S6 Edge + sprint unlock need someone - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Need someone with s6 edge + sprint so I can test unlock for GSM in USA
Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk

I have sprint s6 edge plus and i want it domestic gsm unlocked.

When I activated mine with Sprint I received an on-screen confirmation with PIN number to unlock the SIM card.

your must have paid off the phone in full because under new policy sprint automatically unlocks the phone once its paid off or off contract.
sprint don't use unlock codes anymore its by air like iphone now.

I just got one yeaterday with new service agreement. No finance or easy pay. So your saying it should already be unlocked?
Sent from my SM-G928P using XDA Free mobile app

according to sprint policy your device should be off contract or paid off if financed to do the domestic unlock. but you can ask for international unlock anytime just tell them you are going overseas ( excludes mexico and canada sprint works there) for extended period of time ( 1-2 months) and you don't want to pay roaming.
but you can call sprint and ask for domestic unlock after 30 - 45 days just say you are going to area in usa where service is very poor ( check coverage map) it might work. but chances are really low.

Note 3 overseas use

Hi Guys
I have a questions if anyone can help me out. I am with verizon and looking to jump ship to t-mobile. I travel extensively overseas to london due to work commitment ( almost every second month for 7-10 days) and they company want me to use the local sim cards.
I have a trip coming up at end of this month, does t-mobile phone unlocked for overseas use from the box like verizon ? or do i have to wait a certain time before i can unlock the phone for overseas use ? I understand t-mobile is sim-locked but does that also apply to overseas providers ?

Use the device on your T-Mobile line for 40 days and call in to get it unlocked. A stock T-Mobile N900T is carrier locked even if you throw use a foreign SIM, so get it unlocked.
Actually t-mobile has great international plans, check the details, but it is very reasonable and you can call US for free as long as you're on WiFi (and don't receive any calls). After 40 days, they will unlock it for you anyhow and I'm not sure how it works if you pay COD, in theory your phone would be yours and they should unlock it right away.
You can unlock it yourself see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471742here

[Q] Is Sprint Galaxy S6 domestic SIM unlockable?

According to Sprint unlock policy, it says "For domestic SIM unlockable devices launched after February 2015, Sprint will automatically unlock the device when it becomes eligible." Does anyone know if Sprint Galaxy S6 phones are domestic SIM unlockable?
Thanks,
RJ
I'd like to know as well... and maybe a more pertinent question, does it even have a sim slot on sprint?
Yes. Just got mine today. And does have sim card.
can it be used with a AT&T or T-Mobile SIM card?
Did you try to use a SIM card from a different carrier to see if it worked or not?
I have not as I do not have any others to try.
If we pay full price for it will the phone be unlocked? I have simple mobile so I need an unlocked version and I couldn't figur out how to get it from t mobile that way. Also Verizon is unlocked but seems like Verizon messed with the software ruining some things so I'd rather avoid them.

Typically the best way to get an "Unlocked" version is straight through the manufacturer or looking for a g920F on amazon. The phones sold by carriers are specifically designed for their networks, so compatibility may not be what you need. Usually the Factory Unlocked variants (Model Fs) have more radios in them and are compatible with more networks.

This app first of all only unlocks it for overseas so if you're trying to unlock it domestically you're beat. I already got the apps online and unlocked it for overseas and its pretty useless domestically. Sprint will unlock it but make sure they do it right. It isn't the msl that does nothing to unlock your phone. TRust me I worked for them before
Another Success
I put in an order with idone, and he successfully domestic unlocked my phone. It Works
I got data and text working on a sm-g920r7 which is very close to the Sprint model but calls still don't work, any advice?

Yep, they have to unlock your device once your contract is up.
Sprint phones are SIM unlock able, I got mine unlocked from sprint as the contract was up and I moved to another provider.
Also, for those who have their SIM's unlocked, you will need the MSL to actually get non-sprint LTE working on your phone. You can get that from sprint or you need to root your phone to get the MSL (search threads here on XDA, I cannot post links yet).
Once you have MSL, you need to go into sprint data programming to enable to the LTE bands for the phone to get non-sprint LTE, i had to search a lot before I could get it working:
key in ##DATA# on your dialpad
click on EDIT, type in your MSL
Go to LTE, band priority, make 2, 5, 15 as your first three bands, the rest can be anything
disable the sprint bands band 25, band 26, band 41 by clicking on each of those options under LTE and uncheck the enable box
Now go back
Choose eHRPD and and disable it, phone should automatically reboot and you have AT&T LTE bands available to you
Link for the above video can be found on youtube by searching for Spring galaxy S7 enable lte bands (can't post link as I don't have rights yet)

Anyone able to use this on AT&T? Heard it was not possible...

I want to use this on AT&T but heard it was not possible cause this new t-mobile unlocking app which will prevent this from happening unless you actually have t-mobile service for 40 days.

That's correct, only other option right now is to have someone who has tmobile (for more than 40 days) who purchased the phone and unlock it themselves under their account, then they can sell you the device.
false my sister has tmobile got s6 edge didn't like it compared to her iphone 6 plus so gave it to me as a early bday gift im on att and I am using it with out problems other than the lte band is a lil slower
If she just gave it to you for use on att how was it unlocked?

i just found out that she was using it on tmobile but got it threw samsung i guess i shouldve asked her all the details from the get go sorry for oping my big mouth without my facts together
That might your bandwidth speeds. Sounds like it might be an international model maybe? It would work on T-Mobile or AT&T, but you wouldn't pick up full LTE speeds.

Model with LTE Band 4 (AWS: 1700/2100)

Hi! I want to buy an HTC Desire Eye but I need a version with LTE Band 4 (AWS: 1700/2100) without contract.
Can anybody tell me a safe link from amazon to buy it?
Thanks!

The AT&T version supports LTE band 4 and I just bought one for my wife. At first I thought I'd get it at the AT&T store, but they won't unlock it until you've been using their service for 60 days, so I bought it off of the HTC website (without contract), but it turned out that it was still locked to AT&T and I would still need the 60 days of service for them (AT&T) to unlock it. Instead, I purchased an unlock code online for $6.95 and had it working on T-Mobile's network in no time. If I had it to do over again, I'd buy it from the AT&T store with a pre-pay plan and then just use the online unlock code since the phone is about $100 cheaper at the AT&T store than on the HTC site (and it's the exact same phone).

Thanks for the answer! Can you buy it with a pre-pay plan through AT&T website insted of from a store? I've researched AT&T site and it seems to be mandatory buy the phone with contract but perhaps Im doing something wrong since Im uruguaian and do not understand precisely how AT&T operates.

I don't think you can get it with a pre-pay plan online. I think I tried that but didn't get very far. I'm not an AT&T customer either, so I'm not very familiar with their plans.
Just buy a used one from amazon at&t version and get an unlock code on ebay for under $5, that's what I did

Unlocking T-Mobile 1+1 Samsung S8+

Hi, The 1700$ for 2x S8+ promotion suites my needs, the only problem is I have to activate T-mobile line but I would like to take it with me to Israel.
Is it possible to unlock it? (Via T-Mobile or by installing a new rom)

Are you paying for the phone in full immediately, or paying monthly for it? There is no way to install a new ROM since there is no root or bootloader unlock yet.

Yes, because TMobile won't unlock the phone unless it's paid off.
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
There's an unlock app built right into the phone by T-Mobile. As long as it's paid off fully, the app "should" see that and permanently unlock it.
Also, you need to be on t-mobile for at least 40 days.
If he calls on and says he is traveling he could get it done in less than 40 days. I had my LG V20 unlocked with around 28 days on the T-Mobile network.
I'm the t mobile app, there is a option to unlock it temporarily for the trip. But he should be able to unlock it permanently

Yes this is true.. I "traveled" numerous times, and TMO Reps request the unlock, as long as the device is paid off. I had my unlock acceptance. Hence, I requested my unlock on Friday April 22nd, and got the acceptance on April 24th. In reality the 40 day rule has a loophole.

T-Mo is pretty relaxed with unlocking these days. Got on T-Mo app and start a chat. Told rep that I need the phone unlocked for travel. Rep came back within 2 mins and told me to do a Permanent Unlock request from the app and it worked. I still have device payment on this phone by the way. ?

FWIW Best Buy begins selling unlocked S8/+ on May 31.
How does two S8+ for $1700 qualify as a promotion? ”Promotion" generally implies a discount of some kind.
Hey guys, check out this promotion: Ford is selling Mustang GTs at $40,000 each, or two for $80,000.

Good thing you went though T-Force, every other support channel seems totally clueless about unlocking T-Mobile phones bought directly through Samsung. They try to whitelist the IMEI in the Device Unlock app, but that won't work. They need to send a request to add the IMEI to their inventory system so it looks like it was sold by them.

Yup, i asked t add to their system. This is how i started the conversation.
"Hi, I purchased a Samsung S8+ from Samsung directly (T-mobile branded), but it is not showing up as a T-Mobile device under my account. I'd like to have my IMEI added as T-Mobile phone so i can request a SIM Unlock. Please help."
T-Force CSR asked for IMEI to add to their system and submitted it for unlock.

Technically I would think they had no choice but to unlock yours immediately. If you didn't purchase it directly from them how could they fully bind you to their policy.

Just seen this on android central, in Canada new law is to have all phones in 2017 unlocked,
At the end of the article.. found this..
Other devices, like the Galaxy S8, are sold unlocked and become locked to the first SIM card inserted in the phone.
My phone will be coming in, I hear some people saying some are unlocked, after putting in ur sim, has anyone tried putting another sim from another provider.
