no H+, H, E or anything showing when data is on - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Data works fine, there's internet connection available but there's just no icon showing the status of my data connection, is there a fix for this ? I have the h815 on V10e-eur

Is your phone rooted?
Did you install a firewall like avast?
I use the avast firewall in whitelist mode and had the same problem.
I had to allow a group of apps at the end of the apps list to make it work again.

yes it's rooted and no there's no firewall

ok.
so I guess it worked some time ago, but then stopped working suddenly?
You can try a system reset, but you will loose your data and settings, so backup everything.
An other mehtod could be to flash a kdz to unroot your phone and try if it works again.
Or did you install an adblocker? I am using adaway, but have no problems with the icon.

I did all the things you mentioned, it didn't work since I bought the phone 4 days ago, I rooted and installed twrp, then flashed another kdz with latest version and still the same problem, no adblocker nothing, it didn't work with a fresh updated kdz

If you say that it didn't work right after you bought it, I would not have rooted the phone, but give it back and get another one.
Can you try a different SIM card from a different provider?

This happened to me after I left an area with no signal. I rebooted and not had the problem since for 2 weeks I'd guess.

tried another sim from another provider and it works fine and the data icon shows , thanks for your help the issue if not from the phone it's from my sim

Ok, good.
So you know your phone is not the problem.
But it's strange that your SIM card seems to be the problem...
Maybe you should ask your provider about this problem or try your SIM in a different phone.

[Q] Baseband version becomes unknown after restart

I'm using Droid Incredible 2 and facing a strange problem that I need help
My phone is using GSM network and rom Cyanogenmod 7 stable version
The phone works without problem until I restart the phone, the Baseband version becomes unknown and the notification shows the message "No service" so I don't have any mobile network
I tried to reflash the ROM and the problem seemed disappear. But when I perform a restart, I experience the same problem again
Is there anyone know how to solve this problem?

I would ask in the rom specific thread. You're more likely to get someone with experience with that rom to answer.

He can't post there most likely since he has only 2 posts. I had an issue with Viper like this but thought it was related to Hurricane Sandy....
One morning I grab my phone off the usb (computer) and it says Vodafone instead of VZW on the lock screen. Hmmm. Reboot and nothing changes. Can't send of receive texts or connect to 3g but phone works. I tried pulling battery, sim card....to no avail. As a last resort I wiped data and it has worked since with no issue although that forced me to re-install all my apps.
Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for your suggest. I wiped data and my phone works too. But I wonder what is the root cause of this issue? A problem of custom rom ???

[Q] No Service. Data working but no Call/Text.

Hello!
I have m919 T-Mobile Galaxy s4 but I'm with other carrier (Wind Canada). I rooted the phone about a month ago, I believe, using THIS guide.
I spent yesterday in environment where I didn't had coverage for most of the day, but i haven't gotten it back yet. Sounds really weird as it might be not connected to the fact at all. I have 4G connection active, which means that I have internet, but it keeps 'searching' for service and I can't Call/Text anyone, neither I can receive calls or texts. Instead of the bar at the top showing how good coverage i have it just shows a crossed out circle icon.
I've tried reboots, keeping my phone off for 30mins without battery, taking out sim and putting it back in, changing network modes and resetting APN (all from settings panel).
Have anyone experienced something like that and how do I fix it? It was working perfectly for last couple of months and the phone didn't get any damage yesterday neither.
P.S Did the the regular factory reset (don't know if it affects rooting) but it didn't change anything. =
I have same problem.
Did you solve it? and how?
Haven't solved it, that was the whole point of my post!

Never had this happen to me. Data works off your signal, something is wickedly wrong. I'd flash the modem again if you are on 4.2.2 bootloader (doesn't matter which rom or android version). If that fails, go intonrecovery, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, and wipe data. If that fails, backup your data and Odin flash back to 100% stock. If that fails, more than likely your /efs folder was corrupted.

Ok, so I got heimdall, and got the recovery.img from the other topic. I followed the steps that was provided in the second link, but nothing much changed, it successfully uploaded the recovery.img, then i did recovery boot with power button + home button + volume up, it did some things with a pirate android guy in the back and thats it, booted up. Not sure if I have everything back to stock or not - either way, the issue with the network hasn't been resolved!

Tried this?
go to settings/more networks/Mobile networks/Network operators/Search now......
It might take a minute or two, then show you some networks it finds. Select your provider and it should list some options for you.
need to see Mobile data with a check, Data roaming checked, network mode should be LTE/GSM/WCDMA(auto connect)
If you KNOW what your APN (access Point Name) is you can check if it's correctly there.
It usually is downloaded with the search for network so just try with whatever is ther for now.
Back all the way out, and power off. Take out the battery, wait like 30 seconds, replace the battery and power on again.
See if you get service and can dial out.
Aloha and Good Luck!

Ok, now you might want to call your provider and ask them to remove you from their network and reinsert you again. That procedure will often re-enable normal operation of cellular connectivity.
They will ask you to power down and remove your battery for about a minute, then power up again.
Aloha and Good Luck!
Tried it all
Well im in the same boat here.
I checked the IMEI is correct
i did a full stock MK5 install with Odin without sim inserted and with
*#2263# helps it recognizes the network on the search list (WIND)
but it wont connect (failed to connect try again)
sometimes it connects to 4G and i can use the web
but no calls or sms
i noticed i dont have LTE enabled which ill do tomorrow
i even opened my phone to check that no cables came off as it was in service for a broken screen
tried a different sim from koodo wich also acts weird it connects to data but wont make phone calls or sms
the problems began after its been UNLOCKED (sim free)
any suggestions? im willing to try anything
its been in service 4 times and still they cant figure it out...
thanks!

[Q] (RESOLVED) Slow 3G since installing Cyanogenmod

Hello,
I've just got a Nexus from my father.
Unlock and rooting are OK.
I've made a backup of my stock rom
Then I've installed a cynogenmod 4.4 and see that my 3G download speed is very slow (arround 5Ko/s)
Then I've returned back to my stock rom -> same issue.
I'm in France using Free Mobile (which is using roaming)
Please help me!
EDIT: RESOLVED
I've tryed a new SIM Card and the speed is OK.
Next I used my old sim card, the speed is OK too.
Strange...
I really need help because I am unable to get a good 3G connection.
Have reinstalled the last radio -> nothing
Have reconfigured APN -> nothing better
Really need help, take 1h to dl 20Mo
EDIt: The signal is full
Someone could help me ?
I've found that the issue happens only when I'm in roaming.
If I am connected directly to my provider antenna, no issue.

Its probably just an issue with your operator, the ROM most likely doesn't have to do anything with it, especially as you said if you flashed the stock radio.

Have u rooted. Flashed a rom? Is it network unlocked if not on orig device carrier? And if just pirchased are u sure its not black listed?
it is not black listed.
It all began when it started on all the time.
Now it has not started on all the time at 24 hours now.
And I flashed a ROM.
After that, you will not signal more than a few seconds, then you can not register on the network.
Have tried with APN that I know works, but not on this phone can only use wifi.Jag checked with the operator and they have no problems.
Have tried with different SIM cards without result.
my simcard worked with the phone before it started on all the time and I installed a ROM tried olkia rum with the same result.

May have flashed a rom with a incompatible modem. Try using flashtool lgup and going back 100% stock. But be sure to make sure ure not downgrading to a incompatible version or brick could result. Find out what version qfuse ure bootloader is and find stock rom to match.

Question Not able to call and not receiving calls

My POCO F3 8GB/256GB suddenly not letting me call anyone (Says mobile network not available) or pick up any calls but mobile network and texting is working completely fine. I've rebooted the phone multiple times, disabled volte, reinstalled google carrier services and still nothing so I had no choice but to factory reset the phone but that didn't work too. Currently using MIUI 13.0.9 and hoping there's a way to fix this asap.

Use miui flash tool to reset your phone to he miui version it came from. If it does ot work then, it's a hardware problem.

I'll try doing the MIUI Flash method. I hope it's not a hardware problem because everything was working fine and I only realised few days ago it started to not work
Check with other sim. If problem remains check different network modes 2G/3G/LTE.

So I've tried using 2 different sim cards (One of them being the same carrier as the sim that's not letting me make or receive calls on the F3) and so far those sims are working fine with the phone . Also tried putting the not "working" sim on other devices and it seems to work fine so I'm not really sure what's the problem here. As soon as I put the sim card back on the F3 it works for a moment then completely stops letting me call and receive calls.
Try changing network modes.

That method also didn't work
did you try downgrading to 13.0.8.0 fw? could be a defective modem driver
Try manual network selection. If fails probably hardware.

I'm getting Location unavailable too on Firmware 13.0.9, revert back to Firmware 13.0.8, and the location is okay again. Maybe you can revert to Firmware 13.0.8, don't think too far first.
Try to enable volte and vowifi. I had the same problem to my device and it is working
