Sprint Direct Connect Now APK Released

Sprint made a formal announcement today about the new Sprint Direct Connect Now App in the android market which can be found here

Anyone seen this APK floating around online? I would love to give this a whirl on my device and see if its possible to get it working on our devices.

I couldn't find anything but I will keep an eye on it and if I find it I will post it if someone didn't already.

Yeah ive been scouring google for anything pertaining to an updated apk but everything I found just links me to old threads and the play store link. We dont have a kyocera rise in stock so I cant pull it myself.

Ill try to go into a Sprint store and see if i can download and then extract the apk file. Hope it works on our android devices =). Doesn't make any sense for Sprint to release this app only to the Kyocera Rise. It's an android app, should be compatible with all android phones. Stupid Sprint! Been waiting for this for years!

According to sprint a Direct Connect SOC has to be added to an account before you can use it. Not sure if this will be an issue with adding the SOC to a non supported device. I would like to have the application and then add the SOC to my account to further test

No problem i will try to get this apk to you and we work something out. Would know what folder the apk would get saved to? I think it should be in system/data? or sys/data? I forgot havn't extracted apk files in like 2 years. Do you know?

If you have root its in System/App not sure what the procedure would be for non root devices. I'm still trying to find out how to get the apk without the suspect device.

Since its a downloadable app from the market you could easily pull the apk. No need for root. Ill grab it when I get back to work around 6. Or you could pull the build.prop and change your device fingerprint to the rise to download the apk. I tried searching for a system dump for the build.prop but came up dry.

Not compatible on the GS3 so it doesn't even show up in the Play Store and will not allow a web install from the Play site.

Yes I am aware of this but I have that issue alot with many apps because its not listing the device as compatible. Doesnt mean that it may not work. I have this issue with some apps so I install it on a compatible device and pull it to install on the "incompatible" device.

i really hope they get this app on ALL ANDROID Sprint devices it help with my compnay we wont need two phones now ^^

hmm so this would be free for me. i have a sprint everything plan and under my account i see:

Unlimited Group Connect
funny how it's included, but a feature i can't use.. anyone have APK working yet? wonder if you would have to keep the app always running (battery killer) for people to PTT you? hope it's not like zello where you have to be logged in and app running 24/7 rather than some type of Push service.

Sorry I was unable to get the apk today. The sprint store did not have a working display of the Kyocera rise. I will try another store tomorrow.

Im very interestes in getting this working. Hopefully someone can provide this apk asap. Thank you in advance to whomever does.

From what I've seen / read it there is something extra on the Rise and the LG that has the App. Also the SOC is restricted to the two phones so even if you got the app to load it would have no UFMI (or w/e the SDC equilivant is) to tie into, or attempt to provision on it. Thus no Go I think if it worked on other phones, it would be out

If it is a Play Store installable then it may have APK go directly to Data/App which u cannot view directly from the device. If it goes to System/App u can always browser through System/App folder and actually copy ANYTHING from the System folder to another location on the device. Pasting and editing is what u cant do inside of the System folder but copying allowed.

[Q] Does anyone know safe to remove bloatware list on KitKat T-mobile Note 3?

I'm currently trying to remove useless junk from my note and improve battery life. I found debloat scripts for AT&T and International Note 3 but could find any for T-mobile Note 3
Since debloater scrpit is not available for T-mobile Note 3 does anyone know safe to remove bloatware list on KitKat?

If you use the app 'Clean Master' it will give you a list of all of the pre-installed or 'bloatware' apps on your phone, and then a recommendation of whether to keep it installed or if it's okay to delete. I found that app to be the most effective for what you're trying to do.

if you type clean master in the play store it should be the first app to show up, the Icon is a picture of like a broom with a blue handle. It ranks 4.7 with over a million downloads.

I would go with uninstall master unistaller it will convert the bloat ware apps to user apps for easy removal and does great job as free app.

Trust me, I am trying. I am actually in the same position myself, have been borrowing nano SIM to test. But Letv's 2 SIM functionality is heavily integrated in system, so it's proving to be quite difficult (at least for me). Hopefully, I'll get there eventually, and if I find a way to switch the default SIM slot to micro, I will of course let you know.

System is about 700 mb at the moment, but I haven't stripped it down yet. Figured it was easier to make everything work and then remove unused stuff.

Woooow, that is a huge improvement over the 1,6gigs eui eats up. Nice man, good work and it is not even finished yet!

I try it but in my phone the 3G/4G don't work; i set apn but only 2G (i use the nano SIM)

That's odd.. I have both 3G and 4G working without any APN modification.
PS. Bluetooth is fixed in next version.

I'm running the ROM right know, and i really like it. I am using an micro sim card, and im getting signal but cant use it somehow. If the radio is working i will try it as daily driver. So far im very impressed !
Edit: When i try to restore apps with titanium backup, i get the message: storage full. But if i install it using play store, it isnt a problem.

Interesting, perhaps we are not too far way from getting the 2 SIM functionality to work then.
About the installing of apps outside of Play Store, you are right I will add this to bug list. I get INSUFFICIENT STORAGE error, which is laughable when you have 50 GB free

Youtube Adblock for Nougat?

I was wondering if there was a way to block ads on youtube that would work on nougat? I used to have the xposed module on 6.0.1 but since xposed does not work on nougat, I cannot do that. If anyone has a solution that would be very appreciated!

If anyone is interested this did not work on my rooted pixel XL on nougat 7.1.1
Update: I made it work by putting the folder into /system/priv-app and then renaming the app to just YouTube. Then I used TWRP to change the folder permissions to 755 and the apps permissions to 644 thanks to the advice of another user.

Just rooted my Pixel 6 pro and was trying to find a way to get unlimited Google Photos storage but none of the methods I used before work on this device. Does anyone know how I can get the unlimited storage (or if it's even possible).
* I tried the props editor method which did not work as the props that I needed to edit did not exist (or maybe its different)
* The other method where you place a nexus file in the root directory was not possible as the root directory was full, even after deleting some system apps.
UPDATE - The pixelify magisk module is the solution (thanks taanh1412 !)

I thought all Google Pixel phones get unlimited Google Photos? Or do you lose that feature when you root?

Unfortunately only the devices up to the pixel 5 have unlimited storage, from the pixel 5a they stopped giving unlimited storage.

Do you have the the backup set to Orignal Quality and do ou have Google One/Extended Google drive?
I have subscription for google drive (100GB) but no Magic Eraser after installing Pixelify

Magic Eraser is available with Google One subscription on all devices (including non-Pixels). No need for anything else.
Unlimited Original Quality backup is available ONLY on Pixel 1 (the 1st Pixel). The others until Pixel 5 get unlimited storage at 'Storage Saver' quality.

I flashed Pixelify and have now Unlimited Original Quality on my Pixel 7 Pro. And I have Google One subscription, which in theory should provide the Magic Eraser, but this does not happen. I my GPhotos app is version 6.34, so it up to date.

May be they are rolling out this (server side) feature in a phased manner. You'll have to wait for sometime before it shows up on your device.
