Ampere App Not Working - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the T-Mo version Stock Rooted + TWRP. When I run Ampere to see the charging amperage, it always stuck at "Measuring". Any alternative apps to use? Anyone else have the same issue?

Try please the latest Ampere (v1.55). One problem which probably can cause the "Stuck on Measurement" problem has been corrected in this release.

ROMs and Phone Charging

I feel as though every time I install a custom ROM on this phone, the phone takes forever to charge compared to unrooted stock. I was wondering if there is possibly something wrong with my phone or the CPU settings on the ROM that could cause this to keep happening on my phone? It takes like a good like 2 hours to get up 30%, and that even happens when extreme power saving mode is on. And when all my data consuming apps are greenified. I am currently running NuSense 4.4.3 Version 7.8. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I'm running the same Rom and charged my phone from 0 to 28% in about 30 minutes. It might be a bad charging cable or bad wall base. If you're not using the oem wall base try that. Sometimes cheap wal mart cables cause slow charging as well. If replacing all of that doesn't work then you might have a bad battery.
I'm using this rom: ★ ☆ [ROM][4.4.3] NuSenseSIX | Official Sense 6.0 | KitKat | 6.06.401.1 | m7wlv | Global | V4A | Xposed | Sense 6 Toolbox | Motion Gestures | RC7.2 [06-22-14] ☆ ★ and using the usb cable which came with the phone. Charges with same speed as locked/stock. It charges longer if I leave to drain less then 14%. The most it was charging it was 1 hour and little bit more but again, cause it was drained a lot. Power saver mode went on by itself.
And you're both running nukernel with it too? I've never had slow charging with this build. It sounds like something else is giving the two of you problems. Maybe a governor or your clock speeds.

My kernel is: 3.4.10-NuK3rn3L-4.4.3_v16 [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
Maybe try not using greenify and see if charging still takes that long. While you're at it look at the gpu settings in trickster mod and make cure that the min and max cpu aren't stuck at the highest settings. Also, if you chose to have overclocking as an option in aroma during the flash. Check to make sure that the default max isn't set to whatever you chose the max to be. I really don't know what else to say to help except maybe to flash stock rooted and see if the issue is still present.
I mean I just ran completely stock cpu settings. And the default kernel that came with nusense. Idk. Sometimes it charges fine. Other times it will take hours to charge. Like some nights I'll put the phone on the charge at 30%, sleep 8 hours or so, wake up and look at my phone, and it only says 60%. Like I'm not sure what it is. I've also had this problem before I used greenify
I'm not using any additional apps for my battery and everything is okay with it
Make sure to check the kernel settings with trickster anyway. Especially since you haven't messed with them at all. If you haven't done a full wipe in a while give that a shot as well. If all else fails use a battery monitor such as gsam or better battery stats to make sure you don't have something creating a wake lock.
I'm just a noob but I had a similiar issue a few days ago. Battery was draining quick and charging slow. It ended up being an app that was running even though closed it, had to go to app manager and force close the app. No issues with charging afterwards.
To remove the possibility of third party apps being the culprit, just reboot into safe mode (A PM options has it). Then do a test charge. I am fairly certain it is an app causing your issue, everything you say it isn't, just think of the apps Google restores from the play store upon logging in on first boot.

That's kind of why I suggested getting a battery monitor before. It will tell you exactly what app or even if the kernel is using up to much juice. Safe mode will tell you for sure if it is an app but you'll never be able to figure exactly which app.

Fast charging

Does anyone know any third party applications that can prevent fast charging from working? I put phone in safe mode and it fast charges fine. Any help will be appreciated. I'm using Darth stalkers version 5 rom with arter 4.3 kernel.

I'm having battery problems

A long time ago for an unexplained reason my phone froze at 17%. It hold more power then that, but Android is frozen at that number. When the device is off and I first plug it in then it only shows 17%.
It's been like this for a year. I've done various things, like factory reset. Tried draining and fully charging battery many times. No luck. I was told I should get the battery replaced. I may still do that.
I just recently installed twms. I noticed it actually has the proper battery %. What is making twms check different then Android?
I have the last version of Android for pixel 3 xl. My phone is rooted but I don't have any mods installed. Is there something I can do to have Android read the battery the same way that twms does? Would a new kernel fix this? Please point me in the right direction?
I do not know what Twms is but it seems something wrong with rom itself. Did you tried wiping everything and clean flash stock rom ? Maybe some files gets corrupted.
Also can you try any battery app that report battery voltage ? If it is reported correctly at least you can say battery is ok..

I am having the same problem as you, only in my case I am stuck at 1% when I restart in TWRP if it shows me the correct percentage, I have tried with different roms (custom - stock) and different kernels I still have the same problem.
I have noticed that when accessing the root of the system (any rom) in the address or path "sys/class/power_supply/battery" and I open the "battery" file with a text editor there if I see the real value of the load of my battery
I have been meaning to post an update to this thread. I found a workable solution for me with tasker. You can download it for free at (https://taskernet.com/shares/?user=...GsgjEQmPWd4nGTxTaKorB2&id=Project:BatteryInfo)
