What's the best launcher for the LG G3 D852?
On my previous Nexus 4, I used AWS and I liked it. I'm assuming LG is :TouchWiz? Is that the best? Least resource intensive?
I use Nova Launcher Prime, on every phone I use. I don't lice how Optimus UI looks

I tested up to 6 launchers for speed/features/cost.
Nova Launcher Prime takes the cake on all of them.
I would say l launcher prime. Supports double tap to sleep which I love on launcher. Still use stock launcher though

Thanks for the suggestion. Upon looking through my apps on the Play Store I realized I purchased Prime a long time ago. So that's what I'm using now.
Now just to figure out the best SMS app for this phone. I used to use Handcent on my Nexus, but for some reason it lags on this G3. Really odd.
messenger by google. set as default in settings
Another vote for Nova launcher, it's definitely best overall
I'm using Textra SMS app, it's highly customizable.

I'm trying that now, but it seems to lag. I'm don't know if it's the app itself, or the Kaspersky Security app that's installed.

Thanks for the suggestion. Textra works perfectly, and doesn't lag on the device.
Now all I need is an update from 5.0.1 and I'd be a happy camper.

Hi,
I installed go launcher on my s3.
my priblem is that whenever i call, i get a weird screen without any options and after a few second i press the buttons and i goes to stock.
How can i change the in call menu and apperience?
If it matters, i use omega 13.
thanks.
Hey. Try not using Go Launcher, (Personal View) i think it is one of the worst launcher out there esp for such a good phone.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
why?
and which one do u have?
BUMP...
fyi, i hav been using Go launcher for months on my stock S3 smoothly, enjoying a few free themes on it.
Use application apex launcher pro. It is awesome.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
any comparison between the 2?
Apex is faster and you can set behaviors setting
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Sorry to differ! But go launcher is one of the best launcher in the market now. And Go can also do behaviour setting. TBH, apex doesn't even comes close to go launchers customizability.
Apex is a light launcher so it is fast, but the pro version costs money! lol. But Go got more themes, more settings to tweak. And I run it super smooth. Oh and it is free!!

I also prefer Go Launcher, the redraw issue is a pain, but that's the same with all the launchers on Stock ICS
GO
I have full version of Apex, Nova and inspite of that I prefer the GO. I think its the best. Never had any problems with it. The gesture options are most with this.
I was looking around and I found nova and go launcher, I want to know if there are any other good ones

personally i like go launcher ex,launcher pro, and adw launcher. just try it
i use apex launcher. based off jelly bean. really light weight. tons of customization. nova launcher is similar and works great as well.
Apex to the top

It really depends on your preferences, I find stock the smoothest but Nova the most customisable.
Are there any launcher similar to go launcher's folder option within the drawer? That's something that I really like and have only found on go launcher.

Nova launcher with Nova prime has something similar.

I looked at it, the prime version has it. Thanks

what about Chameloen?
Personally I don't like Chameleon, you can't add app short cuts on the home screen, widgets are limited and you can't create folders. Granted you can create your own widgets using HTML 5, however this doesn't solve the problem to people who don't know HTML 5. Neither can you use normal widgets as you would on a normal launcher. I suspect there will be more widgets in the future, but for 10usd it isn't worth it.
So Launcher 8 when it come.
Smexi-Nexi
I tried apex but it was way to complicated.

Well I started out using Nova, then I went to Apex and now I am using Holo Launcher + which is much faster that the two previous launchers.
Holo was to dull to me

Dull? There are several options to personalize it..
Spb shell. Great launcher. Nova my second choice.,

Holo is a bit dull but Holo HD is on par with Apex/Nova but is much faster with less scrolling glitches. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobint.hololauncher.hd
The HD version is made for JellyBean whereas the regular version is for ICS and lower.
I've been using nova prime and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm bummed that go launcher doesn't work well on the nexus 7. Hopefully they'll figure it out.

because its phone based. go launcher hd, if you search itll say for tablet.
I tried go launcher HD and didn't dig the setup. I really like the phablet desktop, if I was using a larger tablet I think it would be perfect.

+1 on Next Launcher. I am a fan. Bought it the day it was released. I do keep Nova and switch to it once in a while to see what's new, but I prefer Next.
PS. Where is the poll?
I'm split between the AT4 and the Mark19. I guess it all depends on what I am trying to do with the launcher.

Nova Launcher went to it after using Launcher Pro for years

Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
I'm fine with stock launcher too
I used Nova forever until I started noticing a home button lag. I can't remember if this was on stock lg roms, but I know for sure it happens I aosp roms...at least on my device. Apex didn't have the home button lag and my device feels snappier. So I've been running Apex for a couple if months.

Long time nova launcher user but the stock launcher has grown on me.
KK Launcher was really good but I always comeback to LGHome as its the only one that allows custom app arrangement in app drawer. Also its not so bad unlike ie Touchwiz. LGHome allows changing of themes and icons, so I'm am satisfied.
Nova prime for years now
Sent from my LG-LS980 using xda app-developers app
What Launcher are you guys using? I personally use Nova, paired with the G3 stock ui is a pretty sweet combination and improves performance.
Apex, pretty much the same
Nova all the way.
But I'm wondering how Nokia's zLauncher is. And/Or will the 18k plus laying off of jobs by Microsoft will affect zLauncher?
I use Nova too but original LG widgets are unable to load on Nova. Anyway workarounds?
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app
I'm using LG Home for the LG widgets. I really like their calendar widget. I wish the left panel was a bit more useful, though. I'll probably eventually switch back to Nova.

Tried both LG launcher and Nova Prime. Nova is significantly snappier than the LG launcher so I went that route.
Blinkfeed ☺ just seems right on a LG screen

I usually always use Nova, but since day one I've used LG. Sure I'll end up using Nova but once you go there....your there! I'm trying to hold out and give stock a chance. Makes my phone still feel new instead of the same themes I've used on my S5, on my Note3 on my Nexus, Etc etc etc.......
I'm still optimistic about getting my LG Smart World themes to work.
I wonder if I can port Touchwiz Themes from my S5?????
Has anyone had success getting knock off to work on nova launcher?

The way I have it now is;
Download: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock
Then set double tap in Gestures (Nova Settings) to launch Screen Off. Works perfect, however I would love to find a solution without the use of a third party screen off app.
Thanks, that works great!

I'm using the G3 TweaksBox exposed module and there is an option for a double tap of the notification bar to turn the screen off. It doesn't work on the whole screen, but just the notification bar, so you have to have good aim. Lol. But it does work well.
Nova is working flawless for me

Same here been using apex pro for a few years, it just works for what I need and I'm too lazy to change and setup nova even tho I got nova prime for 10p on the play store's app deal of the week a bit back.
Apex when I feel like it. I don't mind the LG Home.
Smart Launcher Pro
Holo Launcher since many years on 3 different smartphones, also on the LG G3
Thanks guys
I switch between total launcher, lucid launcher and Nova prime
