Hello!
Anybody with a JB 4.1.1 ROM got a running external dac on the n7000 ?
ie Fiio E7.
Thanks!
Does 4.1.1 provide digital audio output from note? If so, would it be possible to connect it to stereo system using usb cable? I have Denon micro system and it has usb plug so you can plug in iPhone or iPad and it sounded great when I tryed it. If same thing would be possible with my note I would love it.

I know that the I9300 and the N7100 have a digital unprocessed line-out that you can connect to various digital devices and they can be used as a DAC.
I just wonder, if this feature has any hardware limitations or it's just the JB ROM?
If you have the USB HOST cable you can try connecting it to your DENON.

I recieved my cable yesterday but cannot find how to use the n7000 as a host. The sound still comes out through the phone speaker and nothing through the DAC.
Audio revolution will record to the phone via usb. Usb audio tester recognises my headphone dac as burr brown, but not able to utilise for audio transfer from phone to dac yet.
My current rom is "Ultimate N7000 XXLSC JellyBean 4.1.2 v5.1"
Has anyone had success with any other rom or kernel ?
Damm I'd love it worked. I want a dac on m'y note , yamaha sucks.

I'm also interested in this matter, I would like to have better audio.
Awaiting the results of their experience

Have you activated audio output in the settings under System/Dock?

Note N7000 to Denon AVR
I don't have a DAC but a Denon 1312 AVR with no USB. However, I connect the Note N7000 to the AVR via HDMI using the MHL Connector. Works great and gives near lossless audio when I play FLAC.

I have a fiio dac but can't use it with the note. There's no digital signal output to attach it to. Trust me. I've looked into it. I have to make do with using the headphone amp only, which is still a great improvement.

I have tried it with an OTG cable and my fiio E7 on jelly bean 4.2 (liquid smooth rom) but haven't had any succes yet. It is possible with the galaxy S3. And I think there should be a way to do it with the note too, since its able to transmit it trough HDMI.
There are some interesting threads on headfi about the matter.
Somebody should kickstart hdmi based DAC with built in power so we can skip mhl connection size can be as big as note as long is not thick... all n7000 / n7100 will rejoice
You here it first from here

Probably very, VERY LATE in the game. But I have a Note 1, N7000 version that I'm trying to revive purely as a DAP. I've read that only the SGH i717 model supports audio over USB (via OTG). Can anyone confirm? Is there a ROM that can be used for the N7000 version that will allow audio over USB? Thanks.
Hi,
My friend bought good quality DAC(based on Wolfson) + Amplifier = Fiio E17.
Did someone managed to connect Fiio E17 to Huawei Ascend P6 ?
I tried today and Fiio E17 perfectly works as external DAC/Amplifier with HTC One. No any extra software required.
HTC simply detects Fiio just after connecting and re-route sound to external DAC from built-in speaker.
I tried with Ascend P6 and device support USB OTG (because pendrive works OK)
but while connecting in same way Fiio E17 nothing is detected and sound still play only from built-in speaker

I have a Fiio E6. No problems other than the fact it's still quiet, but that is because the P6 audio is so quiet.

No wonder, the e6 is just an amplifier.
I'm actually quite surprised the e17 doesn't work, hope a sollution pop's up quick.

Small update: tried it with Fiio E7 and Beresford TC-7520SEG: doesn't work.
usb sticks do work with usb-otg cable
Hopefully a fix from Huawei comes quickly, or someone fixes it with a custom rom
Hi Kerwin,
Did you find any custom ROM which support it ?
I have checked "Android Development Section" for P6 on XDA and it doesn`t look good for now.
There is no any custom ROM released yet...
Did you find any guide what need to be modified / added in P6 file system to make it work ?
(after rooting of course
Nuforce icon2 wont work either. Its the same with galaxy s so its not just a huawei problem.
Hello it's not working either with my jds labs c5d. i'm using a mini to micro usb otg cable from jds labs...
they told me to restart my phone so that it maybe could initialize the dac but unforutnately it didn't...
i hpe someone can come up with a solution...
would the cyanogenmod work?
Can anyone who owns the G3 confirm that USB Audio Out (over an OTG cable) works through a DAC? I can't seem to find any information that confirms or discounts that this works.
Thanks!

It does work with my Fiio E17. Just tried it today after almost buying an app that was supposed to do so. My only complaint is that the DAC seems to be charging while connected to the G3.

Thanks, Jesadac! That's great news... I was hoping this was the case, as I believe the G2 also supported it.
I assume you're referring to the USB Audio Player Pro app? It truly doesn't replace the native ability to have a clean digital audio out signal for all sounds out of the phone.
I have the Fiio E18 and a friend has the VZW G3. We just tested the combo and it seems to work fine.

Just bought the new Cayin C5 DAC/Amp. My TMo LG G3 does not put audio out though the amp when connected via OTG. It registers it's connected I'm guessing because all audio is no longer played through the phone. Plugged into my friends Note 4 and it worked right away. Is this is G3 problem? We're both on Lollipop.
I know this is an old thread... but do I still need USB Audio Player Pro to get USB DAC to work? I thought Android 5.0+ brings USB audio, and right now my Beyerdynamic A100 doesn't work by "simply" plugging it in... however I do get about half second of audio and quits.
I go on LG G3 with app USB Audio Player PRO and HibyMusic app, my DAC is Hegel HD2 and DragonFly RED. Logitech USB headphones works too. with China OTG cable.
I can confirm Spotify and youtube doesn't play audio through usb (android 5.1.1), and it still mutes integrated speaker when connected:silly:. Must have usb-player i guess.
Hi everybody. After seeing this thread, i decided to go for a tablet install, rather than a aftermarket nav. My car is a 2008 Peugeot 207. Here is another install i saw on a same model. But i will want to give up on the stock head unit.
I searched for Timur's ROM for Nexus 7 2012 and i noticed he also has a kernel for Nexus 7 2013, so i guess that should also work with a OTG y cable for charging and hub for inputs at the same time.
I would get these, from Kuchar09's list:
Joycon EXR Steering Wheel Control PC Interface
FiiO E10 USB DAC Headphone Amplifier
OTG Y Charge Cable
USB HUB
Amp wiring kit
Digital to Analog Audio Converter for use with SDR Touch
DVB-T Tuner
DVB-T Antenna
DC 2.1A USB charger
THE QUESTION IS: Which tablet should i go for? Nexus 7 2012? Nexus 7 2013? A newer tablet model? I like the samsung tablets, will one of those work? Any sugetions? What do you think?

Nexus 7 2013 seems the most popular, and my first recommendation.
Can be bought for $130-150 USD new and that's impossible to beat for quality and ROMability at that price point. Cheap enough IMO to lose it to theft or overheating without crying too hard.
If you only need charging while using USB OTG, the stock 6.0 Marshmallow works fine, while 5.1 did not.
Timur will not be supporting Marshmallow on N7 2013. You can consider his solution if you need the other features.
really want to get an external DAC like the FiiO K1 but heard even with OTG Storage enabled One Plus Phones dont play well with these.
I am also looking at using the Razer Phone Dac adapter, as that sounded brilliant. and costs a bit less....
bump, looking to get one of these as well. Anyone?
