Qualcomm Quick Charge 5 port - Nexus 7 (2013) Accessories

Hi,
Need a bit of assistance, I am thinking of buying one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Qualcomm-Certified-Tronsmart®-Motorola-Included/dp/B00ZHXVITC for my car, but I want to know if it will work with a regular car charger?
Many thanks

Reliable in car charging

Hi folks, stupid question time.
Can anyone put me onto a decent in car charger that will last more than 20 mins in regular usage? preferably one that has a longish straight lead, as it is to be used in a peugeot where the power socket is miles from the xda holder.
Could there be a hardwiring solution?
Apologies for the muppet questions but I am new to these fella's, my old trusty nokia having just expired from old age, lol.
best regards
well, u could just buy a in car charger from eBay or somewhere, and cut the old wire off and replace it with something suitable
WARNING: Do NOT have the phone plugged in while starting the car!!! you will blow the USB board, which means that you wont be able to use USB to transfer files, or use ActivSync!!!
Hmmmm, was hoping for something commercial as it will be used in a taxi by many different hands but i suppose the heath robinson method is worth a try.
Thanks for taking the time to reply to a really stupid question. Hehe now I know I can ask many more........
Its not a stupid question at all!
I would use a standard mini usb charger but don't for rear of forgetting to disconnect before starting the engine.
So, I get about four hours of nav from one battery.
There must be a better solution?

Using Tilt 2 Wall charger for Ipod touch 3G?

Hello everyone,
Is it okay to use my Tilt 2 wall charger for my Ipod Touch 3G? I tried it out this morning and seemed to work fine, but I need to make sure that the Input voltage and amps for the Touch3G is okay with the Output of 5V--1A of my Tilt2 wall charger. If anyone knows the battery specs of their Ipod Touch3G, please tell! I tried searching for it but I guess I didn't search hard enough. Or, if anyone has had experience with this. Thanks in advance everyone!
Regards,
K
I always charge my iPod Touch 2G using HTC chargers. No ill effects...

Hm, I dont think you understood the question. The Tilt2 wall charger has a specific output Voltage and Current. The Touch3G has a specific input on its battery. The input has to be okay with what the Tilt2 charger outputs or else it can result in unnecessary loss of battery life. I've tried it, worked fine, my problem was that I could not find the specs on the Touch3G battery online. I was wondering if anybody had any experience with it, but the question was answered. Thank you.

K
All in all, its to save money on buying a stupid wall charger adapter from apple if the tilt2 adpater suffices since you can plug in USB in it.
If you have a look at the second picture of the Apple USB Power Adapter (UK) it looks like it says it has a voltage out of 5v Dc at 1A
http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MB706B/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY#overview so I imagine it should be ok.
Oh man, thank you so much for that one. Best help yet!

Struggling with a car charger

Hey, I am hoping someone can help me find the correct car charger adapter for my Galaxy note. I have tried a few and struggled.
I am looking for an adapter similar to this ... http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002C3AFHG
The problem is that it doesnt output correct (5v, 1mAmp ... read comment http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R2LOQFBMC3I746/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt#R2LOQFBMC3I746) ... as a result, the charge is very slow and not useful for using device as a sat nav.
Is there anyone who has bought such an adapter that charges well?
Thanks.:cyclops:
Yes. The stock SAMSUNG car charger charges at a rate sufficient to increase the charge in the battery while using a nav device.
A search in this forum will find an older thread that discussed this. On member tested many car chargers and discovered that the SAMSUNG was the only one he found that performed properly.
Based on that review, I purchased the SAMSUNG charger on either ebay or amazon (don't remember) for a very good price. I also saved a great deal of money by not purchasing a bunch of cheapies that didn't work! I have been very pleased with my purchase.

Thanks so much for the information - I now know there is something out there, but no links I cant confidently find these chargers you guys speak of...
any links? Thanks
Car Charger
I have the same problem I have bougth a couple of cheap ones off ebay, but the battery still drains during Sat Nav use.
Looks like I may have to shell out for a more expensive one........
It doesnt seem an uncommon problem, but dame, it so difficult to find help. I have searched high and low for the above links. The problem is a real one, esp as I am looking for an adapter to plug to an exisiting cable...
I got the stock Car Dock and love it. Use it to play music via bluetooth and nav and its charges just fine.

It isn't difficult to find help. It IS difficult to want to help someone too lazy to do a simple search!
Go to amazon and search for "original car charger for Galaxy Note". I bought the one from Frontier Telecom LLC.
You'll have to do the rest yourself. I'm not going to buy it for you.

You can use any standard usb charger and get the correct current with a modified USB cable.
There is a thread in the forum tells you how to modify it. Basically, shorten the pin 3 and 4 (data differential pair) of the USB connector, and you will smile.

I'm using a cheapo 1amp USB car charger and a standard micro usb cable. Works well with my Note.
Currently I'm using a 2100mah output car charger with 2 in 1 (apple + micro usb) charging head to charge my notes. It can charge and ipad with no problem.
Fast charging from the 2.1A output
Difference betweeb 1a and 2
Hi guys,
My cheap car charger I bought from ebay do not charge my note, when I use the navigation.
1) How do I check whether they are 0.5a or 1a. It is not written on the charger and not in the description on ebay. How do I mesure that, with an android software?
2) Is there a difference between using a 1a and 2a car charger or is this limited to 1a anyway?
thanks
I have purchased this very recently and looks like it is doing a good job. My phone gets charged perfectly during my driving

I also purchased this to help me hold the Note when i use Navigation

Interesting.
This is what I just bought on dealextreme.com:
http://dx.com/p/car-cigarette-power...harger-for-ipad-iphone-white-dc-12-24v-104826
Will see if 2.1A will charge it faster... At least I will have the option between 1A and 2.1A
Samsung stock charger is the best. Charges my Note at the same rate as the travel charger

That's what I posted in the first response to the OP a month ago. I only bought this one car charger for $19 including free overnight shipping.
I am amazed when I read of people buying several of the cheapies that almost never work as well as the OEM charger, because they think $19 is too much to pay for a charger. They spend at least that much on multiple chargers plus MULTIPLE SHIPPING and still don't have a charger that works well!
Just buy the OEM. You'll save money and have a charger that works well when using Sat Nav.

3a charger + charge adapater
If you just want it easy and dont mind the cost, get the sumsang charger - Im just not sure if it shows up as "AC charging" or the slower "USB charging" and if it will actually charge up with full brightness on, GPS, wifi, bluetooth all at once... I do use all those at once.
But if your ok with a bit of fiddling around, get a 12v step down to 5v 3amp power module and use it with a dedicated ic chip charger cable - it will work with all androids and even the misus iphone and will always give fast AC mode charging with more amps than most phones need. or use it to power 2-3 devices.
$5 for the power adatper
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Led-Dis...337?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item256f93f0b1
$2 for the charging cable (example)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-in1-mult...903429?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3cc9932cc5
$1 for a cigarette connector, only to use the cigarette connector body.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-Car-Cig...er_MP3_Player_Accessories&hash=item2ec08a050d
The important part is getting a charger cable with the inbuilt IC chip to tell the gnote to go into AC charging mode, otherwise this solution has been working great for years.

[UPDATE][FIXED!] Dead USB, Microphone Repaired!

So im from India and i bought the GNex even though it hasnt been released by samsung here. Somehow, within 2 months my USB port has got fried. The local cellphone repair man says my IC needs replacement and he hast been able to find the IC for weeks now.
So rather than giving up on this baby completely, i'm thinking ill pick up an external battery charger so that i can at least USE the phone (with ever so limited functionality). Anyway, since i'm in India, ill need to make a purchase from ebay USA and i need to be sure that the external battery charger im getting is right for my phone. Ive narrowed it down to this one
http://orders.ebay.in/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ImportHubViewItem&itemid=200730160116
Has anyone used this one...any reviews...or any other help anyone can offer me. I bought this phone for about $400 odd and dont want to part with it this easily. Thanks!
PS: I have the International GSM version i9250 with stock battery
Have you tried charging with the pogo pins? Plenty of people have made their own pogo pin docks that work great once you enable fast charge with a custom kernel.

Nah haven't tried that. Any links/how-to's? Also, any thoughts about the external charger i've linked?

There's two ways to utilize the pogo pins. The first option is that you can actually buy/make a pogo pin dock, and in essence you just set up the dock so that the pins press up against the contacts on the phone and provide a charging current. Samsung offers the car and desktop docks to do just that, though they're really expensive and hard to find lately. If you make one yourself, you only need to connect two of the three pins, but you'll need a custom kernel in order to actually charge at 1A instead of 500mA. The other option is to connect an inductive charger to the pogo pins, and it can even be done internally if you have the OEM extended battery cover.
Several tutorials for DIY pogo pin mods are available in the DIY Workshop thread.
The external charger should work just fine. However, personally I would try to find the official spare battery charger (Samsung sku EBH-1F2SBE), just to eliminate any risk of getting something that's incompatible. Expansys has them in stock, and they even ship to India. I checked Expansys and they seem to have the desktop dock as well.
Another option may be to simply replace the USB board. If you're feeling up to it, you can read the guide here. Keep in mind that you may need to find a different USB board for the GSM version, but the procedure should be pretty much the same.
Thanks a lot guys. Im a bit sceptic about making my own charging dock but i think i'll try and replace the USB flex cable. That might help. And thanks a ton for those expansys links. They're charging $30 for shipping but at least its genuine stuff. Will report back on progress.
Cheers!
Back with more bad news it seems...
I decided to give my phone to Samsung for repair. They managed to get my charging port to work but now my mic isnt working. They said they replaced the flex cable but i really dont know what they did. I was just wondering, are the mic and usb connector assembly both on the USB flex cable? So is it possible that they used a bad part? Any other possibilities? Any help would be appreciated guys. Is it worth ordering a flex cable and getting it replaced now?
BUMP!
any help at all would be appreciated please!
Fixed!
So all that was needed was a flex cable. Ordered it, got Samsung to hook it up, and everything works! Thanks to all for the help!

Car charging doesn't work ???

Hello everyone, a little help if you want, I have a problem, in my car, the cigarette lighter works, it turns on and heats, but impossible to charge my phone whereas before it worked very well, i tried several cables and adapters, is there something to activate in usb debugging for example?
Thank you in advance.
Does your phone charge when plugged into an outlet or computer?
If so, it is possible that the charger isn't seated properly in the socket or doesn't produce enough amperage.
Make sure the charger can put out 3A. That is plenty to charge a Note 10+.

Hello and thanks for the answer, yes it’s charging on pc for example, your idea seems to be the good one, new phones needs more powerful chargers, gonna try with a 3A at least,
