Non-sense rom with decent audio - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The question is all in the thread title: is there a non-sense rom for the one m8 that has decent audio quality? It would be a pity to not being able to exploit the great sounding speakers of this phone (eithr with the boomsound or HK option), but I don't use sense as a home, so sense based roms are a bit clumsy if you don't use their features.
I'm currently running LeeDroid which is a great rom, but somehow I feel like going back to the simple AOSP roms!
Any suggestion?
Thanks

Think your only option would be a GPE ROM. Which, I know, isn't exactly AOSP, but it's the closest thing to perfect audio, AOSP feel.

I had that suspicion, but I wanted some experienced advice, so thanks a lot. I'll give that a try.

Just bought a Desire.

Well, I've just bought a Desire and I don't know where to start with Roms!
First I've been meaning to try out MIUI for agesss! But its never been ported to a device I've had. (Arc + SGS 1).
What are some good roms to try?
Note: I don't like Sense.
Thanks, Ben.
Well there is pretty much only one miui, so try that if you want to.(they are nice but too iphone'ish for me )
Also as you don't want sense, there is the classic(cyanogenmod with plenty of mods) and then we have a more lightweight aosp rom called oxygen, which i prefer myself. Good luck.
I like my eye candy! I'm not a lightweight person! Cyanogen mod might be an option though... I guess the best way is to flash and find out!
I havent been flashing roms for too long myself but ive been through a fair share. Oxygen has defently treated me well. Fast, stable and leaves plenty of room for apps while still looking good. Its the one I kept going back to until I found sense 3 but i know its not for everyone

If that's the case, maybe go with another Sense ROM?
I've been using InsertCoin rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016940
That gives you Gingerbread and various Sense 3.0 goodies
There are also other Sense roms out there... I know of LeeDrOiD, but never used it myself.
Once you're rooted, it's easy to try roms out - flashed cyanogenmod over the weekend, got annoyed at a few things so reverted back to insertCoin

Looking for good non-sense ROM with good sound quality

Hey everybody,
so... I've lost my Cable for ma Zune HD, and haven't got any money atm. to get a new one....
I want/need a Non-Sense ROM with good battery life and good sound-quality (maybe even beats included but not a must-have)
Maybe any audiophiles here who can help me out? I'm using ARHD atm. but I actually want to use a lighter non-sense ROM =).
Thanks in advance!
(Topic already been there? plz send me a link =) )
AOKP has an option to increase audio bitrate and omes pre-loaded with dsp manager. You can install beats separately if you want.
Do you insist on a non-Sense ROM?
I would suggest one (the one I use, see my signature), which is light, smooth, quick, battery friendly, ...
It comes with ZeroInfinity's sound mod, which makes Beats audio really inferior.
But - it's a Sense ROM
You might wish to try it anyway...
Thx you two,
I'm going to try em both =)

[Q] cyanogen mode 11 vs skydragon gpe

Hey guys i wanted to know whic one of these roms offers better experience!
Cause i prefer gpe ui rather than sens and i don't like like pure pure gpe!
So which one whould you choos?
Cyanogen mode11 or skydragon gpe :?
Neither of them offer better performance. These types of thread get closed everyday here on XDA. It all boils down to personal preference. Make a backup and try them out for yourself. Nobody here is you and only you can decide what works best for you.
Should we pick out your next pair of shoes for you? Want me to dress you tomorrow?
I'm sickened by people that can't make an opinion on their own and make posts like this, posts that get locked up quick.

Last I checked all of the GPE ROMs are more stable. AOSP ROMs like CyanogenMod and AOKP, which task650 is working hard to build, require more work to support things like WiFi, Bluetooth, Camera, IR sensor, etc. At the moment the CM11 and AOKP builds for the M8 do not have reliable Camera functionality.
Performance wise? Any AOSP or GPE ROM had felt the same to me. Very fluid performance with no lag to speak of.
Battery life? Haven't used both enough to get a grasp but from I've seen this leans more towards gpe based software.
Stability? Crushing victory for GPE here. Their Roms contain all the proprietary stuff from HTC so naturally just about everything hardware wise is going to function just fine. All this has to be worked on heavily with any AOSP ROM due to having to find ways to get around the closed source drivers.
Customizable? I'll have to give an edge to some of the AOSP based Roms. Some such as Paranoid Android having a seemingly endless amount of options. Even GPE with gravitybox can't compare.
All in all its going to boil down to what you prefer.
SD GPE is best
(c'mon i know thats biased but what do people expect with comparison threads)
reported for slaughter
Thread closed,
Rom comparison threads are against forum rules. Best thing to do is to try them for yourself.
Many thanks,
Ghost

Opinion regarding Skydragon GPE 5.1

I've been pretty disappointed since the Sense stock 5.0.2 update, especially regarding battery and some lag here and there. I also have a problem with the contacts (they don't appear when people call me except if the country prefix in memorized).
I am thinking about trying a custom rom and since seeing the stock android on my mom's Moto G and really like it so from my research it seems skydragon gpe 5.1 is the best one. Anyone that tried it can give me his opinion please?
Cheers
I have tried SkyDragon GPE and I must say it is the most stable and best performing one from all the ones I've tried (and I've tried a lot), so I'd advise you to give it a shot if you're willing to go the custom route. Keep in mind that unlocking your bootloader and such will void your warranty, just in case you're still under it.
Good luck, man, and even though it might not be very smart to do all of that if you're still inexperienced, one lives to learn and you'll not regret using custom ROMs. I've been using them since the One X days and have never looked back.

Thanks a lot for your input. I am tech savvy so I believe I'll be ok
It's stable, that's great, but do we loose any features compared to Sense stock rom? Also, what's the main difference between skydragon gpe and Google stock gpe rom for the HTC One m8?
Cheers

GPE and Sense are two completely different interfaces. For one thing, you won't have BlinkFeed anymore, which is perhaps the most obvious thing about using a Sense ROM. You will still, however, have the Motion Gestures, Dot View app, and a lot of the things that require HTC's framework. I believe the main difference is that SkyDragon GPE is tweaked for better performance and battery life, and is debloated from all the useless system apps and items that Google adds. You can read about the features of SkyDragon GPE and the changelogs in the dedicated thread, it'll give you a much better overview of what it is all about. I would recommend trying SkyDragon first, at least it will be easier than converting your device to GPE for a full, stock GPE experience.
I was using Sense ROMs for many months, and recently decided to try LolliGPE, specially because it allows me to use GPE features plus Sense camera and BlinkFeed. I'm using latest version and it's working flawlessly and yes, it looks beautiful! I know Skydragon GPE is good as well, but I prefer LolliGPE because it has more support in the last months.

Thank you both for the input. I think I will try lolligpe since I like sense camera. How is battery life with that rom?
I'd say battery life is subjective and dependant on your usage as well as overall conditions. Give it a shot for two or three days then judge the battery life for yourself. I believe that there was a way to install Sense camera on any GPE ROM in the Themes & Apps section of the forum but you'd have to search and find that out, just in case you're more inclined to try SkyDragon but still want the Sense camera.

I was inclined to skydragon gpe but the developer says he dosent have the device anymore so I expect development to decrease. I never heard of LOLLIGPE before but from the suggestion it seems to work pretty well, added that sense camera works and all. I recently received an email from HTC Support saying that they will launch an update on the end of November. I was expecting an update in August which could improve the problems I've been having but with htc with so many financial problems it doesn't seem likely. Therefore I am very eager to flash the gpe custom rom. If lolligpe is better than skydragon and everything works as it should, that's my best bet, I believe.
I wholeheartedly agree with you, then. I have not been following SkyDragon lately so I wouldn't know.
Good luck!
I just did some research in the main xda Lolligpe thread and there seems to be many users with bugs and stuff that dosent work properly. That's putting me off a bit...
In much less time than its taken for you to be posting and reading the responses, you could have just flashed the ROM, tried it out, and probably even made your judgement of it.
Just make a nandroid (TWRP backup) before you flash SD, and you can always just revert back to your current setup if you don't like the SD ROM.
And as mentioned, battery life and performance vary greatly from one user to another due to differences in how we use the device, among other variables. The only way to determine how a ROM will perform for you is to try it.
redpoint beat me to it. Stop reading about all the bugs and issues and try it yourself. You seem like you want to experience something different and you could actually develop a passion for doing that, so just go ahead and do it, there's nothing much to lose!

Battery life is good with ElementalX kernel. Don't be afraid about possible bugs, some users have them but depends on many things such as device model or carrier. I'm using an AT&T phone and so far everything is working as it should without any noticeable bug.

[ASK] Audio Quality from Custom ROM

Hello guys, I'm not HTC 10 user at the moment, but I interested to buy this phone
I want to ask about the audio quality of this phone which being said is Hi-Res
Since alot of reviews said that this phone audio quality is superb and I assume it on Stock ROM, will it still the same if we install another Custom ROM either based on AOSP,LOS,etc ?
I used Xiaomi Mi5, and the audio quality is..well I could say good, but once I flash Custom ROM, it getting worse, so much bass gained from Custom ROM
I just disappointed since I think there is no fix for this, all Custom ROM gives same results
So is HTC 10 Custom ROM give the same audio quality as Stock ?
Thanks in advance

Close enough that i don't run sense based ROM s on this device a anymore, except every now and again. CAF AOSP A has come along way since this phones release
