[Issue]Flip phone to silence not working H818N - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
i have a H818N G4 variant - v10c firmware
i have checked in Settings/Call/Common - Silence incoming calls
but it's not working ...
This is common issue or only in my phone ?

PS. Now I noticed that only works if i flip phone down and proximity sensor is activated.
So that this work is necessary to have two conditions:
1. flip phone with face down
2. proximity sensor covered
It;s not like other phones (samsung - wich i haved before) where is necesary only to flip phone to silence.

[Q] ( My HTC desire 816 dosn't ring while Proximity sensor is covered

This problem is driving my nuts I'm searching for a solution weeks ago and still couldn't find an answer.
my problem is when the proximity sensor is covered the phone only vibrate and no ringtone.
i discovered this by receiving calls while the phone in pocket and couldn't hear any ring.
i tried to calibrate the sensors and tried to tick and un tick the pocket mode option nothing worked.
All i figured out is i think when this sensor is covered it trigger somehow the flip to mute option ( maybe)
but any way the sensor is working probably as it turn off when in call face near and turn back on when far.
please guys any one can help me solve this misery ?

The problem is that your bottom speaker is not working. When the phone is in your pocket (proximity sensor is covered) only the bottom speaker is ringing. When proximity sensor is not covered both of the speakers is ringing. You need to pop out the back cover as in the picture and make an direct contact from the speaker to the mainboard.
Try taking the phone out of its case. Worked for us .

Hi, ggaby1981
I know that you wrote this a while back, but I wanted to ask you how to actually do this. I'm not sure what you mean by making a direct contact. I've looked for tutorials, but couldn't find anything . Does it need souldering, or can anyone do it? Please, let me know. Thank you so much!
Engineer
Replacing spoiled battery solved the issue, battery size increased and pressed the cover taking away the connectors of bottom speaker, making it perminantly off.
Replacig battery allows back cover to be seated properly, and get the speaker connect.
It is functioning ok again.

Can I Fake LG G3 Incoming Sensors Data ?

Can I fake LG G3 incoming sensors data ?
Hello everyone! I am having some trouble with LG G3 sensors...
Context :
Most of my LG G3 sensors are broken following a water damage.
The main problem is the broken auto-rotation sensor that prevent me of taking photos in landscape mode.
I known some applications (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.crape.rotationcontrol) allow to manually set phone rotation to landscape but it is not what I am searching because it not working on the stock Camera application (witch use auto-rotation sensor to define the orientation of the phone).
Question :
Is that possible to fake data incoming from the auto-rotation sensor to make the phone think it is held horizontally ?
My phone is rooted, is that possible using a Terminal an application or anything else ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Screen does not turn on while charging on making a call

Hi,
I have a strange problem. My LG-G3 (D855) screen, running on Android 6.0, does not turn on during a call.
It is working fine otherwise.
I entered the secret menu, and applied the proximity / ALC under HW test. Apparently, the sensor is locked to "NEAR" state.
How do I recalibrate it? Is it a Marshamllow issue? Is there any volunteer who can test this setting on his/her device?
There has been a few people with this issue that ive seen common fix is clean the prox sensor. Some screen protectoers interfere

Redmi note 5 ai global version proximity sensor issue

Hi everyone, I have issue with proximity sensor, when the autobrightbess is off during incoming or outgoing call, the display turns off with delay (after 3 seconds i put the phone on ear), if i turn on autobrightness proximity sensor works properly and display turns off immediately, tried to calibrate in hw test and in other programms from play market, no result. Does anyone face such issue. Can i fix it or thi is hardware problem.
No such issue here, try factory reset or update if you are not in latest firmware

Question Does AOD turn off with proximity sensor? (MIUI / Custom)

I really wanna buy this phone but I wanna be sure of 2 things before I do.
Does the AOD turn off with a flip / wallet cover in stock and/or custom ROM's and how bad is the proximity sensor issue during calls I keep reading about?
Prox.sensor lives his live during calls. Flip cover locking apps same. I got angry about it when bought poco f3
In India this device is sold as Mi 11x. I have been using this device for the last 2 months. AOD does not work during calls and does not switch off with flip covers. Proximity sensor is the real pain in the arse on this device. Flip cover provides a cosmetic solution only against accidental button press during calls. Most annoying situation is when u need to hang up the phone and the screen refuses to turn on so that u can press the hang up button.
