Any Fast Charge Kernel Update for CM 12.1 - t0lte? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I modded a wireless charging module onto my note 2 but it only charges @ a slow 460mAh with my huge battery (9Ah) this is a pain and useless to me. The module is rated for 1A (5.13v open) and read I need to get a different kernel to speed up the charging. If it wasn't for my moto 360, I'd just go back to 4.3 or 4.4 but the watch works horribly with those versions of Android.
Have there been any kernel mods released for CM 12.1 for the t0lte variant?
Can someone explain how the phone determines what speed it charges at based on the USB cable? I have a dual port AC adapter and my Note 2 stock USB cable charges at 900mAh while the stock S4 USB cable charges at 1,200 mAh. Why is this???

usb fast charge?

hi there
I've just received my new my glide a few days ago and upgraded to ics lite rom .5 straight away.
i noticed that it charges extremely slow when plugged into the computer, almost doesn't charge at all if using it at the same time. i saw a option in system tuner about supporting usb fast charge. i was wondering if any of the roms or kernal for the glide supports this feature?
Have you tried different computer/cable? Maybe the usb port is not giving off enough power. I'm on Lightrom .5 as well, and it works the way it always has - as in, with GB. Keep in mind, usb charging is always slower than power outlet adapter.
Another option is using the charge-only cable or adapter - those have two pins shorted with a resistor, that tells the phone to suck more juice. I just ordered some adapters for my tablet, that should work with the phone as well. I have a generic car charger that doesn't have the pins shorted. Haven't tested yet. Let me know if you're interested, I can post results once I receive them.

Make sure you're not coming off a hub? Straight off the PC / laptop / whatever. Or, if a hub, make sure it's a powered one / use the AC adapter

[Q] What is the maximum mA can the mini handle when charging?

Hi guys,
I've noticed that my galaxy s4 mini 3g comes with a 1000 mA (1A) charger and it charges at a very good speed compared to when I plug it to an ordinairy USB port (500mA only I believe) on the desktop.
It gets warm after a while while charging using the official samsung wall charger (1A)
I plugged it in my battery bank where the output is said to be 1500 mA and it charged up much faster but gets a little more warmer in the back.
I have an ipad charger here rated for 2.1A but I haven't tried it yet..
I want to find the fastest but also a safe way to charge my phone in order for the battery life to become longer before I need to buy a new one. So I want to ask you guys here in the forum what chargers do you use?
A good read that made more familiar with charging via USB:
http://www.extremetech.com/computing/159727-how-to-charge-your-smartphone-and-other-usb-devices-as-quickly-as-possible
For the battery life to remain long you should stick with lower amperages. The 1A charger should do you fine. USB ports are typically 0.5A, unless its a USB3 port which gives more amperage I think.
I've used a Mega 6.3 charger on the S4 mini before (2A).

Has anyone tried the Quick Charge 2.0 supply with the Nexus 5?

As the title says anyone tried it? I know Nexus 5 doesn't have QC2.0 but still does it work?
Apparently not, while the n5 has a sd800 which supports qc2.0 it uses a ti charging chipset or something, anyhoo if you use a 2amp charger it'll charge the phone in 70 minutes anyway.
Faux kernel charging drivers allow up to 2 amp input with the kernel and the app.
Charging chip allows up to 3AMP and 9V, but probably other circriitry can't handle that
I tried it. Got it from Amazon, the Aukey (EU) charger.
So far, been using it with a new usb cable for almost(!) a month. Satisfied.

Can anyone tell me the exact charger model number of the tab s4 power brick?

I want to make sure the one im using is the one that originally came with the tablet. I have lots of Samsung devices and want to make sure I have the right one that came with it.
The one I think it is has a model number of EP-TA200 but that might be the one that came with my s10.
please and thank you.
I have two lightning "adaptive fast charging" wall plugs that I got with my Tab S4 tablet and S7 Edge phone, both are identical model EP-TA20JWE. One is labeled made in Viet Nam, the other made in China. Not sure which is which, but based on the wear, the one from Viet Nam came from my tablet (I have had my S7 Edge longer, and the print on the Made in Chine charger looks more faded).
Y use usb 2.0 port to charge my tab s4. It is?slowly but i think it is good.

You can use any standard USB port. Older ports won't charge as fast as newer. i.e. USB 1.0 or 1.1 will charge slower than a 2.0, and a 2.0 will be slower than a 3.0.

i read that slowly charge os setter than fast charge

Well, slow charge certainly takes longer than fast charge. I'm not aware of anything that makes slow charging safer.
There are other threads on different charging standards, and how Samsung works or doesn't work with them. Modern chargers / devices are smart and designed to optimize charging. They monitor the battery and adjust the voltage to safely / efficiently charge the battery and adjust the voltage as the battery is recharged. Samsung uses a 9V / 5V system. This plays best with QC 2.0, worst with PD (PD will default to 5V, 2A). When you plug into a USB port on a PC, or an older cell phone charger, it is limited to 5V, and the current is limited. Also, the old belief that leaving modern devices plugged in after charging to 100% will hurt the battery is false.
USB 1.0/1.1/2.0 - 5V, 0.5A
USB 3.0 - 5V, 0.9 Amps
Old USB Phone Chargers - 5V, 0.5 to 1A
Old Samsung Charger (Pre-Lightning Tab S2) - 5V, 2A
Samsung Lightning Charger (S7 through S10, Tab S4) - 9V, 1.7A / 5V, 2A

Charge current

Hi,
When I plug in a Galaxy S4 (jfltexx) to the USB port of my computer, it charges only with 440mA.
Other USB devices can charge with 1.1A on the same USB port.
The S4 would be able to charge with higher current though, on a dedicated charger it charges with ~1.8A (using the same cable). What could be the reason that it charges only with 440mA on the USB port? Can this be changed?
Charging technology is a bit convoluted - both ends must talk to each other and agree on something:
Charger compatibility
OnePlus 6t charges at 3A with the charger that came along with it. If I use my laptop charger, it charges at 1A. It's a 160W usb-c charger. Is there any specifications that I need to check before buying a charger that will give best performance?.

If they don't, then it falls back to the lowest.
Perhaps you find some solution in a more appropriate S4 thread, like this:
Findings on Galaxy S4 charging current
With the advent of the S4, and its higher capacity battery, one could understand a higher charging current. However, I seem to have uncovered some findings that the charging system on the S4 is a bit more complex than first thought! This is a bit...
