Hello, i have a sony xperia S, i rooted it before using the king root (with pc) and then installed a lollipop mod, after installing the mod (which was a beta version) i couldn't format the phone ( and some other minor issues ) and the root was gone , so when i tried to root it again using king root it didn't work, i tried many other methods too (with and without pc) but all failed to root .. they recognize the phone as xperia S when im about to root and tell me that the strategy available to root but all fail at the end.. is there a way to root my phone with this lollipop mod ?
Thanks
the same problem here
I have the same problem, I am so regretful to install lollipop, i have been imprisoned, i cant flash, i cant get into recovery mode, the blue notification light doesnt turn on; i cant bootloader again. I am really sorry. If you can help, I will be really grateful.
I guess the best thing to do is to send it to a repairing shop, because i was hopeless and tried many stupid stuff and ended up with breaking the phone completely, and now to repair it i need more than the phone's price, so go to unofficial repairing shop ( since Sony won't do anything after knowing you unlocked the bootloader) and ask him to fix it.. Just make sure to make him guarantee you that he will fix it to you and if he wrecks it, its his problem. It shouldn't cost you more than 10-15$.

I've been at this literally all night, and I've given up on rooting my phone without asking for help. I've been scouring the forums, this and others for answers, but still haven't been able to root my phone. It's an At&t Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, or R800at. I believe I have the latest factory OS as I have checked for updates via Sony PC Companion and there are none, that and this was a recent new phone purchase. I have tried superoneclick and have gotten to step 7 where it freezes, and I have tried doomlord's v4 root kit and it repeatedly says that the file pathways do not exist before failing and rebooting my phone. I have obtained an unlock code from sony and the imei number but am unable to get to the fastboot mode, as holding down the search button only yeilds a green light, indicating flash mode. I have debug mode activated, have tried both media transfer mode and mass storage mode, have up to date working drivers, and have downloaded android sdk, though I am unsure what to do with it; I tried using a driver within that folder instead of the ones I have but that didn't seem to help. I am at a loss, help would be appreciated, and as I said I have already thoroughly searched the forums so like the n00b video says I'm just special like that

I followed that thread particularly the root link at the first post but I still cannot root my phone. To clarify, are you suggesting I reply under that thread instead of using this one?
i used to have the same problem, what i did is downgrade the firmware to
3.0.1.B.0.270 and using flashtool i flashed that firmware, when the phone was up again, it was rooted i spend like 15 minutes doing it so
I was planning on trying to flash then root next, but wanted to save that as a last resort mostly for fear of loosing contacts data, the rest can go however (the whole point of rooting is to gain internal memory in the first place).
i dont think theres a way of rooting using the 285 firmware, the only is unlocking but if you want it just for that you better use the flashin form, contacts if they are in the google address then you will get them back, and with the new store you can download really quick the apps you just downloaded
The downgrade enabled me to root the device, and like you said there was no loss of contacts. The only downside is that I can't update to current firmware without loosing root access. Small price to pay, thanks for the tip!
Hello people,
I am a newbie here, and I would like to root my Sony xperia T build 9.1.A,1,140
I have tried bin4try rooting system and it all went through fine, but after starting the phone I downloaded rooting checker and it said that my device was not rooted. This was also confirmed when trying to use lucky patcher. I did have however the SuperSU app installed.
Then I withrew that root just in case from the removal option, and tried to do it through the DoomLord method. Whilst installing it said that my device was not supported. Since then I have been reading and trying to figure out how to upgrade my build version to 141 in order to root it through DoomLord method, and I have the boot.img from the stock .141 kernel. I am just a bit confused and don't know how to play it safer.
Also, I have tried installing the CWM but since I don't have a rooted phone it didnt let me install. I now have a stock Xperia T with android JB 4.1.2 build 9.1.A.1.140 and would really like your help to see what I can do.
I will now head to bed, as my brain hurts from so much information, I hope to get this sorted soon.
Thanks a lot to you all for your time and effort!
Sincerely,
Jose
UPDATE
I forgot to mention that I tried to install CWM but it didn't let me because the phone was not rooted. Also there is apparently no way to unlock my bootloader.
This morning I donwloaded the 141 tft file, a polish version, and decided to flash it into my phone. After flashing and starting the phone, the sony wave colour thing did several loops for about a minute or two. The the phone started as usual and everything works fine except for internet data.
AT THIS POINT
I do not know where to proceed, I go in mind to now try rooting my phone through Doom's method but I am afraid that maybe I can screw it up more or root it but still have no mobile data which would be almost useless to me.
Please I would really appreciate the help of anyone.
THANKS!

from what i understand you can't flash a custom kernel unless ur bootloader is unlocked!! You may have to flash an appropriate firmware with flashtool that is rootable and then try to protect root and then try a fota but don't use seus or pc companion!! Someone correct me if i'm wrong!!
Please i need your help, i wanted to root my xperia z1 compact (Easy Root Tool for various Xperia devices) but when I finished all the steps (i got an error while wiping System) the phone didn’t start. and it keeps rebooting.
I don’t know what to do, please help me to solve this problem.
thanks a lot.
What fw version do you have? If keepsbrebooting you can use red button near Sim card to turn it off. By the way you dont need to wipe anything while rooting your phone flash stock fw 108 than use towelroot or newroot it takes 1 minute to root phone. If you have 157fw there are tutorials in z1c section excacly explaining how to root the latest firmware
Hi, I got the lg g4 H-815 , android version 5.1 and v10c software. I want to root the phone because i want to flash roms and kernels to get a better performance.
, but im confused will all the guides, therefore i got some questions i would really appriciate if someone answers them.
1. Do i have to unlock bootloader in order to gain root access and flash roms etc?
2. What is the most easiest and reliable guide to root the phone?
Sorry for my English.
Root is not needed for flashing ROMs, what is needed is TWRP and unlocked bootloader, when the bootloader is locked it means that it will not boot up if it detects that you flashed 'stuff' unsigned by LG - custom ROMs! Anyway if you only want to root it and you don't mind of MM, you can root it on LP without unlocking the bootloader. Although, if I was on your place I would hold on a minute and checked my serial number first because it is more likely that your phone can die at any minute, independently of what you are actually doing on your phone... G4 is a ticking bomb, when mine fell into a bootloop (it's not like a bootloop when you flash something wrong, the phone is like dead ), since I have unlocked my bootloader LG refused to repair it so many times... They just gave my number to SBE and said that they will repair my phone if I pay, guess what, these idiots refused as well. About 3 times tho. So I was on my own, after a month I managed to make my phone work(ish). I'm not saying I fixed it because this is unfixable. I just made it work. Not fully functional tho, at least it will last I'll buy a new phone, and no more LG for me. And I would recommend you to have a think about doing this stuff. If you have warranty they will replace it immediately, but if not you'll need to fight them up, as I am going to. PSST, you can still root it on LP without losing the warranty, remember!!
My sister has pretty uncommon G4s variant known as H736. It comes preinstalled with Marshmallow.
She asked me to root it, so she could move apps to SD card. I never rooted any LG, but I tried.
First, I checked for bootloader unlock on LG website. If it would give me fastboot code, that would be 5 minutes of work. But it's unsupported... So I need to work with locked bootloader.
Second, I looked around XDA and found root method for H735 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4s-world-root-lg-devices-t3231759). Because it's almost identical with H736, I tried it. But it didn't work - I did read that it's only compatible with Android 5.1.1 and is broken after upgrade to 6. But H736 comes with 6 preinstalled so... I'm just afraid of installing software from one phone onto another.
Third thing I tried - low effort root (https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4...t-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765). After reflashing rooted system, phone was stuck on LG logo and red LED turned on. Nothing happened in few hours, so I reflashed original system.
I also tried flashing Magisk-patched boot, but it ended the same way.
So is there any way to root this phone? Maybe some exploit, or some way to workaround my issues with low effort root? I don't want to mess with King/Kingo thingies, cause it's known to steal things like IMEI...
