, or if I'm better off with a low res...I am running it on smooth/60fps regardless of the resolution.
I'm not new to the game, just new to the phone...any advice would be appreciated!
Bet you would get better grams if you came and played on the computer!!!
