So. Id like to use the Uverse app. Once logged in it requests root. Obviously it doesn't need it. I may have accidently granted root the first time, but have since in installed it and reinstalled it.
How can I hide root? I was aware of rootcloak...but it rarely worked for Google Play Movies and the like, and since the Xposed framework isn't really around, that isn't an option.
Whats the work around for Google Play Movies? I assume it works for the Uverse as well.
I can't find anything that doesn't require Xposed.
Please can I ask you use the forum properly, you are a senior member, but are creating Q&A voting threads for standard questions. Unless you are asking a question requiring a specific answer and want votes on the answer then please just post the thread as a standard post. Your thread will still appear in the Q&A forum as normal.

Hello, this is the only vBulletin forum that I browse(I'm more of a SMF guy, I use it and develop for it) and I can't find the place where I can see new topics in which I have participated(Tapatalk does this for this forum). Is there a link where I can see the new topics?

A couple of things you can do:
1
Subscribe to threads you are interested in and receive email notification of new posts being added.
2
Bookmark your profile page http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=1153710 and in there go to the statistics tab>Find all posts by. Then by clicking on your posts you can see if there have been any replies.
Not sure if these links might work also:
Find all posts by Dragooon123
Find all threads started by Dragooon123

im using subscription witout email, means i can go to my user cp and i see all threads i subscripted that have new posts
so i dont get too many emails but see all new replys..
The question is,
why does the XDA app offer this feature,
but the full version of the board does not?
I could theoretically run an emulator, run the XDA android app, and use this forum MORE efficiently than actually turning on a laptop. I use the 'participated' area every single day.
That seems backward. There has to be a way to pull this data to a web browser, if it can be pulled to an Android phone.

You should set your usercp so that it will automatically subscribe to threads you reply to (without notification)
Then go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription&folderid=all to view them.

Sorry to dredge up an old topic, but I haven't found an answer to the same question, and this is the only time I have seen it have replies. Finding threads posted by a user will not do the same thing, the participated thread button in the tapatalk or xda app does. One should not have to subscribe to every thread either, that would be pointless considering that is for threads you REALLY want to follow.
The information is accessible to the app, which means ultimately it would be easy to implement on the website, and it is counter productive you can only find it in app. The best answer I have is find the posts in the app, but if I have to post something longer, or with links, I have to find the thread on the website.
As popular as this site is, this feature would improve quite a bit.. people(maybe more noobs) would actually follow threads they've posted questions on, so the replies aren't a waste of time. How many threads have multiple people asked for more details and the OP never replies.. Subscribing to threads would only work on any new posts, and some of my oldest ones I would still want to know activity for. This all seems obvious.
A: Having a posting requirement for new users. I understand it cuts down on the "how do i root my phone" posts, but it seems just as bad to require 10 posts in a non-dev section before allowing new users to post in the dev section.
My real issue is that yelp does on work on the virtuous g2 rom. I noticed other people were having the same issue, and I would like to reply to them and let others know that this is a problem. But I have to get 10 posts first. Awesome.
10 posts is not alot...
Get yourself started with this thread. Lol.
[G2/HTC Vision]
I am having the same problem with Yelp. Whenever I open Yelp using Virtuous 0.9 it force closes upon opening the application.

If your looking for an answer to your problem with yelp FC's on the Virtuous 0.9.0, I seriously doubt that it will get much attention or a solution posting under a thread titled "[Q] Do you know what's dumb?" You might try posting in the Virtuous thread.
its pretty dumb that you wasted a thread on this, actually. haha. they want members to actively participate. 10 posts is not alot at all.
there are TONS of ways to participate on XDA to get 10 posts. share your screenshot or some wallpapers - there's 2. Go check out the Q&A section - surely there's something you can contribute to in there.
I realize it's frustrating, but the point isn't to annoy and frustrate new users - it's to prevent new users from annoying and frustrating people who are contributing to the community in general. It's also to encourage new people to participate and contribute in ways other than bug reporting/issue reporting. Not that bug/issue reporting isn't important, but if you come on here, report your bug, and then leave, the community gains nothing. If you join in some of the more community-building threads, the community gains a valuable member.

You know what's dumb?
A: Thinking it's cool to post "how do I root my phone" in the dev section. Nuff said.
Anyway, yelp not working isn't something that belongs in the dev section and I'm sure they know they're not alone in that issue, they don't need you to clutter a thread with 'hey, me too!!'. I'm sure there will be a solution to the issue and in the meantime I'd just use the website.
I'm not a ROM developer, but I am an app developer... question for my fellow devs.
Android recently killed the use of MODIFY_PHONE_STATE for any third party app (only system apps can use it now)... which effectively kills the ITelephony.aidl hack many of us have been using.
I opened an enhancement request to restore functionality for 2.3.x and bring a better solution to the table for Android 2.3+ but Android just closed it with a "Working As Designed" tag.
Any thoughts on where to go next? It seems they aren't even willing to discuss alternative solutions.

I fail to understand why. This is a developer specific question, and will only confuse most folks (non-developers) who read the Q&A section.
Like the topic says, how is it done? Is there a way to set it by default in my control panel?
I would like this forum to mirror the functionality I get in other forums, where any post you make will show up in your "subscribed" threads list. As is stands now, I have made a few posts (which had replies) and they never appear in that list. How as I supposed to follow threads that way?
Moved to About XDA section.
Click here, and change the Default Thread Subscription Mode to something other than "Do Not Subscribe".
Thank you so much for that. God, I don't know why I didn't try that a LONG time ago, that will make using this site SOO MUCH easier. No longer do I need to do searches all the time just to see what I posted (because I forget easy)... This may even make me a more productive member of (xda) society
I say, this option should be default behavior, but again maybe it is and not knowing I changed it for some reason.... alas.
I've disabled all of mine except those i recognize. I would really prefer that it would ask me to allow it whenever one popped up. One of these seems to allow Google Play, but its not obvious which one it is (which is stupid).
Does anyone know which one (or group) is for Google Play?
Thanks
