I'm looking for some help with restoring my LG Gpad GPE v510 using a .tot
When I click the yellow arrow in the LGFlashTool I get the following error message
"Download user image is only available in the online environment!!
TOT VER:
LGV510-00-V1D-NA-XX-NOV-15-2013-KRT160.L004-USER-16G+0
IMG TYPE: FOR_USER"
I have followed these instructions (and several others on xda) exactly http://www.lg-phones.org/stock-lg-g-pad-8-3-v510-rom-firmware.html
I'm hoping some one has run into this sort of thing before Any help would be very very appreciated.

Same error here.
I looked into this even further and was basically told that LG had made a change to their server which prevents downloading the most current .tot files. I have no way to personally verify that but the point is I never did go find a way to get it working. I'm just surprised that some folks are comfortable with modifying device without the ability to restore a device to complete factory. Nandroid backups are nice but they are not the same as having ability to restore complete factory image.
Not a criticism just not comfortable with modding without it. I do hope someone discovers a way to flash the .tot successfully.

Thanx, that solved my entire problem... Now that I know that there are no ROMs for this v510 variant, I'm a little disappointed.... But, oh well...
Hello, I went into retard mode and tried to flash TWRP using CloudyFa's app that is designed for the G2 (experimentation is dangerous ). Basicly his app wrote over the Bootloader, Baseband and recovery partition. So is there any way to manually flash the LG G3 partitions back onto the device? It wont charge (visibly), wont boot, wont go into download mode and wont go into recovery. It's pretty dead. Anyone who can, please help! Thanks!
EDIT: Issue sorted. New G3 inbound!

Thank you sir! I just thought to myself before I did it "Oh, what if the file system and partition layouts are similar on the G2 to the G3, may aswell flash some G2 stuff and see what happens!" xD Still, things like that need lokified and ported to run on the G3. When and IF I get a new G3 (A few days hopefully) Ill have a look at actual development as i'd love to get a working build of CWM ported over. But that is probably unlikely as I dont have a huge knowledge in Android. I've ported plenty of roms, eg: Chasmodo's Asylum from the N7000 to run on the Nexus 5 (It worked ) But I've no experience in tinkering with recoveries!
@Fauert @ant78 They are sending out a new G3, it will be here on Wednesday! Once again fantastic customer service from Three! :victory:

You clicked download instead of download now. If you extract the ZIP and you only see a single exe called LG G4 Root or similar, DO NOT INSTALL! This is adware/malware. Click on the other download link, and when you extract it you should see 6-8 files with the needed Send_Command and adb files.
Oh yeah, FYI through* if you want to edit the title lol

Hey guys,
So I attempted to root my G4 with the H811 firmware from T-Mobile in the States... Obviously now, I cannot boot into recovery (as far as I know) and only have access to Download Mode. I can, however, use the send_command to connect to the phone (Only in Download Mode).
However, I cannot access the storage device to upload the Rogers "rooted" img file. Using the information found here. Is there anything I can do right now? Seeing as this phone is literally my home phone and internet, nobody can get a hold of me.
I need to find a fix for this as soon as possible!
Thank you very much for reading.
EDIT: Just so everyone knows, I cannot use ADB because my system does not boot.
EDIT 2: http://i.imgur.com/nxNpzqt.png - Looks to be bricked entirely, unless this can be fixed?
EDIT 3: The phone as been sent away for repairs; warranty replacement inbound.
There is rooted Rogers firmware in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3135162
K get stock or rooted Rogers system img and try comands from and see if you can push it to phone and and install it

*** The issue is resolved!!! Thanks to xda, the solution is provided in the link in the comments.***
Couple of days ago I got this OTA notification that Android 7.1 preview is available for update. As my phone is rooted I started the manual update procedure. After the flashing was finished, I restarted the phone and then I saw it was stuck at the Google screen. Just stuck, no response. Seemed unusual to me.
Let me tell you that I have been modding my Nexus 5 for about two years. I am familiar with most of the tweaks that can be done to a Nexus device. Nexus 5 served me amazingly. I bought Nexus 5x 3 months ago.
So, after it was stuck I restarted. Still stuck. I will tell you step by step what I did then:
1. Flashed the OS 7.1 again (I dunno why, the flash.all script doesn't work for me, so I always do that manually) - result is the same.
2. Last October update (NBD90W) was available in the folder so I flashed that - same result.
3. I downloaded the previous one (NRD90S) and flashed that - same result.
4. I locked the phone and unlocked again to erase everything (not sure if that's a good idea), then flashed the OS again - same result.
5. Then I tried LGUP and the tot files to give it the factory version. LGUP detects the phone, started installing. When the installation is finished and the phone restarted - same result.
6. Now that I gave it the factory version the phone got locked!
7. I searched google for hours but couldn't find a way to unlock it as the OS is not booting and I cannot turn USB debugging on!
8. Then I tried the default recovery mode (Android recovery, from the recovery screen Power + volume up) as it doesn't require unlocking the device. Wiped the cache and restarted - same result.
9. My phone is detected by the pc and ADB. So, I wiped everything and tried ADB sideload and get this error E: footer is wrong
10. I tried Nexus root toolkit. It detects the phone in fastboot mode, then restarts it and then it again is stuck on the Google screen.
I am extremely depressed!
I am from Bangladesh and there is no authorized LG servicing center here. So, I can't ask for their help.
All that I did over the past two years was the awesome threads of xdadevelopers. So, a big thumbs up for you guys . :good:
I learnt from the web that phone can be hard bricked if a wrong bootloader is flashed. That's impossible for me as I always remove the factory image extracted files after flashing is done from the ADB>platform-tools folder.
Now, is the phone hard-bricked? If it is, what to do with it? Will replacing the motherboard get my phone back? Any kind of suggestion will be very much appreciated.

Well, I don't get bootloops, my phone is just stuck at the Google screen and I can enter recovery mode (lying Android with red exclamation mark), from there I can enter Android recovery mode, where ADB sideload is available.

Please say something about replacing the motherboard. It's very very pricey, so I want to be sure -_-
sounds like its hardware problem, contact seller to replace it. if not going to happen, then buy a new phone from a company that does have a dealer in your country to warrant. aside of camera, the specs of other phones at this price range are better
That thought is also roaming around my head, still Nexus is Nexus!
What's the price going for the 5X over there? It's as low as $280 here in the US which is easy better then it's original.

Try the tutorial here. It's little bit different from the original thread ,
as @bardhi92 said, THE MAIN DIFFERENCE HERE IS THAT AFTER I FLASHED THE .TOT FILE, I BOOTED MY PHONE INTO BOOTLOADER AND DID AN ADB SIDELOAD OF THIS OTA.ZIP
Well, for my case, eventually I successfully bring my N5X alive. The tricky part is to enter Android System Recovery (hold Power + Volume Up) after flashing TOT.

A warranty is a warranty, it doesn't matter what country you're in or where the repair place is. People in Canada send stuff to the USA for warranty issues all the time. I'd get on the phone with LG until I heard what I wanted, but I'm a stubborn old goat lol.
