Ok so i just tried to download the newest CWM from the kindle fire utility and when i tried to do that it got stuck in what i think is fastboot but i'm not sure. Has the little android guy above the name "Kindle Fire". Tried turning off the device and power back on but it is still stuck and nothing is working. Adb doesn't recognize my device either. Any help would be really appreciated. Here is what it looks like - http://db.tt/gd59KBHe
Type "fast boot devices" in a command prompt and see what you get
sent from my ever evolving kindle fire
Code:
C:\Users\urweb3>fastboot devices
C:\Users\urweb3>
Thats all it did
Did you open the command prompt where you have fast boot installed on PC ie. Sdk/tools/
sent from my ever evolving kindle fire
Yes and nothing is recognizing my device
OK
Try this.
1/ turn of kindle
2/open command prompt where you have fast boot on your PC.
3/ type the following. Fast boot -i 0x1949 one idme boot mode 4000
4/ press enter (it should say waiting for device)
5/ then switch on kindle
6/ fast boot -i 0x1949 reboot(this should reboot your kindle(if not then your not getting fast boot.
Let me know what happens
Edit.. it should be OEM after 0x1949 not "one"

Windows is not detecting your Kindle Fire properly. The "fastboot devices" should return some alphanumeric characters if the drivers have properly loaded and your device is really in fastboot mode. You need to make sure the right drivers are loading or fastboot commands are useless.
Read this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552547
Pay particular attention to the second post because you NEED to get your drivers working right first. Then the correct fastboot command is...
Code:
fastboot oem idme bootmode 4000
You don't need the "-i 0x1949" if you have the FIREFIREFIRE bootloader and "bootmode" is one word.

GOT it working. Ignore all posts. Thanks to Everyone!!!!
Did you get the latest FireFireFire as well? ClockworkMid recovery requires a fastboot such as firefirefire.
Try the kindle fire unbrick utility first before anything.
Here, try this.
1. Power on the kindle.
2. While the kindle fire logo and the android logo are on the screen, Try to boot into recovery by holding three power button until the screen goes black. Then, let go. Let it sit for about two-ten seconds, and it should boot into cwm recovery.
3. Select "factory reset/ wipe data option, and after its done, reboot your kindle and it should work properly.
If that failed, try a hard reset.
1. Power off the kindle.
2. Hold there power button for a Full 20 seconds, even when it turns black.
3. After step two is applied, power on the kindle.

I'm stuck on the Kindle File logo boot screen.
I used this client to attempt to root my Kindle. I am rather inexperienced, and tried to apply a permanent root with superuser before installing a custom bootloader. In the process, i think it tried to install FFF, but would take an unusually long time to download and install it. So naturally, as any frustrated noob would do, i tried to X out of the window and unplug my Kindle. Bad idea. Turned it on, and it was stuck on the boot screen.
I've tried using a MOTO factory cable to start it in fastboot, but it would not work. In the Kindle Fire general section, there is a sticky that has instructions on how to unroot it, but the link to download important files just leads to some internet propaganda thing multiupload is hosting or something; I can not download the files.
Any help and instruction would be great. I must warn, I'm rather new to the whole rooting and device modding thing, so I may need some additional instruction. Thanks in advance.
Your just stuck in fastboot shift +right click on kfu tools folder select open command window here power off your device leave it unplugged type fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product when it says waiting for device plug it in it will power on in the terminal if you get a response product: kindle type fastboot -i 0x1949 oem idme bootmode 4000 hit enter then type fastboot -i 0x1949 reboot it should then boot normal use a standard cable for this not your moto factory cable

What were you doing when it got stuck at the bootlogo? Have you tried some fastboot commands to see how it responds?
Even if it's not in fastboot mode, see if you can get it there...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668159
If you can get it into fastboot mode and issue fastboot commands to it, you can change bootmodes, flash a recovery, or whatever else to get the device booting again. There's also a part in the above post to figure out what hardware ID is getting sent to Windows. That will be important in determining what your KF is doing.

Kindle Fire HD 8.9 Issue
Question has to do with this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011126
Downloaded and unzipped KFHD_SRTv2.1- 8.1.4 to my desktop.
With the Kindle OFF and plugged into, I ran the SR Tool.bat file. I selected option 1, it then ask me if the device on y/n; I selected N and hit enter. It just says waiting for device. I left it here for a while since the OP says to be patient. Nothing after 15 minutes.
I then tried the above with the Kindle ON and plugged in. Had a little success, but then gets stuck on the Waiting for Device. I have tried Option 1: fast boot, Option 2: Restore-su/Supersu.apk only, Option 4: Erase Cache and userdata. All options (whether Kindle is plugged in and ON or OFF), result is "Waiting for Device".
The kindle turns on, but the unlock screen is glitchy. When I do slide the lock screen open, all the app logos are gone, and it is very slow and unresponsive. I am still seeing my name at the top of the Kindle, it finds available WIFI networks, ADB and Allow 3rd Party Apps were allowed, and I can see it under Device Manager on my Windows 7 laptop.
Please help me restore this to factory conditions. Thank you for your help.

Device is running 8.5.1
Problems occurred when I tried to run the Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v31. Made sure the Kindle Fire ADB drivers were updated before I tried this. Plugged into computer and it recognized it. Once I launched the runme.bat file, I selected Option 1: New Standard Root.
Hope this helps give a little more info. Thanks again
most likely you need to install a driver when the device is in fastboot mode. For whatever reason there isn't a good method to root 8.5.1 as it results in slowness. You should be able to open a adb shell. You then have two options one is to do reboot bootloader which would place you into fastboot after that check in your system to see if you need to install a driver. Once in fastboot you could install an alternative rom. If all you want is to restore the other method is to run the command reboot recovery. At this point your device should go into factory recovery mode and you can then reset it. Hope this helps.
Dear friend. I took a step 3.) Erase userdata and cache-all. The computer does not see my KINDLE FIRE HD 8.9. At all. On the -kindlfire-but nothing more. What to do?

Dear friend. I took a step 3.) Erase userdata and cache-all. The computer does not see my KINDLE FIRE HD 8.9. At all. On the -kindlfire-but nothing more. What to do?
Q/A:
So way back when I bought my Kindle Fire HD 8.9 I decided to root it. Unfortunately I don't know which process I went through but once I had an issue with a google app, I decided to try to remove the root I had put on it. In the process I obviously messed something up as the kindle refuses to boot to anything but the Kindle Fire System Recovery. Even at this screen when I do "Reset to Factory Default" it simply reboots and comes to the same screen.
I'm interested in what steps I can do to either revive my Kindle or use it to boot another operating system. Anything to keep it from being a large paper weight! My preference would be to restore the kindle to "like new" from amazon so at least I can give it to my girlfriend for school/reading
Thanks for reading and any insight you all give
EDIT: Okay so I've been able to install Fastboot and ADB on my pc when using "fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product" it gives me a response of <waiting for device> then I reach over onto the kindle and tell it reboot and heres my result in my CMD window:
Jem-PVT-Prod-04
So it appears that I'm able to send/recieve information from my kindle.
Upon sending the command to get the product's information, It now has the Fastboot mode logo across the front, but still not recognized by ADB. Anyone have any ideas on the next step?

If it boots into recovery you should be able to use the srt (system recovery tool) to restore it to a stock os. You'll lose your apps and data in doing so though.
Been through a bunch of threads here and elsewhere trying to figure this out. My daughter brought her 1st gen KF to me last night with it stuck on the logo screen. Here's the things I've tried so far:
Hard reset (with power button): Held down for 20 seconds to a minute. Doesn't work.
Installed adb and fastboot on my Mac OS X system. I can get adb responses, "adb devices" returns <device ID> device. The KF will also reboot with the "adb reboot" command. I followed the suggestion at noelarlante.com/kindle-fire-stuck-at-boot-logo-solved (can't post link, new user), but when I ran the "adb shell /data/local/tmp/fbmode" command, it returned "couldn't write bp1, panic!"
Also tried running "adb shell idme bootmode 4000" and "adb shell idme bootmode 4002", but get permission denied as the response
Fastboot commands don't work, I just get <waiting for device>
On the Windows 7 side, I installed the Amazon drivers and the KF is recognized without any problems.
I then tried the Kindle Unbrick Utility (v1.1). If I run the "Stuck at logo" option, I get error: device not found, even though Device Manager lists the Kindle Fire without any issues (shows up as Android Composite USB Interface). "Recovery Loop" option leaves me at <waiting for device>.
Turning now to the Kindle Fire Utility (v0.9.9), the KF is listed as ADB Status: Online, but Boot Status: Unknown. Using the options on the bootmode menu, the KF will reboot, but I get the "couldn't write bp1, panic!" message and Boot Status stays unknown. If I try to install TWRP, "couldn't write bp1, panic!" comes up again, then <waiting for device>. Nothing more happens.
Any suggestions beyond what I've tried so far? The key step seems to be getting past the "couldn't write bp1, panic!" issue.
May need a fastboot cable.

Yeah, I was wondering if the cable might be necessary. I'll give that a try and check back in when I've got it.

Try the fastboot commands without cable first.
I meant to add that in first post.

See OP, fastboot commands just give me the <waiting for device> prompt, only the adb commands work. Hoping the cable gets around that.

OP says nothing about fastboot commands.
See fourth bullet point in list above.
Will the fastboot cable override whatever has failed to keep the KF stuck in the boot loop? If the KF is accepting (some) adb commands, does that imply it is in normal bootmode?
Thanks again, got the cable ordered.

Fastboot cable forces Kindle into fastboot mode.
Sent from my XT912 using Tapatalk
Problem is solved. Here's what I did:
As sd_shadow suggested, I got a fastboot cable. This worked to get the KF into fastboot mode.
Once in fastboot mode, I was able to use Kindle Fire Utility to load FireFireFire and TWRP onto the Kindle.
TWRP from KFU was kind of an old version, so I got the latest version and did a fastboot flash recovery to load up that newer version.
Also downloaded the stock Kindle ROM. For some reason, the sdcard partition wouldn't mount in my Win7 VM, but did mount on my Mac, so copied update.zip from there.
TWRP (2.8.5.0 otter) then wouldn't install the ROM. Tried loading in the 2.8.5.0 blaze version, same deal.
Some Googling on this same problem turned up the fact that TWRP 2.2.2.1 would correctly install the Amazon ROM, which in fact it did. Later builds must have some kind of bug, but if this only affects 1st gen KF's, probably not an urgent one.
Rebooted and back in business. :good:
Fastboot cable is the key ingredient in this situation.
Twrp versions 2.8.X.X have issues for some people, use 2.7.1.0 for custom Roms, 2.2.2.1 for stock.zips
