I having problems with my Tab Pro 8.4 Wi-Fi version. The thing is, that I can watch 1440p or 1080p60fps on YouTube without lag and loading, but while watching Twitch...... it becomes A NIGHTMARE.(it's not internet problem, I tried to watch for 10mins same channel on two devices, and only my tablet need to load sometime (loads for minute and you wait like 15-30s)) I don't know what this is, can someone help to fix this problem?
P.S. I tried to restart my tab and router

Hi,
The WIFI on my Note 8.0 is not working properly. I have a 4 MBPS line at home and it works perfectly with my other devices (Laptop, Phone) but somehow it just doesn't works properly with my Note 8.0. No matter what I stream (HQ videos, normal videos or audios), there is always a buffering lag which is very frequent (after every 5 seconds, it buffers for 2-3 seconds). I have tried everything, re-installed my WIFI network but the problem remains. Is this an OS issue ? Has anyone else faced this kind of issue ? (I have kept my WIFI on during sleep in advanced settings, so that is not an issue).
Any suggestions ?
Regards,
Pushkar
I just got my Note 10.1 2014 (LTE) and tried to test a bit. So, new Galaxy with Nova launcher.
I have found YouTube videos don't play smoothly. I see freezing screen (not extreme, but just not smooth).
I did also try Vimeo app and I am having the same issue.
Do your YouTube(HD) videos play smooth and is there anything I can do about to make them play smooth?
I dont have problems with those apps maybe try to enable "force gpu rendering" in developer options. Just as an idea even if I think this wont have a big effect

It does not help. My YT videos are still freezing
An other guess after a bit of reading : disable hardware overlays in developer options. Seems to fix the problem for a few users

I experience the same as you. But not as often . Sometimes the app itself freezes and sometimes it says connection lost. I have to wait a while or close and restart the app..
I have a problem with youtube video not streaming smoothly, every 5 seconds or so it stops to buffer, does anyone know how to fix this?
YouTube videos are pretty much unwatchable since I bought my tablet

This is going to sound weird, but try signing into YouTube.
I had the same issue with video playback "network errors" ... after I signed in? Poof ....
My youtube app was useless since it would take like a minute to load and then keep freezing so I decided to change my Internet connection (fortunately at I have two different internet connections in my house) anyways the first had more than enough bandwith to play youtube videos but it just didn't want to so I changed to my other wifi connection and now youtube app works smoothly.
Try a different connection at a friends house or if you have two try the other and it should work, still don't know why youtube didn't work on the first one - could be router and Note don't like each other but honestly I have no idea.
Hello! I am having a really annoying problem with youtube (the website m.youtube.com not the app) on my Nexus 7 2013. Basically, the problem is that it takes FOREVER to load a video. Now, I may not have the fastest internet connection in the world (far from it actually), but I can easily load a 720p video on my laptop in 5 - 7 seconds. Now on my nexus 7, the EXACT same video at 720p takes 23 - 24 seconds to load! I could turn off hd and cut about half off of that time, but then it looks like a mosaic of pixels -_- I really don't get this, as mobile youtube was always way faster than on the desktop for me. However, ever since they updated the UI (to look more like the desktop) it is so slow. I love youtube and watch it every day, so this is a big problem for me. If someone could help me, I would be really grateful! Thanks!

Same, happens on my Nexus 7 but not on my Note 3 even though they run on the same WiFi network.
I am not sure what is causing this
I'm lucky if I can watch a video that doesn't 1: stutter or buffer 2: lockup part way through the video and 3: lockup my N7.
Sometimes clearing the cache in the app helps but most of the time it doesn't.

I know right? Don't even get me started on trying to rewind or fast forward...it sometimes crashes my tablet so bad I have to hard reset. I wonder if it has something to do with flash? On my old kindle fire with a custom ROM and flash I have no problems. N7 doesn't have flash. Wonder if there is a relationship.
Just use the Viral app instead if YouTube! It loads real 720p faster than the sub par HD option in the original app. It also has allot of other improvements like background playback and popup play.
It never crashes for me, but buffers a lot. None of the other devices (Asus tablet, laptop, mobile) have this problem.
Got the Amazon fire TV one week back and its not rooted, but Installed XBMC.
When I try to watch a video on you tube after 5 to 10 minutes, it starts buffering and the video doesnt play afterwards, I have to go back and open it againa, and forward it to the original place and watch it, again after 5 minutes samethign happens..
Same with XBMC, after 5 minutes video buffers, but after couple of minutes if click play button video resumes, but after couple of minutes buffering starts...
I watch youtube on my laptop or chromecast, it works perfectly , so i dont think there is any problem with wifi. Also I have download speeds of 20MBPS +
Is it because of faulty device or anythign else. Yestereday i cleared youtube apps data, still the problem continues.. Please suggest me how can I resolve it??
TIA
I can't help but blame and jab qualcomm with a stick when it comes to Fire TV problems.
Especially Fire TV is stuck with older v5x instead of v66.
I have my own video issues where it fails entirely.
After long enough, videos completely refuse to work (error ocurred) on YouTube and many others until I restart with ctrl+alt+delete hotkeys.
I haven't seen it happen in quite a while though since modding several minor aspects with various performance tweaks.
I talked to staples, they are sending me a new device, but looking at the problems that people have, the new device may not solve the problem... Lets see..
I've noticed that, especially in Twitter and Facebook, when I try to watch a video on my 5T, it takes the phone 18-22 seconds to switch to HD. The first 20 or so seconds, the videos play in pixelated Standard Def. This happens on wifi as well as 4G, whereas my old LG G3 plays the same videos in HD right from the start. Anyone have an idea why the 5T can't do that or what I can do about it?
The problem seems to be gone in YouTube or when playing embedded video in the browser.
Thanks!

I've been having this issue since OP3. Hasn't figured out how to fix it.
