as we all know one plus one is the flagship killer of 2014....
i am so much confused between opo & zenfone 2...
i wanted to purchase asus zenfone 2 but i dont think there will be much development for this device....
if i buy one plus one there are so many cyanogen mod themes....
but one plus one has many problems too... while there are very less chance to get any cm rom on asus device....
zenfone 2 offers better specs but one plus one supports more development
please help me which one should i buy one plus one or asus zenfone 2..???

You should wait to see the official price of zenfone and compare the cost/benefit.

I'm almost sure the zenfone 2 will be a popular phone and popular phones always have a good community so the chances of zenfone get cm are high. But we have to wait to see

Went for the OnePlus One
Since the latest information regarding the Zenfone 2 was suggesting the $199 price tag would be for the 5" 720p device, I decided to order the OnePlus One instead.
It might be that the the 5.5" 1080p model ends up costing $199, but in Belgium (where I live), I suspected it will be more expensive.
The OnePlus one has been out for quite a while now, reviews are super positive. A LOT of development is going on for it, whereas the Zenfone 2 will be brand new in March (?), no reviews at all exist about this phone (will it be any good?) and development will start slow.
Also (correct me if I'm wrong), it would take some work to port CM to the Intel x86 platform whereas the OPO runs CM natively.
I ended up paying $356 for the OPO incl shipping, which seems reasonable. If the Zenfone 2 5.5" 1080p edition with 2GB of ram ends up costing $199, it would be a super deal, but I doubt it...

i totally agree with you most of the device running cyanogenMod have snapdragon or any other chipset....
but i have recently heard that cyanogen is not supporting opo anymore and they are working on their own os namely oxygen os.....
but if we look at the price point i think 4gb version of zenfone 2 will be available at 350$ or may be less than that...
well it can't predicted which device is much better...
well i will wait one week after the release of zenfone 2 and wait for the review of other people ...
hoping for good....
and about development i think xda have amazing devs i think anyone of the developer will definitely help asus users to get cm....

True. Another reason for buying the OPO now is that I really needed another phone as my current one is just too slow for daily use now. If I had time I probably would wait for the Zenfone 2 to come out, wait for reviews/opinions. If you have lots of time to wait, you can wait for the OnePlus 2 (Q3 I think) too.

You will regret the OPO if you are even a minor perfectionist, and the display quality is important to you. I went through 5 of them because I wanted to love it, but all 5 had terrible yellowish bottoms of the screen.

Yes, on all 5, and some worse than others. Maybe it has something to do with my retina cones!!
Are you using the on screen navigation keys? If so it makes it much less noticeable. Try turning them off, and brightness up and use hangouts or an app with a white background. Or better yet, don't even look for it and it will never bother you.
I was almost set on a OnePlus One, but I spent the day reading about the Zenfone 2, and now I'm quite intrigued by it. I have a few questions that I hope I can receive some advice on.
1. Purely in terms of performance, how does this particular Intel chip fare against the Snapdragon 801 in the OnePlus One?
2. I keep reading comments about supposed poor battery life on Intel Atom processors, compared to the Snapdragons. Are there any concrete facts concerning this? Or is it just generally assumed that the Intel Atoms translate to poor battery life?
3. I'm concerned about the aspect of software updates and custom ROMs for the Zenfone 2. Asus apparently aren't particularly quick with OS updates, and I'm worried that the Zenfone might end up not receiving as many as something like the OnePlus One. I'd also want the option to try an alternative ROM or two, say CM, in the event I don't like Asus' factory ROM (a lot of people don't seem to like it). Do you guys think the Zenfone 2 will be restricted in that sense, being an Intel architecture as opposed to ARM?

Moorefield in the Zenfone 2 smokes the 801 and is more on par with 805. Battery shouldn't be an issue as the new Intel processors are built on 22nm FinFET vs the older 32nm planar. FinFET is what Samsung and TSMC are supposedly releasing this year with the new Samsung Exynos built on what is equivalent to 20 nm FinFET but they are calling 14nm. Anything that reads z2xxx are the older processors which I don't even know why Asus is using. The new processors are z3xxx model numbers. I had a Dell Venue 8 pro with the new Intel chip running full windows and the battery life was comparable to my iPad Air except it ran full windows
Actually it is Intel vs Snapdragon
And Dude go for OnePlus One!
Awesome phone and best specs for this price!Overall nice phone with great features.

I'll answer any question!
I think of buying an oneplus one, but I'm concerned about some touchscreen issues that some people had.
Does anyone know if these issues have been fixed?
In my opinion, one plus is the best choice. He is good looking. He is not strong but he is famous.

many people are telling that they are facing yellow tint, touch and heating issues while playing games...
is that true..???
Hi guys i'm from italy and i'm trying to buy a tablet. Use is only university and some videos. I found this second hand (still 1 year warrancy, not really used) lg g pad 8.3 at 150€ (ie 170$, 110£ for those of you who aren't from europe )
First question is: is it an affordable price? Only wifi version
Then, i would ask you about the battery life, and if it is still good (no lagging, fluid) through everyday use. I have a nexus 5 which i consider very responsive and very good, is it comparable? And what about a comparison with the ipad mini one (in italy has the same average price of 150€ for a second hand) ? It is older but it is still a good device. Do you think lg g pad would win 10-0?
Thanks guys!
150€ is quite a good price in Italy where most tech things seem to be more expensive than normal! Against iPad mini it wins hands down except maybe screen brightness.
Nexus 5 has s800 and Adreno 330 while this has s600 and adreno 320. It's very fluid, but there's some lag here and there sometimes when playing heavy games. And it has micro sd slot, so it's great to store movies! It also has a premium build quality.
Well I bought my G pad twice the price 300€ new about 1 year ago! Go for it

and what about custom roms? I'm used to my N5 so i have a large option does the gpad increases a lot his performances with custom roms?

Only Korea and some Asian countries have lollipop for now! Verizon version as well. The rest are still waiting for an ota. The Korean version which is the same as international version can be flashed through pc via a custom lg flash tool 2014, thread in general section! Check devpt section for other custom roms which u may want to use. There's only minor improvements in custom roms. I prefer lg rom since my phone has cm12 just to not feel bored about vanilla Android.
Most of us here are using the Korean lollipop rom since it was available back in May or else you'll have to keep waiting for an ota to appear.
Excellent price for one. I would buy in a heartbeat at that price.
yes i did, btw i'm very happy about it. Waiting for the lollipop ota

Woah! Windows Phone roms??! That sounds fantastic... But compared to your 4gb device, how will the 2gb one fair? I do basic multitasking, multimedia browsing and my Z1C's 2gb has served me well though...
P.S. My budget doesn't grasp the 4gb model

tbh? I'm sure the 2gb phone will be fine for most anything. I have yet to find any apps that don't work on my ZF2 & most Android apps are NOT going to use 2 gigs of ram.
Don't think you'll have any problem with the 2GB version. Is it the 1.8ghz or the 2.3ghz model? Again, it shouldn't make a huge difference - the two chips have identical architecture, the same base speed and the same gpu. The only difference is the higher spec one can turbo higher in bursts. There are some corners cut to sell a device as cheaply as the Zenfone range, but powerful performance isn't lacking, and though it is a low to mid-range device I believe you get more than you pay for and it punches above it's weight. I came from an iPhone 5 to my Zenfone ZE550ML and I love it.

I understand the ZF2's stance in the high-mid range of the market however I'm concerned whether the ZF2 will be a downgrade from my Z1C... I'm particularly hoping the ZF2 as similarly snappy and capable as my Z1C but with the advantages that come as a phone thats released this year as opposed to the 2013 Z1C.
Also the Z1C has an amazing camera that has served me well. How's the ZF2's camera?
Well, benchmarks suggest the Zenfone 2 has quite a big performance advantage over your Z1C, and most users on here will probably tell you that it is very smooth and snappy to use in real everyday usage too. The camera on the Zenfone has its detractors, but mostly they are comparing it to things like the Galaxy S6 or iPhones. It is not perfect by any means, but a capable camera given the price. All reviews I have read pretty much slate the Z1/Z1C's camera though, so you might find that the Zenfone's is at least on a par.
I have read a bit up on this, but am not 100% sure, so I decided to ask here. My apologies if this has been answered before, I couldn't find it.
I got a Asus ZenFone a few weeks back. As a massive Asus/Intel fanboy, this seemed like the phone for me.
Next to its hardware manufacturers, it had massive specs for a relatively small price. The few cons with it wouldn't really be a problem for me, so I went and looked for it.
Unfortunately, I live in the Netherlands, which means that I cannot get an ASUS ZenFone 2 straight from a store. I asked ASUS, but they informed me that they did not have concrete plans to release the ZenFone 2 in the BeNeLux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, for those unfamiliar with that acronym).
So, then I went and looked on eBay, and found an Italian seller selling a 4GB RAM model for 300 euros including shipping. I went on and purchased, but forgot to look at the Atom model number.
This wasn't the Z3580 2.3GHz model, but the slower Z3560 1.8GHz. I did not know of there being a 4GB RAM version with a slower CPU, and still am not sure about it.
Anyways, I received it after I got it from their English warehouse (why that is, don't know). It had the CN firmware version on it (also not mentioned in the ad), which I had to flash to get the WW version.
I really don't like flashing phones, as I have had a phone die on me while updating it with the official software. Anyways, did that succesfully, and decided to root it while I was at it.
So far, it's been a damned smooth phone, and I have absolutely no gripes with it. But I still am not sure if this actually has 4GB. Android reports it, and AnTuTu does too, but with no programs on, I still can only get 1,5GB RAM available. Is that normal? Does AnTuTu see through fake specs? And if not, what can I do to verify it? Remember, I rooted the phone and thus can use tools to do so that require root. If you guys have any idea, I'd love to hear it! :good:

Yeah, the ZF2 uses a lot of RAM even when idle.
You can download 3c toolbox and look at the memory manager. It will show you the total ram size and what apps are using it currently.
Or you can just look under running apps in your phone settings. For my 2GB model I normally have at most only have 800mb ram available. It's just the way android optimize ram.
Sent from my ASUS_Z008 using Tapatalk
I have the 4GB/1.8GHz model. It's a thing.
Also the stock ROM is kinda bloated so yeah, that's about right for the free RAM.
Thanks! Just wanted to be sure. Even though it uses quite a bit of RAM, I haven't noticed any slowdowns as of yet, still going smooth. Really liking this phone and not minding the slower CPU, this is plenty powerful!
@DaniëlOosterhuis Could you post your battery stats? And comment battery performance in general? Is Android os/system still on the top of the list?
In another battery related topic it was kind of idea that only Z3580 2.3GHz 4GB has that problem. I'm wondering does it make any sense. And if yes, what's the problem, amount of RAM or CPU.
I haven't done serious tests, nor do I often do intensive tasks, I usually pull the phone out of the charger at 6:30(AM), keep it in my pocket and use it for an hour or two/two and a half in total, and put it back on charge between 15:00-17:00 (3-5PM), with the battery still being above half. I do turn the screen down as much as possible though, inside with normal lighting I can survive on lowest brightness fine while retaining functionality. I probably should throw some tests at it, when I get time.

Huh, your phone is charger most of the time. Could you make some tests during weekend? What you can do immediately, post your batter stats. Just to see is it Android os/system still on the top.

afaik the dimensity 9000 edition will stay china exclusive
And an Alibaba China seller tells me the dimensity isn't vivo's priority when it comes to manufacturing the x80 pro. He tells me they're not making them right now and hardly any seller in China has them. All snapdragon. P'd off
Out of curiosity: why do you think the Dimensity is better than the Snapdragon version ?

The dimensity 9000 is better due to its more powerful cpu, more efficient, although, less powerful gpu.
The gpu being more efficient generates less heat, uses less power, so reviewers are seeing better performance than its more powerful snapdragon gpu competitor because the dimensity seems to throttles less
I have the redmi k50 pro dimensity 9000 version, it's really good. It's camera is below standard though

Did you receive your phone, and how is the performance. I dont know why it is not a priority for vivo for dimensity edition.
Even Dimensity 9000 is a step Ahead with bluetooth 5.3 and AV1 codec support. Which google is promoting more to have all videos under this format which is 30% more efficient than HEVC. Which qualcomm is planning to have it in next SD 8Gen2 cpu.

Little update:
Unfortunately, Im still waiting for the phone to derive via tradingshenzhen. I was first one to order the blue dimensity 9000 12/256 GB version, bcs I watched mutliple times in a day if the phone already available to order on their site. 9-10 days after oder and payment they wrote me that blue version is not available anymore by VIVO and I should choose a new color. I answered immediatley to take the orange version, but since then I'm still waiting for a reply by the support.... Such a ****
You won't want to hear that I have my vivo x80 pro dimensity 9000 version then.
Just set up, will see his it goes. Feels lovely so far. Got from my trusted Alibaba sourse. Tells me vivo aren't really making these 9000 versions

Just set up, will see his it goes. Feels lovely so far. Got from my trusted Alibaba sourse. Tells me vivo aren't really making these 9000 versions

Stuff I've seen only compare the x80 dimensity to the x80 pro snapdragon, I can't blame them. It's good enough and it's a pain trying to get hold of the dimensity x80 pro.
Where to buy Global version on AliExpress, is it out yet? Or should I just try Chinese version? Last China ROM phone I had, I sold it because notificaitons did not work (no matter what settings I did)

Such a ****

Hallo, funny, u were on the same path like me, I've had also ordered the blue Dimensity variant of the x80 pro with 256gb... first everything went fine the whole process was completed, they told me the device is ready for shipping and 2 days later they have send me some email that everything was a mistake, there is no blue Dimensity, i should order something else... Hmmm not nice, I felt in love with the light blue, and I don't want an oven for my hands with the snapdragon as well... what to do? The black variant is glas what I like more and the orange looks a little bit more fancy but I'm still not convincet from the material... It would be very helpful if somebody could say something about the differences between the 9000 and the snapdragon...

I chose the orange one now, bcs of the material... I heared the black one is very slippy to hold. Also for me black is such a standard boring color for a phone, so I wanna smthg more fancy... Orange seems to be somehow like a brand mark color for vivo phones (like yellow for poco or red for ferrari), so I chose this : )
Unfortunately Im still waiting... At least they wrote some days ago that "it will be shipped soon".... But I dont understand what the problem and reason for this delay is. The support is also very rude and unfriendly, its crazy! I never saw such kind of unqualified "customer support".
You also ordered on tradingshenzhen ?
