M9 lockscreen music controls - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
When music is playing I don't any music controls on the lockscreen, unlike in my m7.
I searched online and in the settings and didn't find anything specific.
Anyone have any idea?
Thanks in advance.

Hello there, try using a music player like a jet audio player (plus) or poweramp and enable it within that apps settings. I find that works. hope it fixes your issue.

Thank you, but I was wondering about HTC's music player.
Did they remove it on sense 7?

Never was able to get lock screen controls on stock sense 7 with that music player, always had to download a separate music player app for that. I also rooted and installed a custom rom to enable volume music controls which allow you to change the track when the screen is off. (leedroid rom)

Music control with volume keys

Does anyone know if/how I can enable skipping music tracks (in stock music player) using volume keys?
I'm running oxygen 2.0 signed and its not written into this rom.
Is there a script for this or a zip to flash or something?

It's only written into CyanogenMod roms as far as I'm away. You could find an app but I doubt it. Pretty sure that with the stock music player you can have pause, play, next and back on the lockscreen.

You need to search before posting these questions this has been answered many times sense apps and widgets don't work on non sense roms. Search around there are lots of music apps around.
Sent through the power of Cthulhu!!!
I think that doubleTwist is a really good music player - it can also be controlled from lockscreen
Give it a try
Another good player is PlayerPro, in cooperation with isyncr you can sync your iTunes music library!

i am tottaly in love with zplayer. it looks sooo slick.
there is also a new Cyanogenmod music app which looks terrific. Check that out
I totally recommend cm9 music player butnyou would need to have a ics rom which I also recommend. There is a little glitch on the camera but no big deal.

[Q] Changing the music app on MildWild 3.5.5

I recently switched from using VillianRom to MildWild 3.5.5.
I really like MildWild's ICS themed take on a stable Gingerbread core. The only problem Im having is some issues with the newer Android Music app that comes included in that rom.
I tend to do the majority of my music playing through my car stereo via bluetooth. If I use the standard HTC music app on the standard rom, or the stock android 2.3.6 music app on VillainRom then I get the song titles displayed in my car stereo. If I use ANY other music player, the display remains blank (although the music still plays OK).
I think this issue is related to the music app more than the rom, as I did once try the android 4 music app under Villainrom and noticed this didnt stream track titles across - hence I ended up going back to the default 2.3.6 player.
Im wondering now if I can somehow install the 2.3.6 gingerbread music app on the MildWild 3.5.5 rom. It might fix my issues.
Why don't you use a third-party musuc app like PowerAmp (best music app for Android imho).

3rd party apps don't stream track titles via bluetooth either.

I tried power amp but it doesn't stream track and artist titles via Bluetooth, so its very difficult to operate the music app using my car's steering controls and display screen. I've not found an audio app other than stock android or stock HTC players that work in this respect.
Have you tried music mod app.. This uses the older standard music frame work with nice touch screen gestures

[Q] HTC Music Player - Disable Music Enhancement?

Hi,
I really like the HTC Music player and because I'm using the ViperOneM8 ROM, It's skinned with the theme I've applied.
One thing that I've found with the player is that it applies some kind of equalisation to my music, for example listening to music through the Google Music app sounds very different to the HTC Music app. After looking around, I found the HTC Music Enhancer app.
Does anyone is this is the app that is applying the equalisation in the background, and how I can disable it?
Thanks.

Not quite sure. But could be that the HTCMusicEnhancer is actually the Boomsound option in the settings. Try deactivating boomsound while headphones are plugged in and give a short feedback if it worked the way you intended it.
*deleted* wrong info. Sorry!

I have Boomsound disabled, I'm taking about just the HTC Music player, it seems to equalise the music even with Boomsound disabled. Playing it with any other music player with equalizers disabled sound much different to the HTC Music player.
I used Titanium Backup to freeze HTC audio enhancement, but the sound is the same (I think maybe the audio enhancement is for getting album art etc?)

Music player recommendations/help

I am using a N 5X and the 7.1.1 developer preview and want to use one app for playing music on my device.
I have been using Play Music but find it a bit awkward to see what is on my device and what is on their cloud service. To get around this I have started to use Poweramp to play music stored on my phone and it is great but my phone does not recognise it as a music player app. So if I click on an mp3 file I get the option of Play Music or VLC to open it but not Poweramp. I have cleared all defaults etc but Poweramp isn't ever given as on option.
Likewise Poweramp isn't given as an option to associate with music on the android auto app.
Other than Play Music are there any good alternatives that are recognised as apps to set as a default for music files? Or am I (and Google search) missing something I can change in the settings to enable Poweramp as an option?

I always use BlackPlayer EX. For me it's the best music player on android.
Great design, great customization, tag editing, everything.
The free version is 100% usable so you can try.
Shuttle Music Player is pretty sweet. It's been my favorite for a while now.
I use sony walkman is really nice looking
Just use Default App Manager Lite to set poweramp as the default (it should work with nougat but i haven't tried it)
Asus Music Player simple beautiful in theme and apps section in nexus 5x section

I have tried that, the app says it is default but when I tap on an mp3 file I still only get either play music or vlc

Thanks for the recommendations, am currently giving Shuttle a go, solved all my issues so far ?

One issue I have come across is that neither app is able to be prompted to play without manual intervention. So I have a task set within Trigger to open the music app when I connect to the car via Bluetooth, which it does, but when I press the media button in the car the track info comes up but doesn't actually start playing. Play Music does this and I am wandering if there is something I am missing?
