Hi guys,
i never posted but i use this forum as my main reference when comes to roms, flashing etc.
So i will use this post also to say a big THANKS
Here is the problem:
i was trying to upgrade my Cyanogen from the 10 to the v 10.1 (JB 4.2.x) but the classic way flash boot.img and then the rom didn't worked; i get everytime a error getprop("ro.bootloader") == ............... when i try to write the rom, i think that is a problem of the bootloader version (0.95).
Then i tried to flash the version 1.39 with the CID VODAP102 but also here i get this error:
Code:
< waiting for device >
sending 'zip' (12876 KB)... OKAY [ 1.578s]
writing 'zip'... INFOadopting the signature contained in this image...

sending 'zip' (12876 KB)... FAILED (remote: (00030003))
finished. total time: 0.001s
Then if i try again it remain blocked in " sending 'zip' (12876 KB)... "
I tried with locked and unlocked but same issue.
I saw somewhere that i cannot go directly from my version that i stoo old to this one so i was looking for a older version but unfortunately htcruu closed and im stucked.
Now Im running my nandroid backup so i can use the phone but i can try everything.
I think that the crucial point is to update the bootloader to version 1.3x, then the rom flashing will be easy.
Thanks in advance!

Thats what i did so far:
1. Flashed the old backup and updated it, hboot still the same
2. Flashed the RUU, hboot still the same
3. Tried to flash again and again the new hboot 1.39 that i found in a list thread in the rom section, success
4. Tried to flash back my Cyanogen 10 backup, done but does not boot
5. Wiping the phone with CWM but this time it wiped also my "sdcard" and i was with low battery and no rom
6. Found a trick to how charge the phone and then i flashed TWRP to gain access to the usb mount and i loaded Cyanogen 10.1 + gapps
7. Flashed with TWRP the rom and gapps and then flashed back CWM
A bit long but i did it! : P now that i have the newer boot loader i cannot use anymore the cyanogen 10, it remain blocked in the cyanogen logo.
Thanks for the support!
How to I update my hboot from 0.94 to 1.36?
I've tried but it wont update - my CID is HTC_44 (or 044) - i've checked and it has OTA update but I'm not sure how to do all the hboot updating thing.

Hello,
Im having reallly big problem with my Desire HD device and unfortunately,I realize this is only my fault and inadvertence. Im hoping that someone will help me with my problem...
First of all, I've had stock 2.3.5 on my device and every possible blockade. I've used Downgrade_v2 files (with adb and Gingerbreak and 1.32 stock android) but it wasn't working as it supossed to do. I've found nice tool to unblock DHD, called EasyAceRootTool. Everything went OK, new H-Boot was uploaded, unblock process went smoothly, Revovery Touch was uploaded to DHD as well, Superuser was installed too.
And at this level I've hurried too much, because I've installed by recovery new rom on Android 4.0.4 , this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839004
And of course... I know now iVe forgot to make S-OFF, android doesn't start, nothing happens at all....

2)Install RUU, It says that there is a problem with Hboot and i need to wait for upgrade
3)Install PD98IMG.zip (pulled out from stock RUU) by recovery, it says that this image is "bad"
4)Restore backed up adnroid from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920876&highlight=hboot, from section "Install stock Vodafone ROM", but it didn't helped as well, it says MD5 checksum failed...
5) When im trying to unlock Hboot in EasyAceRootTool, it communicating with device, but then it says : "Your device is not recognized"
Please guys... what else should I do ??

Wait, no. Flash the ROM from recovery. You can't flash zips like that in fastboot. You can flash ROM images, but it makes more sense for you to get a recovery and flash zips instead.
If you don't have a recovery, first you need to install one. If you have a rooted ROM, you can install a recovery from apps: ROM Manager for ClockworkMod, 4ext Updater apk (from 4ext's website) for 4ext, and GooManager for TWRP. If you don't, download a recovery.img and flash it from fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
.
If you do, just go straight to flashing the zip from recovery. Then,
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
.

What are you trying to do?? If you have an unlocked bootloader a RUU will never flash. Besides, being S-ON requires the specific RUU for your device.
If you have CWM and an unlocked bootloader, you can flash any custom rom in recovery but need to flash boot.img after flashing the rom.
You can't flash apks in recovery, only zips. Then fastboot flash the boot.img.

Dear all,
I recently unlocked bootloader, rooted and flashed CandySix ROM on my M9. Everything was fine until I stupidily relock the bootloader (using fastboot oem lock). Then the phone can not boot into system and recovery also.
I tried to re-unlock again using the same method (Unlock_code.bin) from HTCdev. The cmd said success, i press Yes on the phone, however after reboot the status stayed the same "Relock". I did like 20 times but it was the same.
I also tried to flash many RUUs that i found but no hopes (maybe i didnt find the right one).
Now the phone stuck at download mode and bootloader mode, can't do anthing else.
Can anyone helps me how to fix this or to find the right RUU for my phone please? Many thanks.

I think you need a new unlock token as when you relocked your bootloader it will need to generate a new one. Follow the unlock bootloader process from the beginning to see if you can unlock it again and go from there. Good luck.

You can't flash RUUs with fastboot anymore since the M9. They became too big and the normal fastboot isn't able to handle them anymore. Either you use the SD card method which is described in my sheet or you look for htc_fastboot.
As a sidenote: You are aware that RUUs are encrypted and therefore can't get opened the way you normally open archives, aren't you? Winrar isn't able to do so at all and 7-zip has to use "right-click > open > #". Nevertheless you won't have any benefit from opening it.

After doing some stuff i didn't remember, the phone is now Unlocked. I can be able to flash a TWRP 3.0.0 and flash a CandySix ROM. All the process was smooth. The phone can boot normally now. Thank you guys.
However, there is no Sense on CandySix ROM. I really want to upgrade to another ROM with Sense but i can't due to my current firmware. I dont know how to upgrade the firmware for that. I can't make my S-off using Sunshine also. Any suggestions where to start? Thanks.
Did you try the SD card method I described in my google sheet? Or did you download the needed htc_fastboot files if you prefer the command line? I had no problems with flashing the 2.10.710.5 RUU when I created my backups for the SKU 710.
Or did you try to use the TWRP backup guide in my sheet?
Otherwise if you're willing to pay around 20 bucks you could use llabtoofer's RUU service. Either google or use the link in my spreadsheet.

1) I have purchased an "international ver. HTC M8 brand new" from amazon third party seller for 200.00 USD
2) came with many evidence showing it's not brand new, but well disguised to look like new. See details:
1. I can tell it's a resealed package from experience; cable is a generic one that tries to mimic the original HTC cable, and it only charges (no data transfer). The charge brick has no film and has micro scratches.
2. Phone has no carrier logo, boot screen has no carrier logo, system has no carrier bloatware. The firmware seems to be unlocked/developer, but the CID(T-MOB010) and MID(0P6B13000) of the phone is T-Mobile!
3. As a brand new phone, it came rooted and S-Off.
4. OTA update fails indicating device has been modified.
3) Coming from a marshmallow phone, I decided to manual upgrade to Android 6. I downloaded the unlocked/developer & T-Mobile RUU from HTC, but both update fails at the black screen with silver HTC logo. (I forgot to mark down the error code, since I'm still a bit rusty from couple of years not digging this deep.)
4) I went ahead and unlocked the bootloader through HTC dev, then performed the same RUU. Same result.
5) I setup adb, then performed CID and MID change to make it the Dev ver. (BS_US002 + 0P6B12000). Ran the same RUU, same result.
6) Then I extracted the zip from the RUU and placed it in the ext sd to flash in hboot. Result was an error of file being too big.
7) I installed TWRP recovery, used it to flash the zip, received error of extraction fail. performed RUU, same result as above, noticed the error 155.
8) Next at fastboot usb, performed command <fastboot flash zip 0P6BIMG.zip> ends up with FAIL and Remote: not allowed message.
9) Finally, I tried RUU mode. Ended with the 32 header error:
Code:
C:\fastboot-win>adb reboot bootloader
C:\fastboot-win>fastboot oem rebootRUU
...
(bootloader) Start Verify: 0
OKAY [ 0.031s]

FAILED (remote: 32 header error)

which according to Sneakyghost's post, he doesn't know what is the cause

I have dug through many xda post and google, but had no luck.
I felt pretty helpless and frustrated now, makes me wonder what is going on with this phone.
This is gonna be my last resort, pls if someone knows what's going on and how to fix this, teach me, Please!
feel free to ask about more info, I will try to explain in further details.
I give you the basic idea as I'm away from my PC.
1. To install the official marshmallow RUU exe, you need to fastboot flash its firmware first.
You should be able to find the official firmware in my thread linked in my signature on post #5
2. To fastboot flash a rom.zip, you need to use htc_fastboot not the generic fastboot which gave you the error.
Read this for 3 options on how to install rom.zip - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67314040&postcount=1749
SOLVED UPDATE: I did some more reading. I took the Bell (BM) rom zip
(named "0PJAIMG_HIMA_UL_L50_SENSE70_ATT_BM_1.32.666.6_R2_Radio_01.01_U11440221_59.04.50303G_2_F_release_426170_signed.zip"), and renamed it to "0PJAIMG.zip".
Copied that to the root of a microSD card and put that into the phone.
Booted phone with VOLDOWN+POWER and the flash process began. It rebooted a couple of times during the process. It said to hit POWER to finish. After that, phone booted normally (like out-of-the-box again).
With that said, I still would like to have root... so would still appreciate any input as to what I did wrong below. Thank you!
Hello. I'm afraid I have messed my phone up a bit, and would really appreciate it if someone could help me out.
It's a Bell HTC One M9 (0PJA110), and it is (was?) on 5.0.2 Lollipop. According to the RUU EXE I just tried (unsuccessfully), it says it is an image version (or HTC system version) 1.32.666.6.
Here's what I did, from out-of-the-box. I just wanted root access so I could use Titanium Backup, so I read a bunch of threads to get started. I thought I had gathered enough knowledge, so I:
1) Unlocked bootloader via htcdev
2) Flashed "htc-one-m9-lollipop-twrp-2.8.7.0-hima.img" to recovery. (I chose this version because I read in some threads that version 3 or higher of twrp doesn't work well if it is flashed to a Lollipop phone).
3) Rebooted, went immediately into recovery (so that TWRP could ensure it doesn't get overwritten)
4) Then rebooted again, and went into recovery (to make sure TWRP was still there)
5) At this point, I should have let the phone boot normally, to make sure that was OK. But I did not... so I cannot tell if this is where my trouble began
6) Next, in TWRP, I flashed "SR1-SuperSU-v2.79-SR1-20161221223537.zip". It seemed to go well.
7) Reboot from TWRP.
8) Phone shows first HTC logo, then goes to a black screen (black but illuminated). That's it.
My next thing to try was this Bell TWRP zip from a nice post on here. Filename is "Stock_Bell_LP_5.0.1_1.32.666.30_TWRP.zip". I tried to flash it via TWRP but it failed right away (I do not have the exact output but can try again to get the text, it if that helps).
Naturally I was starting to get worried, so I immediately started looking for RUU's so I could start over.
1) I re-locked bootloader
2) I tried a generic RUU ("RUU_HIMA_UL_M60_SENSE70_ATT_MR_NA_Gen_Unlock_3.35.617.31.exe") but it would not flash - I assume it is checking CID and knows it's not correct for my phone
3) I downloaded a Bell-specific zip from Androidruu ("0PJAIMG_HIMA_UL_L50_SENSE70_ATT_BM_1.32.666.6_R2_Radio_01.01_U11440221_59.04.50303G_2_F_release_426170_signed.zip", verified the MD5 matched whatever androidruu.com said it was.
4) Renamed the zip to rom.zip to make the next commands easier
5) Ran "fastboot oem rebootRUU", verified the RUU screen appeared, then "fastboot flash zip rom.zip"
It didn't work Here is the output:
Code:
target reported max download size of 800000000 bytes
Invalid sparse file format at header magi
sending sparse 'zip' (67085 KB)...
OKAY [ 4.791s]

I wish I could try a Bell RUU exe... but I am having a hell of a time finding one.
Any advice would be appreciated (regarding anything I did wrong up above, or regarding how I can get myself out of this mess). Thank you for reading.
Download the latest RUU to your device. In dowload mode type fastboot oem rebootRUU. Entering the Htc screen, run RUU.exe.

Thank you, but same result as my earlier attempt. The EXE itself can get the phone from bootloader mode/download mode into RUU mode, and it starts the process, but fails with "please get the correct rom update utility".
I assume it's because this RUU is not an exact match for my phone.
