my phone gives me 6 hours of sot on stock rom, but only 3.5 on cm11 snapshot m12.
Android system is consuming so much MORE than the screen, almost 40% of the whole charge from 100% to 1%,and the battery specs says "Android system" is active for 14 to 18 hours, sometimes more than 24 hours, which leads to lower and lower sot. does anybody know how to solve this problem? I've tried enabling /disabling system services with no result

Hello.
Sometimes my phone works normally about 25hours, sometimes it works twice shorter ~10 hours. I've analyzed battery usage and found out that only difference in Android OS process.
25 hours battery usage
Display - 60%
...
Android OS - 4%
10 hours battery usage
Android OS - 60%
Display - 15%
This definitely looks like a bug. OS should not use more than a display.
Is there any way to found out what is Android OS in details?
Why it takes to many power?
P.S. I guess that bug is triggered by programs like Google maps,
but can't definitely confirm it.
Is there a way to shut off maps till needed?
Get spare parts and you can check what is using what. It could also be useful to get watchdog or similar app to check if you have any apps gone crazy. It isn't unusual though that the screen usage is lower if you just haven't actually used the phone that much as the percentage is always 100% and is divided among the things that used the battery, thus the usage percent doesn't imply mA usage.

I have still pretty high "Android OS".
Display 31%
Android OS 21%
I've tryed Spare parts (Battery history), but it doesn't help.
It just doesn't display such name.
Is there any other way to find out whois is lurking
behind this mysterious title?
I'm betting you have a "suspend process" issue.
What does Battery history from spare parts say? Choose CPU usage, Since last unplugged. Is "suspend" close to the top? What CPU usage details does it have (if you select it)? Obviously look at this data at the end of your phone's battery life, before you plug in.
Also what rom are you using? With cm7 it seems that the battery stats are quite crazy and don't seem to add up to the actual usage, it's been discussed a bit in the nightly thread. The inaccurate stats don't explain the changes in actual battery drain though...
just to be sure, you have usb debugging enabled right?
I'm on official ROM (no root) with USB debugging enabled (I confirm init issue).
My last guess that "Android os" caused by "Location -> Wireless networks".
Now have ~2 days uptime without ever running "Google Maps" and with "Location -> Wireless networks" constantly unchecked.
P.S. Spare parts constantly eats about ~3% CPU at top. Too many for battery monitor. Removed it.

Hey, since you're worried about slight additional CPU-usage and overall performance, you really should consider S-OFFing and getting a different Radio and a custom ROM like ARHD. Or at the very least flash a new kernel, Buzz' kernel did wonders for me.
I have been able to get 28 hours and 3.5+ hours screen on time out of my Galaxy Nexus (OEM extended). I have also barely made 8 hours of battery life. The difference seems to be whether or not Media Storage/Media Server is running. When it is running, I lose 10% battery per hour even if I don't touch the phone. If it is not running, I lose 1% or less of battery per hour (by less I mean I've actually seen my battery remaining INCREASE). I can get 20+ hours of battery life by simply force closing Media Storage, clearing the data used by the process, and rebooting the phone. If I let it run, I need my charger ASAP. I have seen posts about corrupt image files or .dat files. This is a relatively new phone for me so I don't have many of these file types. Could it be possible that one or more are corrupted? Is this the only possible way that Media Server gets into the Wake Lock state? I am running Codebase Android 3.8 and Franco r300 nightly. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
Hello,
I have a very annoying issue with my battery percentage. Typical scenario:
I unplug my phone at 100% after loading it overnight and perform some basic tasks, like for example reading news with Flipboard for a couple of minutes. My percentage already goes down to about 75% to 82% in about 10 minutes. Then I don't use it intensively, only to check the time or messages, so the percentage stays at almost the same amount for hours. When gaming, or performing other more intensive tasks, my percentage almost drops 1 to 2 percent/minute. I get "battery low" warnings at 14% and 4% and then it goes down all the way to 1%. Now I can just continue using my phone like before, for example for gaming, web browsing, for something between 40 minutes and 3 hours.
The issue is obvious: my battery percentage is not calibrated correctly. This has been occuring since more than half a year now. I had many different roms over the years, I can't blame it on one particular one.
Now, I read about a lot of ways to calibrate your phone, so the percentage is accurate again. I have tried a lot one of them. None had any effect. I tried the following:
- wiping battery stats (multiple times)
- completely unloading my phone (restarting it multiple times, boot into bootloader and waited until it just turned off by itself and won't turn on again) and then reloading it (via charger) without interruptions (everything multiple times)
- using the app "Battery Calibration" (deleting batterystats.bin)
- using the app "Battery Monitor Widget" (waited until it shows 0 mAh, then wiping battery stats
- some battery saver app
I also switched batteries with a phone that was purchased at almost the same date as mine (09/2011) and has not been modded in any way. My phone currently runs Jellytime 4.2 R11. I updated it this week, and also wiped battery stats during the installation process at 100% charge.
Any suggestions? Any help is appreciated! Thank you in advance

Easy!
Get a new QUALITY battery.
But maybe that was to obvious for others to respond.
high battery consumption by the Android System / OS? Its always on top. Is there a way to fix it or make it better?
Currently there is no Fix for Android os/Android system battery drain.
By the way its affecting whole Android ecosystem (Lollipop and later versions)
I think here OP can't do anything. Its a Google problem and Google must fix this problem asap with high priority
From screenshot shares by People, those with more sot have comparatively low android system usage. People who claim sot more than 5 hours with stock rom have more battery percent utilized by screen.

I too have low SOT with Android System using most of my battery. I am a light/moderate user though, and I kind of wonder if the high SOT people are just using it with the screen on more than I am, therefore just moving around, connecting to cell, GPS, etc. is eating most of the battery, hence the higher Android System usage. Is that a reasonable explanation?
It's rocketed for me recently. Used to get nearly 5 hours screen time and now I get around 3 or less. Not sure why!

Yes.
I am having the same problem, with Android OS / Android System / Cyanogenmod System using almost as much battery as the screen :/
Running Sultan's Rom, tried installing Mini Gapps, rebooting, flashing cache, complete wipe etc.
Nothing changes the battery drain.
Anyone found a solution?

What's your SOT?
Same issues which seem to be related to these topics:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/help/netscheduler-wakelock-t3471093
But ATM, even HEBF, Amplify or Disable Service fix didn't have solved this drain, for me
I thought it was due to bad signal / no signal in my work area but not. It happens every time with all ROM I have tested (OPLite, FreedomOS with several kernels). For example, I only got 3-5H of SOT in 24h use, with Android OS at the same level as Screen in Battery Stats
Any idea ?
Hi all,
I have a couple questions.
is it normal that other apps use so much battery? in 24 hours it drains around 650 mah, and in 2 hours it drains around 60 mah or so. I attached screenshots showing this (sorry for bad quality and long screenshot)
and sometimes after charging my phone and unplugging it battery percentage doesn't go down for couple of hours. for example with 20 min of screen on time and 2 hours of idle it should go down about 5 percent or so but it doesn't even go down 1 percent.
Using miui 12.5.1
i don't think it's normal at all, I too have noticed excessive battery drain by "other apps" both with the official rom and with xiaomi.eu ROM. I really would like to know what these "other apps" are so that i can disable them because the battery drain is really high on 11 lite.
It's a pity, i like xiaomi.eu ROM but because of the battery drain I decided to change the ROM and now I'm on Xperience ROM who doesn't have this problem but some important features are missing like DT2S and fast charging.
Guys, if anyone has solution for battery drain please share it whis us .
Regarding your problem with the percentage not going down, sorry i can't help you but i never ran into this problem.

Completely agree with that. Just because of that I started to uninstall apps that I use less in order to see if "other" battery usage will decrease.
Same problem here, but I don't have any clue which app causes this behaviour. Someone still on 12.0 with the same issue or is ist 12.5?
after deleting some apps (or after a while) this problem got better. now I have 250 mah in 24 hours on other apps. But now for some reason google play services started to drain much power when not connected to the wifi (or i just realized this now). It drains 1% battery in 1-2 hours when wifi is off but its normal when connected to the wifi. This is an interesting problem as well. any of you encountered it?
