I was editing build.prop on my LG G4 H811. It's currently stuck on the T-Mobile logo and my computer cannot recognize it when it's plugged in. I can access the stock recovery, and I tried resetting, twice, but it still comes back to the T-Mobile logo. Is there any way I can reset or replace the build.prop file? Please help!
EDIT: So I was able to get to download mode. How can I access the filesystem from here?
Also if anyone has a stock build.prop from their G4 h811 please upload it, I'd really appreciate it.
extract the build. prop from the attached 7z file....

Hello!
I'm also having this problem. I've been scouring the web and xda to figure out how to create my own build.prop to reflash, but still haven't figured out how to do it. I have a LG G4 Verizon VS986. I do not have a custom recovery. I am stuck in a boot loop, unable to get past the LG screen. I'm still very new to all of this btw, but I'm trying my best to read every source to try and get this fixed, so please bear with me!
I assume I'll use the LG Flash Tool found from this thread to flash the zip file back to my phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848
I do have a copy of my original build.prop saved as well. The directory to the build.prop file I believe was in the root folder > system folder. I am not familiar enough with the META-INF to script my own flashable zip file (if that will even work).
I have tried using adb and flashboot, but neither have been able to detect my device.
Please help!! :crying::crying::crying: And thank you!
EDIT: So I went ahead and decided to use the FlashTool in the link, but I flashed to stock. I chose "Normal Flash" instead of "CSE Flash" and after a few errors and retries, my phone was back up and running with all my files still available. The only thing I had to do was reroot my phone. I hope this information helps someone else too!

Hey Guys,
First post and i already got a problem because i messed up very much
I used to have Cyanogenmod 11 on my Optimus G, but i got several crashes and i wasnt completely fine with it so i wanted to try something new. So i updated my bootloader from CWM to TWRP and wanted to flash Artmod 5.2 Rom. I was a bit fast with my wiping, so i accidentally wiped the whole phone, so that everything was gone: Cyanogenmod, new Artmod rom i wanted to flash just everything.
I read a bit and thought it shouldnt be a problem then to just sideload the new rom, which i tried to do. I used adb sideload to put Artmod on the phone, everything was fine, flashing went through but i got stuck at the LG boot logo at the start of the phone. I waited like 30 minutes and nothing did change, so i thought something was not right.
I then just wanted to go back to cyanogenmod, tried to flash that through the adb sideload procedure but i got an error which said "error executing updater binary in zip 'tmp/sideload.zip'".
I was kinda thinking something really messed up so i tried to revert the phone to stock rom with the correct KDZ file i searched with the tool linked in the FAQ, everything downloaded but when i tried to flash the KDZ it gave me an error like this:
"12:03:59 Launching SW update
12:03:59 Unpacking KDZ
12:05:10 KDZ file extracted
12:05:11 Extract file error
12:05:13
===FINISH===="
So i searched the forums again and noticed that it should be a problem with the KDZ updater tool because the KDZ file was too big to get flashed properly. I wanted to try the LG Flash Tool 2014 then which is provided here in the forums and should work, it extracted the KDZ file, then opened the LG Mobile Support Tool to flash the file on the phone but there i start to get errors again, it either said that i am already on the correct up to date software version or that i need to disconnect the USB cable, remove the battery, insert it again, restart and try again.
I used several tools for that, i even tried it with an offline method that i found in a german forum, but every method got me the same errors, so i couldn't even go back to stock anymore.
I once tried to flash Cyanogenmod then again when i realized that the error message also told me "This Rom is for a "E975", this is a "GEE"" which i did not completely understand because it should be the total same? I edited the Updater-Script in the Zip file of the rom then and removed the part where it checks for that (1st line actually), then the rom did flash properly, phone started to boot (Cyanogenmod Boot Logo was shown) but when the boot was over i got the message:
"Type Password to Decrypt Storage" with a keyboard to enter the password. (I did never set up any password for that).
Now i am completely confused what i can do the recover my phone, either to stock or just to another rom, every method i tried did not work and i dont have any other ideas.
I can go into Fastboot, Recovery and Downloadmode, but when i tried to wipe again in Recovery it says that it cant mount my data mount point (probably because the storage is encrypted).
Somebody told me to do a hard reset with the keys "Volume down and power" which i tired several times, but everything i get is just the Google boot logo and then happens nothing or i get the Google logo, then the LG logo but after that i get stuck again, I cant seem to go into the "Hard Reset" menu which i should get into with that keys.
Anybody can help me what I could try or got a solution for this? I would be very thankful. I don't wanna loose my phone

Flash Tool 2014 works great for me every time, so try it again. Make sure you disconnect from the Internet before running it (yank out your LAN cable, or disable your WiFi), so it doesn't attempt to connect to LG servers. And don't forget to put your KDZ file in the same directory with the tool. It should go through just fine. That's by far the easiest method to revert back to stock, to get you to a clean starting point.

Umm... No, they are not the same. E975 is "geehrc", and there is no such OEM ID as "gee". There are many different OG variants. For the cross-reference between the models and OEM IDs, you can look here. Generally, you should stick to the ROMs that are designed for your model, unless you know exactly what you are doing, when trying to flash a ROM from a different platform.

Well i tried Flash Tool 2014 again and seem to get the same error that wants me to disconnects as it stops at the same position like it always did, also doesn't matter if I am connected to the internet or not, everytime it doesn't run through. This time I couldn't even read the stuff that was written in the LG Mobile Support tool because it only shows "????".
Heres a Screenshot:
The settings i made should be the right ones I think, the phone does get recognized by the computer when i plug it in because of the sound that windows makes.
I clearly dont't know what I can try anymore...
And according to the roms: well i only used roms for the E975, which is exactly my phone model, thats why i was wondering about that error message i got
Artmod is for E975, the CM11 was for E975, i even tried Mokee rom but i always got same error messages...
Nobody got another idea? I really am confused because if i can enter downloadmode and recovery there should be a way to get my phone back working.
Anybody knows where i can get maybe some older KDZ Files to go to 4.1.2 Stock rom and try to flash these?
problem

I don't know why you are seeing "???", but here is a couple of things regarding the settings, based on your screenshot:
1. Type should be CDMA (yours is 3GQCT).
2. PhoneMode should be DIAG (yours is CS_EMERGENCY).
3. I would suggest using CSE Flash for a full format (you are using Normal Flash).
Remember, this is a hacked tool, so the settings might not make perfect sense, comparing to the original ones. Just try following the instructions in the OP of the Flash Tool 2014 thread. Like I said, works every time for me...

I just tried the settings you told and used CSE Flash which worked out really well.
No i am back to 4.4.2 LG Stock rom. I think the root is gone now, but one thing i wanna ask is if my bootloader is still unlocked and custom recovery is still on it?
Anyway, thank you so so much! I appreciate your help! Thank you!

Glad to hear you are back in business. After flashing KDZ, the root is definitely gone, your BL is locked, and the recovery is stock. You will need to do all the necessary steps again: root, unlock the BL and flash custom recovery.
Hey guys, I need your help!
I tried to make my long story short, but that didn't work, so here's my complete story:
When everything was fine, I had CM13 running with TWRP 2.8.5.0.
My first intention was to restore a Stock 4.4 Backup and update it to 5.x. After restoring it didn't boot, so I did a factory reset and it worked.
Next I wanted to update to 5.0 via OTA, but that ofc couldn't work because of TWRP.
I knew the only way to update to 5.x was to flash a .kdz an lose all data. I didn't want to do that, so instead I tried to flash the official 30B image from here.
I followed the instructions given in the first post (updated TWRP to 2.8.7.0 too), but after flashing the files and hitting the "reboot system" button in TWRP it booted into TWRP again. I tried flashing again because maybe something went wrong. I even downloaded all the files again to make sure I didn't have a bad download, but no luck. So I restored the previous CM13 6.0.1 rom. At first it didn't succeed because my internal memory was full, but after deleting the 30B files it restored just fine. So when it was ready I hit the reboot button aaaannd it booted into TWRP AGAIN...
I searched the internet and found a "LG_G3_Flash2FixStuckRecovery.zip" file, but that didn't help either. (I connected my G3 to my pc using MTP in TWRP to backup all important data, so I don't care if I need to wipe everything.)
Now I knew something went badly wrong and tried using the LG flashtool 2014 for .kdz and another one for .tot files to recover my G3.
Still no luck. When using the 2014 tool and the official 30B kdz it runs till 100% at my phone (at the same time it reaches 80% on my pc at the LG mobile support tool). But then it's only showing the LG logo for some seconds, screen black, lg logo, black, ... an infinite loop.
When using the .tot method I can't get past the "Model Information Check FAIL!" message. It looks like I lost my IMEI because it shows "IMEI: NULL". I got an EFS Backup in a zip file though, so it's not completely lost. I tried both methods on 2 different pc's with win 8.1 and 7 (and win10 for some things), but I always get the same results.
When turning it on using the power button, I see the LG logo followed by a black screen and again the LG logo.
When connecting it to the charger I at first see a charging screen, not the charging animation, but the "loading" battery screen you get before the animation. But after it I get stuck in the above mentioned LG logo.
It's possible to get to the factory reset screen, but I get to the LG logo again after "performing" a factory reset. Note: On the factory reset screen, there is a blue "part" on the top of the screen which looks different compared to when using CM13 and Stock 4.4. The blue color is darker, so I guess, I partly got 30B installed.
I didn't plan to write that much, but I think it's better because I described almost everything I did.
I have no idea what to do now, I tried everything I know and could find on the internet.
So I just hope someone is able to help me getting my G3 working again.
Many thanks!

OK.... Now, you flash TOT again with TOT file.... but dont change file DLL you have....
Download... file DLL fix...
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0VrTZddvLF7b3Q1b1BlQ2w0clE/view?usp=sharing
Also don't forget: Maybe its because of your OS or even Setup (Hardware/Driver related). Even if it works seemingly at first glance.
That's my experience with all flashing tools that on some machines and setups there will happen some funny stuff and corrupt systems even if its reported to be working initially.
So if you didn't try yet use another PC/Laptop preferably with Windows 7 to 8.0 (only if you disabled driver signatures)
Edit: Also try different USB-Cables.

Don't do it. I have the AS986 version too and it will not work. What happens is that it will boot, then quickly for about two seconds flash a warning that says LG Security Issue or something like that, and then you will see the Verizon boot animation. Then, about a minute later it just randomly shuts off. It will do this every time you try to boot the phone. Luckily, before I did this root procedure, I created a backup image and just flashed that the same way I did the root method and my phone was back to normal. Still no root though.

I do still have the backup but I'm not sure if it would work or not. I'm not sure (you probably can) if you can transfer files using download mode or Send_Command Mode. The file is also 4.18GB so I'll provide a link when I do get this uploaded. But if all else fails this is what I did when one of my backups didn't work (I have the AS986 Version by the way): MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE AS986 OR THE VS986 BEFORE DOING THIS. I'M ALSO NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR DEVICE BY FOLLOWING THIS GUIDE.
When you messed yours up, were you on 11a or 10b? If you were on 11a, go ahead and try this. If you were on 10b, I'm not sure what to do. Sorry.
1. You should use this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848
2. When you go to download the KDZ you'll notice that the AS986 KDZ isn't there. Just download the VS98611a KDZ. It's close enough.
3. Follow the guide that I gave you in step 1.
4. You should bootup like nothing happened.
Somethings may be different because you flashed a Verizon KDZ but at least you have your phone back right?
This worked for me but it may be different for you.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE AS986 OR THE VS986 BEFORE DOING THIS. I'M ALSO NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR DEVICE BY FOLLOWING THIS GUIDE.

Also, as a side note, stay away from the Verizon Updater. It hard bricked my G4. (I sent it in for repair already) So just resort to the safe LG Bridge Updater.
I rooted an AS986 the other day by injecting the phone's system image with root on Linux, and flashed in download mode. Did not use the Verizon image or KDZ.

That's what I did too.
I have rooted all my phones.
I was following a tutorial to root my LG and instead of flashing TWRP I was advised to boot TWRP which I did (fastboot boot recovery.img)
Using TWRP in that mode I flased supersu.zip, then phone went into a loop.
Not sure where I ended up
When I enter "adb devices" it shows my G4 as offline.
How can I move from this point please ?
Hi guys?
Any ideas ? Please.

if you can enter download mode vol up connect usb then download corresponding KDZ file and flash with LGUP using the refurbihsed option. good luck
adb offline means you have to accept the popup on the phone when connecting to the phone from that pc. If your screen is not accesible then you have to flash the kdz as mentioned above.
Next time, when you enable the USB debug, also connect to the pc and answer that popup. and you should be good.
Thanks guys
Are you sure I would be able to flash KDZ ?
I flashed supersu.zip without TWRP installed and now when I turn on my phone, LG logo shows up but boot process isn't progressing.
Probably too early for PC to detect mobile and I suspect thtats why it shows offline in adb...
I'm very cautious about guide/how-to I follow now. If you have any links on flashing KDZ that you could share I would appreciate.
Also - what will flashing KDZ do exactly ? Flash new system directly to /system partition ? (just trying understand)
If using LG UP you can choose Upgrade that will only write the system, or choose Refurbish, this will erase /data so you will end up fresh. It depends on what you want.
I am sorry for late reply. Very busy week, and needed to sleep a bit...
Fortunately LGUP is working. I have Uk version of my G4 (exactly H815 unbranded. No more info under battery).
- How can I be sure I am getting correct KZD file?
I'm downloading H81520D_00_0115.kdz but never used those and I don't want to flash wrong one...
I have found also H81520h_00_-516.kdz.
Don't want to be a pest but... if it's a matter of quick google search for you - could you be so kind and drop correct link for me ?
I cannot check anything with phone in this state

V20h is newer so you should flash that. If you go to general threads section you will see that there is v20l that is even newer than v20h, and is from UK. Happy flashing
Edit: here you go with the link to the new firmware thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3480887
OK, I'm not sure what is the problem here but thanks to your advise I restored system. Everything was working fine. Then I installed TWRP. Then using TWRP I flashed UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip and then... phone wen to the same loop as it was before.
Could it be some incompatibility of supersu ? Or perhaps I need some kernel or other items. Or perhaps other root manager ?
Ok, found the problem. On Marshmallow flashing supersu will not work - I flashed pre-rooted kernel and works like a charm. Just a shame I had to spend half of my sunday flashing, erasing, backing up, restoring, etc.
Thanks for your help guys!
I was trying to downgrade my G3 to the original stock firmware (for rooting) following this guide: (androidexplained.com/downgrade-lg-g3/), and my phone became stuck at stage 2 and will not proceed. I've tried every solution I could find to fix the problem, but nothing has worked. For some reason it appears that the phone is not reconnecting to the serial port anymore, so the LG flash tool can't connect. I can't get the phone into download mode to start again, and I can't get the process to resume from where it is at. I was able to re-enable the recovery menu using the JTAG shorting trick, but I can't find any compatible firmware images to flash through ADB. If anyone knows how to fix this, or knows where I can find a ZV4 update zip, then I would greatly appreciate it!

I have the LS990 (Sprint).
When I was stuck in Factory Reset Status 2, I was not able to boot into recovery mode or download mode, but I was able to use this tutorial: (reddit.com/r/LGG3/comments/41wbo3/how_to_unhardbrick_your_lg_g3_jtag/) to renable recovery mode. However, I still cannot access download mode, or else I would use the LG Flash Tool.
I have tried to sideload several roms via adb. Most of them say "E:footer verification failed. E: signature verification failed." All of those were zip files with a single .tot inside. I found one zip that was different (it had a bunch of system images inside). The error I got when trying to sideload that zip was:
"Package expects build fingerprint of lge/g3_spr_us/g3:4.4.2/KVT49L.LS990ZV6/LS990ZV6.1415360315:user/release-keys or lge/g3_spr_us/g3:5.0.1/LRX21Y/150221743942c:user/release-keys; this device has lge/g3_spr_us/g3:4.4.2/KVT49L.LS990ZV4/LS990ZV4.1403169216:
E:Error in /tmp/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted".
I think this means I found a zip with the right contents inside, but it's the wrong update. If someone knows where to find the correct zip to sideload I believe that would fix the problem. I found this zip here: (twitter.com/utoprime/status/569984569195282432)
Regarding the JTAG exploit I used to get recovery mode back, most tutorials say I should also have download mode back, but I don't. If I were somehow able to get download mode back, then I could use the LG Flash Tool to fix it.
