Hello,
Today I got new headphones but the sound quality is poor. I think it may be due to headphones having microphone - thus 4-pole connector. I know there are more types of these connectors, and I don't really need a microphone so I was wondering if something like this would help.

It is hard to tell... Maybe a little buzz, but I would say it's more like there is little-to-no mid range. The sound is just "boxy". It is perfectly clear on my old headphones which don't have a microphone.

Got my g3 today and I loved it to I connected a headset....
When I connect headsett it's goes beep beep once and with my bose headset it makes interference sounds.
Anybody else have this issue?
I think i get it with earphones in the box at certain volume

I have the same issue. With my custom headphones I hear a lot of hum noice during music play but with other headphones it's ok so I think that problem is with impedance. 25 ohms for custom (1964Qi) and 15 ohms Sony MH1C. If anyone can test it or has idea how to solve it?

Today I tested 2 LG g3 and 1 LG G2. All off the phones do have this issue we have. But only with my bose. Testet nye pair of headphones and same problem so our phone is OK and I am buying a new headset possibly wireless
C'mon I don't think that problem is in my 500$ headphones. It looks like some incompatibility but needs to be investigated somehow. Some portable headamp or DAC can help as I need good headphones

The problem is in the LG phones not just ours but all LG phones. Maybe it is software related?
It's possibly hardware related and just poor isolation of the circuits used for audio on the phone. I hear the two beeps on earphones and headphones but little/no static.

It's cheaper. PC motherboards are only _just_ starting to get isolated audio as a standard feature and think how long they've been around. To isolate components from other parts you need more room as well, something phones don't have.
Try pulling it in and out a few times and then wrot wipe the connector. I've read some making this work. Seems to be an oil or something in there.
Update. This did the trick for me!
hello everyone.
I've a question to ask about jack earphone connecting.
While I push jack to device, I always hear loud of noise.
I don't know this is good or bad?
note : after push jack noise is clear.
thank you.

Does it sound like normal static? If your headphones are working as normal all the other time its not a problem. Some headphones gets this based on how many channels its 3.5mm connector has and where some of them get contact with the output.

thank you for your answer.
Suggest me a good in-ear earphones under $100 with high impedance. I want to get rid of this horrible hissing noise.
This has nothing to do with impedance. I have in-ear headphones with 16 Ohm impedance (JBL T110) and there's noise as well. But I have on-ear headphones (Connect IT CI-235) and there's no noise at all. The issue is how much voltage can the headphones take. So I would recommend you to get some on-ear ones and if they're above 20 dollars they should do the job.

Someone said, we need to buy earphones with impedance of 32 Ohm or more. So when you buy better check impedance, it should be more than 32 Ohms.

That is odd then. As I've said I have 16 Ohms and I don't have any noise at all. Well better take the extra precaution if your budget is 100 dollars

Actually I do have 16ohm impedance earphone. Sony EX-15AP. Hissing is very much audible.
It's really weird, I have never heard this hissing.
I even just tried a pair of free ones I was given free on a sightseeing bus, quality is rubbish but still no hissing, I get a crackle if I twist the jack but that's it.
Problem is combination of low impedance and high sensitivity - which is pretty much case for majority of IEMs. Bigger headphones are often less sensitive so they do not tend to have the hissing issue. For 100usd, I would suggest buying any headphones you like + iEMatch impedance adapter (https://ifi-audio.com/portfolio-view/accessory-iematch/) - particularly if you need mic/buttons.
Edit: per iEmatch manual, mic/buttons on headphones will be disconnected by this adapter, so better verify with Ifi company before purchase.
Budget version would be ChiFi headphones (KZ, Senfer, ..) + cheap impedance adapter, but beware that this combination doesn't allow usage of cable with mic/buttons. I am quite happy with the budget solution..
Just flash the hissing noise fix and you can use any earphones

What's that? There was one "fix" flying around few months ago, but it did absolutely nothing (modified some parameters in mixer path xml file with no effect whatsoever). I would love to have something which actually works..

That's actually what the "fix" does. It's a hardware issue so no soft fix

Link please? I saw and tried only one and that was useless - I even tried to decrease the headphones gain in the xml file by ~99% and it didn't do anything.

Unfortunately I hear absolutely no difference in the hissing or overal volume of headphones. I'd say it's only a placebo "fix".. On the other hand, decreasing the headphones gain via custom kernel masks the hissing quite effectively - hissing is still the same, but as you have to turn up the volume, Signal To Noise ratio increases as well and you can't hear the noise over music. Quiet songs/passages are still bad though.

I got interested on this. I looked for some cheap ones but there is something i dont get, there are 30, 70 or 150 ohms so i wonder which one i have to pick. And some of those even say that they dont work on mobile phones so... I get even more confused.
And want to know if you found some cheap ones with the mic/buttons function

I guess it only changes the gain or amplifiction. But my piston 3 almost gets no hiss with that fix. Super noisy without.

70 ohm should be fine, it will remove pretty much all the hissing and keeps overal volume high enough. Or there is an even cheaper and more versatile alternative - cable with analogue volume control (https://www.ebay.com/itm/131489435905). By turning the volume down, you effectively increase the impedance and hissing disappears. And you can fine tune it to each headphone. Though still no mic/button control.. I have similar one with button and mic on the cable and it makes wonders, but I purchased it years ago and can't find it anymore. Try to look for one in your favorite shops, you might have more luck.

No idea what it does, on my phone nothing audible. From the description it should do what custom kernel with sound control does - only mask hissing.
Just get a pair of Apple EarPods. They have an impedance of around 40-45 ohms and work great.
Hello,
I have an other problem, i have noise in the speakers like when i accelerate, the sound of the engine speed appears on the speakers !
All is ok between the HU, just i have 5/6 RCA that is not connected... Is it possible that is this RCA the problem ? What can i do please ?
Someone can tell me what can i do ?
Thank you !!
If it’s like a wining noise that changes with the revs, that’s usually caused by poor earth connection.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Earthing issue, alternator whine, or just bad insulation on your speaker wires. Look at some isolators and noise filters.
it may be an issue with the am/fm antenna, try disconnecting and see if you have speaker wine then. If theres no speaker wine when the antenna is disconnected, get an antenna noise filter

Getting isolators, noise filters or suppressors is just papering over the cracks so to speak. They do get rid of the noise but they also reduce your sound quality. It’s better to find the problem and fix it rather than just buying noise filters etc.
Id tape up all the connections behind the unit, check all the ground connections, or if your car has a factory amp it could be that the amp isn’t getting any power so this is one of the side effects that you see. I have an Audi A3 with Bose amp and this is one of the problems you get with these units if there is no blue amp cable supplied with the speaker cables to be able to turn the amp on.

I agree. Papering over the cracks is a perfect description. Another decent saying is needle in a haystack.
Come back in 12 months when you still haven't got rid of it. These things can be a nightmare to solve.
My LG G7 ThinQ distorts with Quad DAC on at high volume... Without a DAC sound is clearer and louder, and it doesn't distort... if I had to guess I'd go with possible faulty headphone jack or your headphones, have you tried other sets of headphones and had the same issue? only thing I can recommend is check different headphones if it persists factory reset if it persists again take it to where you got it from and see what they can do about it.

The cause may be my resoldered headphones, but yeah, I tried other headphones and they also distort... Sound is a lot worse with DAC on... With normal mode sound is completely normal, which is why I suspect the DAC is dying... I just hope I can fix it for low price as paying $100 for something like that would be stupid... That is the only reason I bought this phone and now it distorts... Qualcomm DAC is not bad, but I prefer ESS DAC...
