Hi everybody, I've been using my T3 stock camera app for months now and haven't had wonderful results...
Few days ago, I downloaded many camera apps and tried them out. My favorite two are:
- Open Camera: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-camera-t2850557
- Google Camera: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.GoogleCamera
These are the ones I had best results with (way better than the stock app!).
Have you had the same experience? Do you recommend any other app?

Though I was the only one sad about this camera! It's so bad compared to other cheaper phones. I will definitely try these ones. Thanks
Use Google Camera app... Pictures came out much better compare to stock camera of T3...

Is there a fast enough camera app that produse decent quality photos to be used as the default in CM7? I like d default in sence rom. Is there a similar app to be used in cm7?
Vignate, HLR Cam and all others i tried are slow. The faster cam apps produce poor quality photos.

I have tried camera360 and vignette, as they were the best camera apps they told me. Both take about 10 seconds to process a photo though which annoyed me, and imo the quality was not even better than the stock cyanogenmod app.
So I keep using the stock one, which can also make videos (as many camera apps can't). Try using a different theme that changes the layout of the stock app a little. It still looks like ****, but at least a bit better
Hi,
how about this?

on page 3 it is posted "With default parameters aosp stock camera beats miui in terms of sharpness and focusing."
Also I read about problems uninstalling it, so I haven't tried it myself...
I'm using MIUI Camera, pretty solid and good.
I've been on the camera hunting too. The ONLY app which satisfied me (and reminded me of the features my previous phone -n95- had) was Camera Advance But on the CM7Nightlies at least, the app produces a black screen when taking photos, rendering the camera useless untill you reboot the device. The dev knows about it, but it has been months since the last update.
But it's worth the try if you ask me. Photo quality is awesome.
Hi Guys,
I know there are similar threads, BUT the ONE X does have a very special camera, and I was wondering if anybody has had any luck with any specific Camera Apps yet?
Here are a few that I've tried so far, but nothing too special to be honest:
1. Camera 360
2. Paper Camera
3. Stock Camera App
So far Camera 360 is probably the best, but I've heard good things about Camera FV-5 and Camera Zoom FX?
When you say camera 360 is probaly the best, in what way?
Lower compression would be great, but I wonder how much the imagesense chip will restrict this and can third party camera apps bypass this process. I have tried camera fv-5 and there does seem to be a little less compression, which allows for slightly more detail, also you can save in png, but there is no zoom function.
All third party apps bypass ImageSense. I love Camera360. Way less compression, and the available filters are pretty cool too, better than Instagram~
I use now Camera ICS.
This one can disable the compression (at least it says so) and indeed the files get much bigger (100% in jpeg mode instead of 90 or 95%)
And since it still is JPG, you still can use the EXIF info.
I tried some others, but they did miss options or did also compress or the lighting was worse, or .......
I've tried a lot of 3rd party camera apps and, honestly, I find the stock HTC app to be the best.
Camera FV-5 is very good though.
Camera360 was great until some background process started to overheat My HOX, and I uninstalled it..

Stock HTC app has the best UI, but the worst image quality.

Hmm, can't say I've ever had this problem.
You may find this of interest, I have done a quick comparison between these camera apps.
1. Camera 360
2. Camera ICS
3. Camera FV-5
4. HTC Camera
You may find the results surprising, please visit the following link to the HTC ONE Users Group at Flickr http://www.flickr.com/groups/htc-one/discuss/72157629696073156/
Ive just been using stock ive had no problems with it
Stock is better than camera zoom fx, that thing may have bigger files but it is grainy in low light and over exposed everywhere else (unless you like that).
I can get better pictures using stock and the opening gallery and clicking that edit button.
If you click edit > effects then edit at the top you can manually edit all the filtering

Thanks for taking the time to upload the comparison photos, Radiognome! Really appreciate it!!

The thing about the camera apps is that you can control exposure way more than you can with the stock app. If you were serious about taking pictures on the HOX, you'd be fiddling with every setting there is Stock camera definitely has the better metering, but I still believe that image quality wise, there's still way too much compression. I'll try to do a comparison some day.
Hi,
I am using a custom rom (a fairly recent CM 12.1 nightly) on my Z1C. As often mentioned, the default Camera App (as well as the Google Camera app) produce rather bad pictures, especially in the dark.
I am looking for some replacement app (free or not). There are plenty of them, and I am looking for some recommendations. I am especially interested in the following points:
- Noise reduction in the dark
- Possibility to save pictures to an external SD card
- Convenient panorama feature
- Manual settings
- ...
Thank you very much!
PS: I am aware of the possibility to port the Z4 Camera App, but I am looking for some more out-of-the-box solution...
Camera FV-5 and A better camera are your best options for any phone , just don't expect miracles on the Z1c. The lack of Camera api 2 support from Sony will make diferences marginal between any camera apps.
open Camera is an acceptable alternative, but I guess the main differences are firmware/Os related
If photos quality is a top priority for you, you are better off going back to srock and restoring camera features (and other drm stuff) on this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...evices-drm-t2930672/post60772411#post60772411
Camera in cm is ****. The difference is as clear as day and night.
Ok, thanks everybody for your answers!
I'm totally happy with Camera MX 3.0 - can't beat the price!

Running pixel experience with android 10. Haven't had any issues since upgrading to 4GB ram runs just like it use to back when I first got it.
By the way, facing problems at camera section. I was using Camera NX (super smoothly) for pixel experience with android 9 but it does not work with android 10.
Does anybody has the stable Gcam for pixel experience with android 10?? If yes, it will be highly appreciable if you share the download link.
+1 to this. We need sone sort of minimal or stable gcam for our sluggish device :crying:
I have the same issue. The only camera app that work nice and fast is the camera go (see my post here)
I think there's an issue with the camera library that comes with PE10. Every time I take an HDR+ picture, it crashes the camera app (I've tried several).
Best way forward is to debug the issue.

Hello. As you may know, because of this phone's processor, the GCam app port does not work. Are there any alternatives, or anything you've found to have worked better than the default app, even partially? GCam Go app, or other?
Also, on another note, I've disabled the Samsung gallery app in favor of Google Photos but now the regular Samsung camera app won't preview pictures. Which system app should I reenable with ADB? Thank you.
(I'm all ears to other tips and tricks for this phone as well.)
The GCam that worked for me is PenguinGCam v7.0-hotfix1
For quick photos, the default camera is good. Also if you want to use some of the built-in special features like slowmo, pano, etc.
If you want something more pro, i got manual camera and it works fine; it let's me control the focal distance manually. It also has some cool features aside of the manual mode, like time-lapse (the only good app available to capture time-lapses was LapseIt and, unfortunately, the pro versions is not available anymore due to the last update being years ago so you can't capture in high res). I discovered manual camera a few weeks ago because the pro version was in sale (free).

I just tried it, but I can't get the manual focus to work (it doesn't get affected by the slider at all) so it's not pretty useful as a pro camera for me. I don't know if it's just me or it happens to every A32.
Also, i already have the pro version of manual camera so i'll stick with that one for now. Thanks anyway!

Does any of those apps offer a good option for low light photography?
GCam GO works ok (it is much better than stock app for that purpose), but I was wondering if there is any other app with similar results for low light compared to the original GCam (which has better results than GCam Go).
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply!
It worked much better than any gcam apk I've tried, the image appears on the screen on this one
Do you know the recommended settings or specific xml file I should use?
Unfortunately only the "hypercam" and "video" modes works, Night Sight and Portrait modes just give me a black screen.
Edit: nevermind, I've just tested hypercam on my Nokia 7.2 and the night sight is not the same as the GCam apk, the results are very similar to GCam GO actually. (the Samsung A32 is my wife's new phone, I was trying to install gcam because she was very impressed with the low light pictures I take with my phone using it).
Thanks though! Tmj
