Phone came with unlocked bootloader?

so kinda bothersome....but not really i dont guess....was following directions on droidlife to unlock bootloader. Noticed it said bootloader unlocked but went on anyway. typed fastboot oem unlock and it says error, already unlocked. Guess my nexus shipped already unlocked? Is this possible?
also under signing it says engineering....one in droid life photo says production....anybody else?

You have a protoype or dev phone. I have one as well. It doesn't really make a difference because these bootloaders can be locked again (I think).

Not sure about you, but I wouldn't enjoy having an engineering model. Never know what could happen in the future depending on how new or old it is. Where did you get it from?

I purchased from verizon store yesterday.....build date of 11/18 I think it said

So you are saying that from the very first boot you had the white unlock icon on the startup screen where it says GOOGLE in white?
I doubt you got a dev or proto...
maybe someone returned one? or maybe ur sales rep unlocked it for you (lol)
if it bothers you return it and unlock it yourself lol

probably not.. still weird how they sold a "engineering model" as retail though

yea im thinking I might just return it and get a production model....what would ya'll do?

I bought my nexus in Germany (Saturn stores). I just found out that my GN was also unlocked. I never flashed a phone before so i was not sure what to make out of it.
And indeed now that you say it the white GOOGLE text has come up on boot from the first time i booted him.
So any cool things i can do with a dev phone? Any disadvantages?

check about phone and see if under model # it says Galaxy Nexus (ENGINEER) like mine does...

Htc one x sim free/pay as you go

I want to get a one x so I am wondering if any of you guys got the one x on pay as you go or sim free and what price? I was going to get it from three but I didn't want to pay the £15 pay as you go sim as I am on a monthly contract with them.

Available here for £430 on T-mobile PAYG from mobiles phone direct, but I believe all phones are actually sim free and unbranded.
Plus £5 quidco available, making it £425.

I got a phone from them a while ago, seemed OK to me...think it's owned by CPW

I tried to ask them through live chat, they told me is branded with T-mobile and sim locked....
But some people said they won't locked.
You can have a go....

I shall have a look there.

They just emailed me back saying it will come branded
Pretty sure it was Dial-A-Phone I used last time and as they're CPW it was a SIM-free handset with the SIM card thrown in

does anyone know if a virgin mobile sim work in this if it is sim locked. Also its is available in white and at the moment t mobile are only supplying black on contract

I think a virgin sim will work. Not 100% sure.

[Q] Sim unlock (still not possible)

Hey,
for me the version rooted is minor important than the remove of the simlock. Will there be a chance to find a way to remove it as in "http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/free-sim-unlock-via-nvdata-bin-sgs3-t1715149" via hex ?
I would try it if anybody knows a way - even if I brick it!

I contacted Amazon Germany and they told me the phones were locked by the German Telekom and that there is nothing they can do. So I contacted the German Telekom and they told me I have to pay 99,90 € to unlock them, although I use SIM cards for the D1 net (the net which is provided by the German Telekom), but since there were sold by 3rd party discount providers, they don't feel responsible. Now I am in a desperate need for a solution. I am now trying to unlock the phones with a Telekom SIM card to use the other cards afterwards. I'll keep you posted about new developments.

A shame. I know Amazon UK were doing codes but maybe only for phones bought from them.

If you contact amazon directly they will give you unlock code, I've got one from them on my o2 locked fire phone.

Ordered a Pixel from Verizon yesterday, on the truck for delivery today...

What are the chances that the bootloader will be unlockable? My idiot self didn't do the research before buying and didn't realize that the Verizon version can't be unlocked once it's it 7.1.1. Anyone recently get one that was able to be unlocked?

Got mine yesterday, still on 7.1 and it unlocked without a hitch

Damn bro, I'm sorry.
The one I ordered came with 7.1.0 the October update. I bootloader unlocked it as fast as I could. Could not be happier.

Did you get it at a VZ store? They updated it. If you got it shipped to you, I don't see how it could have the February update on it already.

Just ordered mine today and it shipped out already. They said it wouldn't ship for a couple weeks. I hope it has 7.1!

EVR-L29 authentic and not modded?

Owned EVR-L29 twice and both times phone came sealed and had us charger in box. Just repurchased one from AliExpress and a little concerned. Box wasn't sealed, European charger was in box and when I turned on home screen had different icons , an optimiser icon that was never in previous home screen phones. Is there a way to tell that this is a true EVR-L29 model that hasn't been modded as concerned it won't get updates or it's a Chinese model that was modded and re-packaged. Anyone help?

The app is called Optimiser now. Before it called something else. Like phone manager I forgot.

Bear in mind that Huawei ceased production of the mate 20x I believe in March or April 2019. So those would be the last build dates. Serial number will show dates.
