p.s what is RW-- r- r- ???
i cant found RW or r,r on permissions -.-
aaaand on description say: backup your original apk. lol But how does that?
iam overwhelmed XD
firstly the apk is not for install manually.
you need to move it to system/app using root explorer.
ffirstly copy the file to system
mount r/w
and change the permission to 644 or rw-r--r--
now move systemui.apk to system/app
and restart phone,
it should take effect.

so I tried installing a systemUI.apk, and lost my notification bar and lock screen.
I tried moving the original apk back but it wouldnt work.
on ESFile explorer, mount r/w has ro and rw options. which ones do I need to have checked?

Check both r/w.
And SystemUI.apk cannot be installed. Shouldn't be either.

Help with swapping int mem and SD card

New to all this so proceeding slow and cautiously. Recently rooted my Acer A100 with ota ICS installed. When trying to swap SD card and internal memory using Crossix directions I ran into an error msg that I haven't seen posted by anyone. The only difference I can find is his directions recommend using Root Explorer and I am currently using Root Browser Lite. Anyway when I go to rename install-recovery.sh to .bak it says Root Browser Lite is granted Superuser access but the operation fails. I looked at the Permissions for the file and they are rwxr--r-- I tried to change the Permissions to rwxrwxrwx and got an error msg that said "Changing permissions was not successful. Please note that some file systems do not allow permission changes." Would using Root Explorer change anything? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Sounds like a root issue, try rebooting, opening superuser first then try.... unless you already put the file there and permissions aren't correct, that will brick you! If you already did force close super user. Remember if all else fails you can use Adb.
sent from your future.

Check mount r/w while in /system.

Its because /system is a partition, not a directory, so you have to mount the partition r/w to get it in the folders and files on it.

[Q] Permission problem with ExtSd2InternalSd

ExtSd2InternalSd is working perfectly, and also i can save the file in the internal sd (now as external sd), but i have the permission problem to open those files, i need to us root explorer to change the files permission to open those files.
please help
thank you

Grant permission to write to SD (external)

Hi,
I am trying to figure out if I can grant write permissions to the external sdcard on my phone, to an app within an app. To be specific, ES Note Editor, which is a component of ES File Explorer.
Background: I recently loaded a custom rom (resurrection remix 6.0, by lox2013), upgrading to marshmallow. I now am dealing with all the fun permission issues associated with marshmallow.
I was able to figure out how to grant permissions to the patent app. I'm able to create files with it, rename, and move stuff. But if I open a text file, on my external sdcard using Es Note Editor, I get a permission error when trying to save.
Doing some research I learned how to grant permissions by command line:
example:
#pm grant com.estrongs.android.pop-2 android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
And I believe the full name of the app to be com.estrongs.android.pop-2.app.BTPopNoteEditor
But when I try to execute the command, using the full name for the app, in a terminal, as su, it returns the description of the command, along with options. Just like when you type a command wrong in Linux.
Any thoughts?
Any possible ideas would be much appreciated, thanks.
